I have been to the games, travelling roughly 5 hours one way, for the last five plus years. He played three years under Dodge as a WR, who according to the coaches, never was proficient at running routes. Dodge, if you watched those games, did not use a fullback and rarely multiple TE's. He then played one year under Mac and obviously didn't do much to set himself apart. I am glad he is finding success in the NFL. Try again.

Strange, BB hasn't played a down at any level for a couple of years and that takes a toll on fell, timing, etc... Williams has played. Just my opinion. We just need the best performer on the field.

MaxPreps Top 10 Metro Areas for FB Recruiting
UNTLifer replied to Christopher Walker's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Is Maxpreps even relevant anymore? -
So which era would you have chosen for our's? Face it, they did a great job incorporating segments of different eras. It would be impossible to make everyone happy. Only our fanbase would argue over this. Such a whipping.

I didn't think they were even considering changing them.

Yep, since we run so many formations with a FB.

Aren't you the designer of that uniform in your avatar?

I think they were pretty clear from the "get go" that this would be a mix of old uniforms. Love it.

Former UNT Coach Clint Bowen takes swipe at the Belt
UNTLifer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Clint Who? -
I agree, but we spend numerous threads complaining at this or that that the coaches made negative comments about, but typically ignore the good news about the defense, depth in the secondary, etc... I just find it funny. I'm not mad, I just find it funny that we tend to look for the bad news to jump on.

I much prefer a logo to the spelling, but it honestly doesn't matter that much to me. The schools below may disagree with your comment above. Illinois Southern Miss Tulsa Ohio Cal Ole Miss If you include those that use their initials, you can throw in the likes of UCLA, UNLV, LSU, etc...

Wow.

Noticed it has been raining quite a bit down there. Guess those lawns got backed up. The above ad must be comforting to those attending III Ward U.
-
But let's jump on those negatives. Maybe not you, but plenty of others. The double standard cracks me up. It is like we just don't want to accept good news around here, but will rally around the negatives til the cows come home.

Lost in all the gnashing of teeth over the QB position is the positive performance of the defense. I sure hope this signals a return of defense to its status of the past. One thing we could always count on was NT playing good defense and knocking somebody's head off. I hope and pray we are getting back to that level.

Good news and bad news out of #1 UNT scrimmage
UNTLifer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Why don't you go fly your little airplane and take some pictures. I think you actually work for the NSA, sneaky bastard. -
So maybe we need to bring back Conroy Hines as our OC. I like Canales, but he may be better suited as a HC. Then again, I think we are all jumping the gun a little bit considering this was scrimmage #1 of the Fall.

Off Season Topic : greatest football movie of all time ?
UNTLifer replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
Did she play TE, or was she a Deep Snapper? -
Berglund obviously has great athletic ability but how well that translates to being a D1 quareterback is yet to be seen. Many of us seem to think he was just going to walk in here and start from day one without taking into consideration that he hasn't seen live action since high school. I think we all need to give the young man some time to knock the rust off and get up to speed before considering him a bust. In all honesty, the best QB in the spring game was McNulty except for getting stripped from behind a couple of times. Williams may be the wild card in all of this, but as I mentioned a while back, doesn't some of the blame have to fall to Chico for the lack of development of DT and BB?
-
I have to disagree. If he remains number 3, then that is where he belongs based upon his performance. The same for number 1 and 2. I have faith that Mac and Chico ewil put the best QB on the field, the one that gives us the best chance to win. They will lose the entire team should they not do so.
