This was a great trip. Except for that football thing. We left Manhattan (NY not kan) on a real train. The Metro North took us to Peekskill NY where we picked up a cab for the 20 or 30 minute ride to the "garrison." It's really a pretty campus. they have a efficient way of getting fans from the gate to the stadium and back. Lots of school busses run over and over. Even if there's just 3 or 4 people abord. The stadium was built in the last 1800s and I think it's similar to what we're gooing to have in our new place. The people were wonderful. n fact, I haven't spoken to anyone that wasn't anxious to help with directions and "how to" advice. I haven't seen one homeless person sleeping in a doorway and only a few panhandlers on the street. It's always fun to meet people ona road trips that I've "met" here on the board. This trip is one of my all time favorites. Again, except for that football thing.

I said they were an example of MANY NT students. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear. GO MEAN GREEN

As far as the lack of coverage, I'm sure the student sportcasters are simply reading copy from a national news/sports wire service. i doubt most even know where Fouts Field is. They are an example of many NT students. They come for the degree and leave without getting a real university experience. I thnk it's sad when a student is "forced" to come to North Texas when they really "want" to go to another school. GO MEAN GREEN

The only Rice grad I know is the doctor that did my and my son's lasic surgery-Dr. William Boothe. He's clearly brilliant, but he's not the life of the party. Not that you want a Jerry Seinfeld type crawling around in your eye. And a s yiou cann tlee I caan sre fyne. I wish they'd stop with the FIU/FAU interchangable logos. FAU is and has been a solid program as long as it has existed (what, 6 or 7 years). Interesting that North Texas and RIce are on the waiting list this week.

It's not a color. It's a putting surface. An attitude about the environment. The reason a dollar is called a greenback. How can it NOT be called The Green. Besides, grassy knoll would be confusing.

I was talking with some fans yesterday at the first Coach's show. It was brought up that there might be a contest coming to name the treed area near the new stadium. Ole Miss has the "grove". SMU has the "Boulevard". The Dallas Cowboys have SIx Flags. What should our new tailgating area be named ? And is it really a tailgate area if cars are not allowed to drive up to it ? More of a picnic area. How about AVIARY ?

i remember several years ago, we were staying at a hotel in Austin. The front desk staff ALL were wearing North Texas jerseys. I don't know where they went to school or where they WANTED to go to school, but somebody had the sense to know who was paying the freight that weekend. GO MEAN GREEN

I got my 2010 Season tickets Friday. They're beautiful. Each ticket has a standout player from a different era and shows not only the helmet North Texas would have used during that time, but the helmet that game's opponent would used during that era. Each has the Fout's Field Final Season emblem on it. I can't wait. GO MEAN GREEM

The logo should have adjustable sun ray lengths. A length to suit every taste.

Like Fenway Park's "Green Monster" and Arlington Stadium's "Home Run Porch", the "Eagle's Tail Feather" section of the new stadium is going to be an icon of our new Mean Green home.

i hears that commercial this afternoon as well. "Hey Mean Green fans..." I thought they were talking about All-Pro Foundation Repair or Mickey's Mean green Ale or something similar. It was great when I finally understood they were talking about MY team. GO MEAN GREEN

As much as I'd like to be in a conference with local college SMU, and failing that, a conference with Houston, i agree. This would leave us as the bell cow in the DFW area and still able to play conference games agains regional teams Tulsa, Rice, Tulane, and El Paseo. Not my favorite senerio, but one I'd accept.
