  1. I think the origin of the post had it best...if we have distanced from "Eagles", then a nickname of "The Nest" appears to be a step back , in my opinion.
  2. I also heard the "40 Liner" that D&M had on The Ticket. Junior actually sounded interested!
  3. 1. No (but not for the reasons you might think) 2. Yes
  4. I'll second the "time out for fat guys" motion!
  5. TeachinTodd 5' 10" 270 Positives: I take up a wide berth, so it will be hard for the defenders to get around me to the QB. Negatives: I won't win any 40 yard dashes in the near future. Played in one GMG Bowl a few years ago...I think I have finally recovered enough to return! Prediction: I'll pull a hamstring but find a way to play through it. Shirt Size XXL
  6. I like the date, and I am good for around $25...though I could go higher if there is enough peer pressure!
  7. Yeah - and when he's not doing that he is breaking windshields!
  8. I still have two available from my buddy Ed in Houston - with a Blue parking pass. Got one nibble, but never heard again - now I am sropping my worm back in the water (so to speak). Who wants 'em? (The tickets and pass - not the worm!)
  9. My buddy Ed will not be able to come in from Houston for the game, so I have his 2 tickets, plus a blue parking pass. Who wants 'em?
  10. When I played way back in high school - Homecoming was always a tough one because of so much going on. That being said - the team will be uplifted by the thought of the new stadium, the students will be drunk with pre-homecoming festivity joy, and the Denton community will turn out to see what the fuss is about... Attendance: 22,222 Troy 68 UNT 17
  11. Actually - they did annouce it. It was about the only thing done right tonight.
  12. Other than a win over Tulsa, nothing makes me happier than a couple Varsity Blues references!
  13. Really? Even though you don't reference Dragon football, your comment seems to point in that direction. I doubt you were talking about the shoppers in Southlake wanting to adopt a football team...
  14. I'll be there with three friends - my wife and kids don't have an extra 60 pounds to sweat off like I do, so they'll be relaxing at home!
  15. I have to agree - some days it is painful to read the posts because they are so negative. I like my Mean Green Kool-Aide nice and strong, so let's focus on the positives, until we have results to slow us down (but I hope they don't!)
  16. Well, even if they aren't meant for "us", what happens if "us" go? I plan on going to the one at the Gateway this Friday...
  17. Yes, it may indeed hurt bad - or - one could say this will give someone else the opportunity to rise and shine! Back in our run of 4 New Orleans Bowls, optimism (some would say cockiness) ruled the day - might not be bad to at least look at the "silver lining" sometimes...especially since not a game has been lost on this news yet!
  18. It may be old news to some (like those with more time to "dedicate" to boards like this), but for others like me, I welcome the posting of this info!
  19. I guess its a case of the grass being greener - even if it was in a pasture you were already in!
  20. I have been on here a couple years, and I believe people like Adler bring a lot to this board. I think it is natural for ardent supporters of this board, many will see Athletics as #1 (or near the top) and focus their consternations there. However, let me be one to say that I am in this for the long haul, and 30 years from now, we might not have that new stadium (though I hope not), but I will still be proud of all that UNT has done for me (my best friends, two degrees, and a feeling of being a part of something great) and not focus on some negatives.
  21. Desperado games are a ton of fun - I'm going to try and get my family to go!
  22. I am excited about playing K-State, but I will be observing this one from Denton, even if its via radio. My road $$ will be spent in Houston. Having lived there, I KNOW that there is fun to be had in that town!
  23. Good luck everyone! I will try and come out to watch the great game (if I am recovered from the great game the day before)!
  24. Football aside, it seems many on this board want to play SMU out of a STRONG dislike for the university -kind of like shutting them up. However, I ahve never once sensed that animosity towards TCU.
  25. Back to the original thread - sorry I missed a great time in Lewsiville/Denton. I am in 5 degree weather up in MN for a baptism. Go Mean Green!
