  1. The MWC has a lot of day games since it gets pretty cold in the majority of those cities after September. Besides, we're only talking about probably 4 MWC road games per year, with several of them being one hour behind in the mountain time zone. Probably a moot point for the foreseeable future anyway unless Littrell and the new BB coach (please) are quick turnaround artists.
  2. "When asked about the declining basketball numbers, Villarreal pointed to a sinking national average in basketball attendance. But an NCAA report shows last season’s national totals were actually higher than the previous season and was also the eighth highest attendance total in NCAA history." Either he's smoking something really good, or they must not yet have Google on his computer.
  3. A program "getting stronger" doesn't usually include post-season bans.
  4. Yes, the inevitable reshuffling is one of the major reasons that I've always had interest in us joining the MWC. They're naturally likely to remain pretty stable, and joining that conference would give us some real protection against ending up back where we started (or worse) before we joined CUSA. Too much potential reshuffling among Eastern/Southern schools, and we're not exactly in great demand at this point in the game.
  5. I'd be shocked if any of the above 3 ended up in the Big 12. If they did somehow, I suspect that Texas would get uppity and bolt somewhere which would lead to a reshuffling of the whole deck. Regardless, we better figure out a way to win quick if we don't want to end up totally back in the SBC.
  6. We've played BYU a few times and actually beat them twice. I think we're 2-2 against them. I'm surprised no one who was around back then ever brings that up as a major accomplishment. We've also played Colorado at least once in a loss, but Jamario ran wild and gave us hope for much of the game. I'm fine with that list though, since those teams are pretty much the opposite of SEC football.
  7. If this continues, I'm going to tie a banner to my back and jog around the athletic center for an hour or two. The only consistency we have is losing.
  8. I want Jank back, but unfortunately....
  9. Parents alone don't necessarily limit size. I've seen it happen otherwise too many times. Even in my own extended family. Flutie is five ten in boots. Agreed.
  10. Yes, it's over. Unless of course the sun rises in the west and we win a couple of tourney games. Sad to say, but God forbid any of that stuff.
  11. Mason can flat out play, so I'm happy to have him and Jason aboard. Anyone know Mason's DOB? I looked around a little and couldn't find it, and that could be a factor on how much bigger he'll get over the next 5-6 years. He could be anywhere from a younger 17 to an older 19 as far as I know.
  12. #16 smu loses to Tulsa, and #15 tamu loses to Alabama. Guess I've got to grasp at anything positive in the sports world these days during the post-Super Bowl doldrums when none of my BB teams are exactly on fire. Maybe the good news can continue at ODU.
  13. Portland State used to be NAIA, so I wouldn't eliminate Wesleyan from the passing lane just yet.
  14. I guess she got her looks from the other side of the family. I have a cousin who was a coach for the Oilers back in the 80's, and I met them all at a barbeque down south of Houston after Bum had quit coaching. I'm guessing she was one of the little girls running around the house. Nice people.
  15. I agree. We've finally got stuff in place to make it happen. Whether we will or not is another question.
  16. You win. Especially if they were really cheap women.
  17. Yes, his example could have set the precedent for a Denton Walmart no no buy zone.
  18. I'm kind of in the mood to witness a train wreck today, so I plan on attending one at 3:00 this afternoon.
  19. Was there really any option for a true fan last season other than Everclear 190? Not being able to tell whether you're winning or losing can sometimes be a good thing.
  20. Outsiders apparently did a pretty good raiding job this year.
  21. I've heard of low T, but this guy is apparently afflicted with bad T. He'll likely end up attacking the wrong concealed carry person one of these days. No thanks.
  22. Find that elusive defensive tackle who's ready to contribute now and he gets a half notch bump from me. B for the moment.
  23. I'll take a quality JC guy there as well. Without naming names, our DT upperclassmen just ain't cutting it in the trenches. Obviously.
