Braxton Berry, Garland Christian, QB
UNTLifer replied to GreenBat's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I don't know anything about him, but he may be similar to Mason McClendon from Midland Christian. He has thrown for almost 7,500 yards and 88 TD's with a 62% completion in 2 1/2 years. He is 5'10" and 175 pounds. Great TAPPS QB but not a D1 talent. -
So I finally got to try Tony's balls.

Don't be a tease! -
Me too, and the give up at the end of the game. I wanted us to bury the MUTS.
-
I agree, but I think this is a more aggressive, attacking D than Deloach's. That is probably a result of the team's strengths. This team doesn't have the d-line of Booger, Cardwell, Awasome, Pruitt, Daniels etc.... so we blitz more now and disguise what we do.

Deon Harris, Plano West ? Augustine, Plano West

Then my question is if both are probably negligible, then why go through the whole exercise of selling beer and then having to potentially drunk, obnoxious fans ruining a good family experience? We already have enough that are stone sober! Seriously, I just don't see the added enticement of adding beer sales. Beer is usually as expensive as a 6 pack at your local store and I can never justify dropping that kind of cash on warm beer. Just my .02 cents.
-
Honest question: How much of a bump in attendance do you expect beer sales to produce?
-
SMU just said it was a form of communion, dang church school! Beer sales will have minimal effect on attendance.

McCarney implores fans, students to fill seats

Family weekend always draws well. 20k+ -
I've never had your balls in my mouth, but I know a lot of people that have and they love them!

McCarney implores fans, students to fill seats

The TU/OU game is an excuse. That game starts at noon which is a full 6 hours prior to our game. FFR, I might agree, but the Spring Game with the garage sale, announcement of the All-Century Team, etc... didn't fill the seats. Winning will create the demand and demand, outside of the faithful on here, will drive ticket sales, Mean Green Club donations, etc.... We need to string together a number of winning seasons to eradicate the losing mentality of the fanbase. -
I believe the current green is the correct green.

Great news. Prayers for a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Rest Up!

Recruiting success for our CUSA opponents

Who's going to replace ____________?! This is the big question every single year, yet we always find someone to step up. Who's going to replace Galbreath? Cobbs emerged. Who's going to replace Thomas/Cobbs? Dunbar emerged. Who's going to replace Craig Robertson? Orr did. The examples are endless. Sure, we have an experienced team this year, but players will step up next year. Trice didn't set the world on fire last year, but has been so much better this year. Will Wright has stepped up this year at LB, but we will have Akunne, Scott, etc... We are going to be just fine and there are young men either on the roster or yet to arrive that will step up and contribute. -

Pretty strong statement from McCarney on attendance

I agree with Mac. -
Right or wrong, this is such a B.S. explanation. Refs are to call games objectively. They all make mistakes, but giving one team and advantage over another is ridiculous and should be pointed out to the league office. Point #2: Thank goodness we don't have to listen to that idiot every game. Makes me thankful for George and Hank.

Oh, I got your point and agree, but I would also like to see Rollins. Pegram and Byrd and interchangeable to me. Jimmerson is too, but adds some quickness. Rollins is the fastest of the crew.
-
Brad Horton sure seems happy.
-
This, this, this. I would also like to see more of Rollins, because he has speed that the other backs do not.
-
We have been most successful this year when using the pass to set up the run. We have also been most successfurl running the ball when running right at the defense, north and south, instead of these runs that allow the defense to string us out from sideline to sideline. Our current RB's that are playing, Byrd, Pegram, Jimmerson, do not have the speed to run these types of plays are are much more effective when running "between the tackles."
-
Poor offensive play calling is to blame.
-
Maybe, but Conroy Hines was his OC and was calling the plays. I think this is more Chico than you think considering this fits hid MO at other schools where he has been OC.
-
We have become one dimensional due to our DOA running game, so placing blame on DT, who just brought us back for the tie, is a little uncalled for. Chico runs hot and cold for whatever reason.
