  1. No way our high school facilities that RV built will ever be able to compete against that. Puts ours to shame. We are truly 1AA at best.
  2. Absolutely, and he needs to resign immediately. He is just as guilty as Mac.
  3. Mac came in here with his chest puffed out, flaunting his big fat BCS ring and forcing us to listen to clips of his "Glory Days." He literally looked down on us from the podium and patronized us with a meaningless slogan,"Why not North Texas." Before the ink had even dried on the contract he breached the trust, honor and integrity of his position by placing the friendship of a buddy above his employer, the students, the alumni, season ticket holders, Mean Green Club Members and all who love and cherish the University of North Texas. He publicly criticized the athleticism of the recruits of a former coach and yet when he could no longer hide his scheme behind the fancy meaningless slogans, annoying and phony enthusiasm and closed practices he publicly whined about how difficult it was to recruit to North Texas. Keep in mind those same recruits he bad mouthed won the HOD Bowl. Last Saturday Mac shot The University of North Texas the finger by playing McNulty. Mac is a con artist who parlayed his position at UNT to the benefit of a friend and his own personnel financial position. The 1.8 million does not belong to Mac. It belongs to the University of North Texas Athletic Department. It belongs to the football players and the trainers. It belongs to the cheerleaders and the Green Brigade. It belongs to the students and the alumni. It belongs to the season ticket holders and Mean Green Club Members. Taking that money Mac is tantamount to stealing! In the forty five years I have been following UNT athletics I have never witnessed such a total disregard for honesty, integrity and morality.
  4. How great it would be if RV was instructed by his superiors to fire the guy he hired and who ultimately destroyed the football program and then after RV fires MAC, RV's superiors fire him. How sweet it would be.
  5. Actually a good AD would have developed a fan base of 30,800 after 15 years on the job. Its nice that we have 17 big donors but they can not offset the damage RV has done to this program through his mindless foolish choices of coaching personnel over those years. RV peaked as an Athletic Director when he stopped handing out UNT apparel on campus. But hey, the "good ole boys club" will have one of the nicest D1AA stadiums all to themselves.
  6. Sorry, I didn't do a very good job in explaining what I meant. I edited the post. Yes, I agree with you. Winning will make the difference.
  7. Well I was actually thinking in terms of Jackson, the BOR and our new President. However, if high level donors have paid their way into the decision making process then I guess the shoe fits. Look I'm grateful for everyone who buys season tickets, joins the Mean Green Club and gives money to the program at all levels. We've been season ticket holders in football and basketball and MGC members for years and I can tell you that as much as I love UNT it is getting more and more difficult to renew each year because it has become nothing more than an endorsement of failure. Is that so difficult to understand? There is absolutely no excuse for the current state of North Texas Athletics. Period.
  8. Has UNT Athletics become or has it always been a sweet cash cow whereby a select few individuals cash handsome paychecks and feast on prime rib and lobster served on expensive dinnerware while the rank and file are handed a paper plate filled with heaping helpings of incompetence, mediocrity, excuses, lies, arrogance and failure year after year? How can anyone or any group of people morally, ethically and knowledgeably extend the contracts and pay of certain individuals based on superficial and underwhelming job performance? Is this also an example of incompetence by those in positions of leadership? How else can one explain the decisions being made that not only stagnate our revenue sports but cripple them for years as well. Intentional? After 45 years I'm beginning to wonder. Rv, Mac and Benford can help this University and the UNT faithful by resigning today. Apogee and the Super Pit will never be filled under RV's tenure because the coaches he hired will never be successful here at winning games. Of course there is the one time exception as for the winning using OGR's. "Other guys recruits"
  9. Please kindly remove the tag under Football on the forum page that refers to Mac leading us to the promise land. Many of us donors knew this was a bad hire from the beginning but hopefully all of you after five years recognize the truth as well. It's actually insulting to the UNT faithful and should be embarrassing to Mac as well, though I doubt it is. Thank you!!
  10. Excellent information!! Proves Mac is a fraud and a disgrace. He should be fired and so should RV for what they have pulled at UNT at the expense of the UNT faithful. Shameful!!
