I have listened to reasons ad nauseum regarding last year's failure. The blame never falls all at one's feet. Those blaming Benford, some to unhealthy levels, need to stop and look at the coaching staff he assembled. This was the most experienced staff ever, and I just don't see someone with Evans' background and experience letting Benford fall on his face. I don't know if we will ever really nail down what exactly led to the poor season, but it was probably a little bit of everything, players and coaches, but they all deserve a second chance. I appreciate the effort Benford is putting into recruiting and hope it pays off in the win/loss column.

Current players help recruit. Always have and always will. Coombs mentioned knowing Williams and some others. I can't imagine them talking him in to playing here if they were unhappy.

I think the weather had much to do with that. Murray, the Heisman hopeful, threw a lot of ducks too. There were also a number of drops, but all in all, I am proud of these young men and how they represented our school.

Good Lord, give these young men and our coaching staff some credit for performing well enough to have people that get paid to assess these games speak favorably of our program, Coach Mac and Coach Skaldany. Nobody on here is touting 7-5 or 6-6 as a measure of our return to greatness, but being bowl eligible after our last 8 years is great progress. There is no reason we can't either win out or finish 9-3, but this team is learning how to win and still as sone issues to fix. The only stats that matters are points allowed and points scored. Learn to enjoy this and pull off your shit colored glasses. Your D&D dork-a-thon awaits your return.
