  1. Does Florida have a "hand mascot ?" I noticed some of the band members showong a sign to the TV camers last night. Any one know what it is ? Also, did you notice that all the teams in the tournament were shown on the balcony between the lower section and the second ? I looked for North Texas, but I didn't see it. But it made me proud to know it was there. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  2. And wear GREEN. SMU fans could also wear white. All NT fans need to be in GREEN. Plenty of time to shop. No excuses.
  3. How about keeping the East side stands (the non-pressbox side), getting rid of the pressbox side, and keeping "Fouts Field" as a track and field venue ? I can't think of a 440 yard track (on campus) without the one at Fouts. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  4. Just a thought...Todd Dodge threw to receivers wearing a white helmet at Texas. And he had his quaterbacks throw to receivers wearing a white helmet at Southlake Carroll. I wonder what color the helmets were at his Beaumont high school ? Join the Mean Green Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  5. I was at the NT-Tech game in question. I was pelted with tortillas during the game. I did save them, and I did throw them back at the Tech fans when we won. I know of no other school, other than NT and Texas Tech, where tortillas are thrown instead of sold. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  6. 25 or so years ago, I chose my seats at the Super Pit with one thing in mind; to sit behind my team. This year, I sat behind UTA, Jarvis, UL Monroe, and others. But not behind the Mean Green. I want the Mean Green back where they have been for 30 or so years, and my reasons are not as selfish as they may sound. First, the Pep Band sits near the current NT bench. During timeouts, when the players are getting instructions, the band is playing. This should make it hard for the team nearest the band to listen properly. The visiting team and NOT the home team should be subject to this "interference." I love the Pep Band, but I would think it a distraction for the nearest team. Second, the Pit Crew did a fine job this year not only with their attendance, but with their "jump starting" of cheers. (ie NORTH...TEXAS, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, SIT DOWN, and others). These cheers and JEERS should be a distraction to the visiting team, NOT the Mean Green. With the success NT had this year, I would think the Pit Crew will only increase in numbers. Third, at halftime and after the game, the teams are forced to cross each other. With emotions high, this is a wonderful atmosphere for someone to get their feelings hurt, and possibly get ejected. If there is a good reason for this move, I don't see it. No season ticket holder was informed of the move to my knowledge. To their credit, when I made my feelings known, the Athletic Dept. offered to change my seats of 25 or so years. I would appreciate feedback for other NT Basketball fans. 7. Hatter-I agree the bleachers would look good painted GREEN. Perhaps every other sectiion, a la The Cotton Bowl. I'm concerned that the paint wouldn't stick to the aluminum though. Great idea. It would be a good GPMEANGREEN Saturday project. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  8. Where is the restaurant in Alamo Heights ? What's the name ?
  9. The Tommy Nelson question made me remember a former "Eagles" quaterback with one of the greatest names in sports. Rick Shaw played QB around the 1968 to 1972 era. I don't remember too much about him, but with a name like that, he could have been a contender. I wonder where he is now ? Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  10. We have tried, and failed the slam dunk all season. I have no stats, but I bet we missed more than we made in the slam catagory. I would prefer the simple, non-sexy lay up and score than the flashy slam that turns the ball over to the other guys. I agree, this was the turning point in the game. Down by 9 at half, we couldn't come back. Great year. I can't wait for next season. GO MEAN GREEN

  12. I went to "Burgundy" near the historic square of downtown Denton. I asked Tony there if we could have the NT-memphis game on the TV. He said sure. Burgundy is located on W. Hickory next door to the Campus Theater. Lunch should run between $6 to $10. Best burger I've ever had. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  13. The Winthrop Eagles and the Butler Bulldogs. How could you not know that ?
  14. Why is the presumption that Woody might change positions ? Why not Daniel or Matt ? I thought that Woodrow did a good job when he was given an opportunity. I also thought, meaning no disrespect, that some that were given ample chances, failed to prove that they were they quaterback of the future.
  15. That was amazing. Not only a good interview, but to roll the credits with the fight song and cheerleaders in the background, very cool. Go Rich Young. GO MEAN GREEN
  16. Interstate Battery has always seemed the most likely opportunity to me. Or they could donate a large sum to get us "started."
  17. I noticed that guy as well 'CorinthEagle, and I couldn't agree more. I brought my Aggie son with me Sunday. Before we left the house, I told him not to wear anything "Aggie." Just out of respect. I think the Athletic Dept will offer to "replace" a non-NT shirt at a NT event free. There was a guy sitting near me at a basketball game wearing a Texas hat and jersey, and Athletics gave him a NT t-shirt. He put it on and the fans in the area he was sitting in applauded. 18. Is a ticket good for all four of the first round games, or just one game ? I'd like to see the Aggies as long as we're both there at the same time.
  19. I'm sorry. It was Texas Tech, not Arkansas. I guess I had Arkansas ... on the brain. Yes. Maryland, Auburn, Texas Tech, and NORTH TEXAS
  20. I went to hear Todd Dodge speak yesterday (tues) at the Trophy Club(?) Chamber of Commerce. I asked him that very question. He confirmed that only 4 teams in the nation are signed with UnderArmor. Those being NT, Auburn, Maryland, and Arkansas. He said green jerseys w/ white numbers trimmed in black. White pants. I asked about the helmets, and he said they would say " North Texas" on the side, but did not mention that they would be white. He spoke well and the crowd seemed to be excited about NT football. People were talking about our game to be played last night to go to the NCAAs. I only wish we had the selection of clothing that Northwest and Southlake High Schools had on display available with North Texas logos. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  21. I've bought season tickets for almost 30 years now. I don't recall ever having a problem.
  22. I watched on the SunBelt computer feed. Not the best quality (the feed, that is) but I got to see the action live. Now, I get to see the second game for no more money. There were very few NT fans, but I could hear them. The band sounded great. The Cheerleaders and the Dance Team looked good as always. Did anyone see the last second shot of the Middle and South Alabama ? If there had been and additional .05 seconds on the clock, we'd be playing the Jags. 23. Jim-The other "What's My Line" panelist was Arlene Francis. There was a male "regular in addition to Bennett Cerf, but when he left he was replaced with a weekly "guest" panelist. Oh the waste...

  25. Little known fact; Theron Fouts was very far sighted, hence the very long sight lines we enjoy today.
