chumley's throws are brutal....looks imposing out there but needs to move positions quickly. good to see qb's w/ some zip on the ball, yet still under control.

look back at film and you'll see how other teams started to throw deep on him more and more as the season went on a couple of years ago. great tackler but not a consistent corner on long routes. once other teams see that, they'll do it over and over. those bombs are demoralizing for a defense.

Buyers was our best tackling DB, but he was beatable deep. He doesn't have great speed once he turns his hips. His speed and toughness may be better suited for WR.

new mexico high schools produce very few div 1 athletes in football. Texas doesn't have that problem.

Folks, why would anyone want to be a puppet master for a shit show. Wow, I'm a big time donor of the most embarrassing football and basketball program in the land! I don't see how anyone thinks that is a cool thing to be associated with. I just don't get that logic that we suck at everything because 17 people like to have access to our crap athletic program. "look everyone, I'm the tallest midget!" If anything, if I was a substantial donor, I'd want a ton more bang for my buck. How many wives would tolerate their husbands (or vice versa) continue to shell out big dough for a shit program that draws flies and is routinely an embarrassment to an otherwise terrific learning institution.

as long as they can move i don't mind size..I worry about size w/ all of these high powered offenses if it affects speed...nothing worse than seeing a slow lb chasing a quick back on a screen.

any wide receivers we sign will most likely have the best shot in this offense. Especially w/ Kidsy gone now as well.

you're right Harry...we have more offensive imagination in my old man leagues than unt does. Really sad to watch. Also shows how difficult it is to find shooters. I'm a referee and i've stopped being amazed at the poor shooting from the outside in every game.

I think Houston's success will be an eye opener for several athletes. They will realize that any team has a chance with the right coach to jump up and surprise people. Do you want to join 100 year old traditions or do you want to be on the ground floor of shocking the football world?

I agree Harry. There has to be more to the scheduling than any of knows. If the administration is happy w/ an empty stadium and an embarrassing window to the university (football), then they sure as hell have it. Kids and pets will only get away with what their parents/owners will allow, and apparently Rick is allowed to get by with a disgusting product w/ no accountability.
