  1. Bringing back baseball seems to be an extremely unpredictable event. My guess is that somebody needs to open their pocketbook in a big way. I still think it will happen before UTA football though.
  2. I don't know how we rank currently, but when I was in school we excelled in accounting as well. We were pretty much considered a top ten program nationally for quite a few years. With the nice new business facility, I've never quite understood why our business school seems to be stuck in the mud while others around us have made major advances. RV's fault?
  3. I'd have to agree that philosophy did play a part in some of those bubble screen pick sixes. Int's are Int's, but DT did seem to have more than his share of them that weren't totally his fault. That being said, it is up to the QB to make those split second decisions to avoid disaster.
  4. Or maybe he just likes high school girls, because as he gets older they all seem to stay the same?
  5. Sounds like a likely RS year doesn't appeal much to him. Hope he reconsiders.
  6. I like it. Especially considering the overall performance of our LB's last season.
  7. Sometimes even if you're a danger to no one, but the cop just decides that he doesn't like you or wants an arrest for the evening. I had a guy removed from the back seat of my car for PI years ago, and the guy wasn't particularly intoxicated and barely said a word. Definitely a law that is regularly abused by some departments/individuals. Luckily this incident is a non-issue for the program.
  8. People are obviously pretty slick with their phones these days, so watching your back is a smart thing to do unless you live the life of Mother Theresa. Some "friends" can be about as loyal as your average Facebook friend if they see an opportunity. Btw, I don't want anything to do with this guy as a leader. If he were a reformed 300 pound 4 star nose tackle I might give it a second thought.
  9. I think he can play where he wants right away since he's apparently a grad. student. LOMO and LALA are FBS like UTSA anyway.
  10. Actually I think it opened during the Truman administration, which I'm sure was even more impressive to recruits.
  11. He seems to shrink every time I see his measurements, but bring the guy on anyway. He looks like a football player and could turn out to be a good possession-type receiver for us. It's not like we're running out of seats on the bus at this point.
  12. I'll play, but they'll have to give me a new identity. It might come to that if things don't pick up pronto.
  13. So are we sure our half dozen all graduated and actually played?
  14. Yes, with the Steelers in '74 (IX).
  15. Casey Fitzgerald turned into an excellent college receiver that nobody wanted either. Booger didn't exactly have his mailbox stuffed with D1A offers himself. The rags to "riches" high school to college story is far from unheard of, and any pro football success for NT players after college is just gravy as far as I'm concerned.
  16. So if Okie State turned their preferred walk on offer into a scholly offer tomorrow, and he turned that scholly offer down because he wanted a higher probability of PT at NT, would that suddenly make everything alright? I do agree with your last sentence, but as SilverEagle stated I'm also willing to wait a week before passing judgement. Since we're only concerned with college unicorns here, there would be no problem finding dozens. No one says the guy is going to the NFL.
  17. While on the subject, five foot nine and slender Doug Flutie had zero D1 offers until two commits backed out on BC at the last second, and they gave their last available scholly to local boy Flutie. These things do happen occasionally.
  18. I look at the risk as being minimal, considering how few of our recruits (especially QB's) typically end up as starters/major contributors anyway. Especially considering the way that this particular freshman class is shaping up at this point. So many open slots with so few days left to fill them with quality recruits.
  19. I'm fine with his height at the moment if he's legitimately close to five eleven. As long as his dad's name isn't Larry he'll very possibly grow a little more. I love a quick and agile QB at this level, but he likely does need somewhere near 20 lbs before hitting the field as a regular. He probably has over a year and a half to get that done. Let's hope that he's another overlooked small school diamond in the rough. Welcome aboard!
  20. I think I'm warming up to him too. Anything under a legit five ten can be a little worrisome, but we are talking the college game and not the NFL. Hell, I grew close to two inches in my early 20's and have known people in their late teens who grew more than that. Let him sit next year and grow in more ways than one.
  21. Yeah, but I'm not so sure that we have too many alternatives here. The metro Top 100 lists kind of tell the story about what we're dealing with at this point in the program. I'd love to have a boatload of big time freshmen, but we probably need to win quickly if we want to change our freshman recruiting for the better in the near term. I guess we're gambling in part on the competency of our coaches in regard to player development as well as their overall schemes. We've got what we've got, and we'll certainly know more by October. Spring will be interesting also.
  22. Josh Brent and the affluenza boy basically got nothing even though there were deaths involved, but Kidsey probably isn't afflicted with affluenza, and I doubt that Jerry Jones will come running to his rescue. Sad situation all around.
  23. Let's just hope that our OL can provide the big guy with the protection that he needs. If so, I'm expecting big things.
  24. People who are soft on importing unvettable people from a war zone in which we are engaged, should really rethink the current landscape if they want us to avoid the European situation. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but IMO logic and common sense should prevail over blind compassion. Massive humanitarian aid from the international community rather than relocation and resettlement seems to be the obvious choice to me. If not, why not import the whole freaking 3rd world, since a pretty hefty percentage of people from all over this planet could be classified as oppressed or refugees from violence. Why choose those in the midst of our enemies for a seat at the American table, rather than those who reside in parts of the world that show minimal hatred for our country? The government is exporting hard working 10+ year U.S. residing Hispanics, while at the same time pushing for the importation of 10's of thousands of Syrians. Makes no sense to me, and there's also a "brain drain" factor to consider, since the smartest and slickest are usually the ones who move to the front of the line, and Syria needs their brightest to help rebuild the country if this thing ever ends. We've got to consider the long-term effects of all of this, rather than knee jerk compassion IMO. http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/14/world/isis-attacks-spread/index.html
  25. I have to wonder if Benford could turn the Warriors into the 76'ers within a month. Sadly, I'm only slightly joking.
