    I as a peer reviewer flor the Higher Learning Commission. It doesn’t take 40-50 years to get programs accredited.

    The 1957 Rice Owls won the Southwest Conference with two Quarterbacks:King Hill and Frank Ryan. I know the game has changed, but Rice made it work.

    Andrew, John Savage drafted in the 5th round in 1964 by the LA Lakers.

    John Savage of Detroit Texas averaged 19.2 ppg and 11.0 rebounds per game. He was two time All MVC and honorable mention All-American. He played three years in the Missouri Valley Conference which was at the time one of the .premier basketball conferences in the country. We do tend to remember best those we have seen play.

    Bill Christle was an All MVC halfback senior on the 1961 football team. He was backup halfback to Abner Haynes his sophomore year and started his junior year.

    Gen Ed courses should not be much of a problem, generally. Major courses may be more of a proble. This is especially true if the major is accredited by a specialty group. Graduate transfers will have to be accepted into the appropriate graduate program. These decisions will be made by the academic side of the house.

    I find it hard to believe he had no idea of which of the other assistants were leaving. I would bet that he has been planning his staf well before officially being named.

    I was intrigued by comparing his experience as a juco coach to handling the yearly turnover created by the transfer portal.

    HIPAA laws don’t apply to what people know outside of access to medical records.

    I can’t speak for the present. In the sixties, we had a counseling center. Some doctoral students in counseling would do internships in the center under the mentorship of Dr. Bonk. If I remember correctly.

    Central Missouri is D2 with an enrollment of 10,000 or so. It was founded in 1871.

    The men’s basketball program at New Mexico State has been suspended. The coaching staff has been placed on paid administrative leave. The cause has not been revealed.

    I taught at McKinney High School in the early mid sixties. We had players earning scholarships to University of Texas, Baylor, University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Rice. More recently, I remember a bobsledder (Johnny Quinn) from McKinney.