  11. Well it's really not about just one game. Its about five years. It's also about more than just the winning as well. Its pretty obvious also that 2013 was an anomaly and was accomplished with OGR's. Other guys recruits. And like you I'll be there Saturday. LW (Lord Willing) And I had similar thoughts go through my mind when we ran three straight running plays up the middle after recovering the fumble off their punter. The first thing I said was that even our Head Coach doesn't believe in McNulty enough to trust him throwing the ball.
  12. Now what is it that McNulty was doing last Saturday night that Damarcus Smith can't do? Hand off the ball? Miss receivers? Throw interceptions? Hand off the ball? Did I mention hand off the ball?
  13. After following UNT Athletics for the past 45 years I would like nothing more than to see McNulty succeed big time. And that goes for Mac as well. It's my school and I love my school. But I'm sick and tired of the excuses, the failure, the mediocrity and the incompetence from those entrusted with elevating the image and success of our school. I'm sick and tired of seeing incompetence and failure being rewarded with hefty pay raises and extended contracts.
  14. Do I believe Mac would call his friend in Iowa and tell him to come on down to Tulsa because he would play his son in the place of the injured Thompson. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Do I believe Mac gave a flying sh_t what anyone thought? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
  15. Here's how it happened. Those same kids that McCarney publicly bad mouthed his first year as being too small, too slow, not athletic enough not only proved him wrong but also made him look weak when he publicly cried that UNT was a difficult place to recruit to. Yeah, maybe for someone like McCarney. I think Mac would make a great barker on the Midway at the State Fair. But like I said, if they have any conscience left. Neither of these individuals deserve or deserved the kind of pay they are receiving based on their performance. We were ripped off big time. Their salaries were increased and their contracts extended in such a way that one should question the integrity and ethics of all those involved.
  16. If the President and BOR won't remove these two individuals then we can always pray that if these two gentlemen still have a conscience they will resign on their own. And for the record..................................................I honestly believe that Mac put playing his friends son at Tulsa, when Thompson was hurt, over trying to actually win the game by playing the more experienced and talented quarterback in Osborn. Macnulty threw TWO picks for 12 points early in the contest and was still in at QB late and when the game was way out of reach. Again another example of how this man has betrayed the UNT faithful. Most of the UNT faithful are really naïve.
  17. Or maybe if you really try hard and give 100% but still fail then maybe you should get a raise and contract extension.
  18. First of all, he never ever should have been hired to begin with and those responsible need to be held accountable. That's you RV. But its not Mac's overall loosing record as a head coach nor his failure at UNT after FIVE years that warrant his dismissal. No, its something much more serious than that. When a Head Coach places the friendship of a former Iowa teammate before the Alumni, season ticket holders, those who donate to the Mean Green Club, those that travel to away games, the students and the University and the actual program he was entrusted to protect and promote by not only rewarding a scholarship to someone, who I believe to be a great and outstanding young man, but one who lacks the talent and physical strength to play the QB position at most levels of college football and certainly at the D1 level then this coach has betrayed the very employer that hired him not to mention the fans and those that contribute financially to the program. The very fact that after five years this head coach has not found a qualified D1 QB speaks volumes about his intentions from the very beginning. And that's why this Head Coach should be fired.
  19. Knock it off! You guys are acting like this is the END! We have 11 more games to lose.
  20. Didn't you get the memo? North Texas is a difficult place to recruit to. But Hark, good news!!!!! This is only the beginning or something like that.
  21. This game worries me because SMU has a legit Head Coach and we have the all consummate rah rah rah cheerleader who couldn't X and O his way out of a paper bag.
  22. Staying in budget? Look at the tens of thousands of dollars we have lost under RV because of poor hires, an empty Apogee/Super Pit and a shamefully low number of Mean Green Club members after 15 years on the job. Its painfully obvious that Jackson and the BOR have no intention of making a commitment to UNT Athletics or else they would never have allowed for this incompetence and mediocrity to continue.
