  1. There are scholarship kickers all the time. It is not unheard of.
  2. Saw this article, what a great way to reach out to the students and build support. Hope that Coach Littrell does something similar. I am not a student, but there support is important. http://footballscoop.com/news/mizzous-barry-odom-with-a-move-every-new-head-coach-should-copy/
  3. We should go at least 2-2 in those, possible 3-1.
  4. Final North Texas 69 -63 another win for the Ladies.
  5. 35 -30 North Texas 3 minutes to go in the 3rd.
  6. North Texas: Per source, Washington State offensive quality control Joel Filani will join Seth Littrell’s staff coaching receivers. http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joel_Filani
  7. I had no issue watching the video.. Seems like he knows what he wants.. Now we have to see if he can get it.
  8. I do not believe that any players from this year team knows who is hired yet. The team may meet the new coach prior to the press conference, or right after. I do think that it is possible that some players might have seen a candidate on campus, or even talked to a candidate which may be leading to this. I could be wrong, but this is what I would expect to happen.
  9. North Texas: One name to keep an eye on for the North Texas head coaching job is North Carolina assistant head coach for offense / tight ends coach Seth Littrell. http://coachingsearch.com/coaching-search-ticker Seems to have lots of experience and has recruited in Texas. http://www.goheels.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209385752

  11. I know everyone is excited to find out the who the new coach is.. I expect if it is Briles, or someone at that level the earliest we will hear is December 7th? Need the regular season to conclude for all teams. This way any departure does not effect games the next week. This would allow for planning on both sides. If we are hiring a FCS or just a position coach it is possible we hear something next week.
  12. Final 1-0 Tech.. Great Season ladies.. But can not wait to hear the reasons.
  13. My only thought is building for next year... but this is our best team and best chance to win some tournament games. Interesting to find out.
  14. why would we start the Freshman goalie, and not our senior? Just curious.
  15. North Texas: Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley interviewed this week for the North Texas head job reports the Star-Telegram’s John Henry. Henry adds that Arizona State OL coach (and former Abilene Christian head coach) Chris Thomsen and Texas A&M offensive coordinator Jake Spavital are believed to be on the list to interview and he notes that UNT is also expected to inquire about TCU’s Doug Meacham and / or Sonny Cumbie. http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/friday-november-6-2015/ I know there was a topic on Riley saying he not interested or did not interview. I take that as he does not want to distract from OU game. He wants to be a head coach and I think he would take it if offered. I also think we are probably still trying to talk to as many as we can to narrow down who might fit best. I still do not expect a hire till the week after thanksgiving, or early December. I hope all these are being talked to as it increases the chance we might get it right.
  16. yes he did.. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12034332/houston-cougars-hire-ohio-state-buckeyes-oc-tom-herman-head-coach And I would expect if we are hiring someone like that they do the same thing. The work on a staff and get them going on recruiting.. The commute between the two in the interim.
  17. North Texas: Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman reports some names in the mix at UNT include Baylor offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Kendal Briles, Arizona State offensive coordinator / quarterbacks / deputy head coach Mike Norvell and James Madison head coach Everett Withers. http://coachingsearch.com/coaching-search-ticker Have to say like Everett Withers.. Lots of experience a big time programs with big time coaches, and head coaching experience.
  18. In case anyone wants to apply.. could be soon now that it is posted. I sure it is on the North Texas site too, but saw it here. Head Coach North Texas
  19. I have worked in multiple athletic departments and sports organizations, and multiple times have seen search committees multiple times for coaching and staff choices. Even if there is a committee, the Athletic director or President or both will probably have to pick.
  20. I have not seen this name yet. Chris Klieman - Head Coach at North Dakota State.. He won the National title last year, his first taking over from previous coach. They are currently 4-1 on this year. http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=871&path=football
  21. My email was sent today. I will post if I get any kind of response.
  22. If it does not happen in the next day or so I do not see it happening. If you are going to make that change, why wait..
  23. Well the new bottom 10 is out, and we are firmly in the #4 position, but I guessing we will move to #1 if we lose this week. Week 5 Bottom 10 - ESPN With apologies to Elwood Blues and Steve Harvey, here's this week's Bottom 10. 1. Kansas (0-4)I did radio in Lawrence, Kansas, this week. They love me there, almost as much as they love Bill Snyder. The next four weekends bring contests versus Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. Just in time for Halloween. 2. New Mexico State (0-4)The Other Aggies opened up the Rio Grande Rivalry by starting big and carrying a 29-14 lead into the middle of the third quarter. Then archnemesis New Mexico scored the final 24 points and State wrapped up another Battle of I-25 by taking it south without a Rio Grande trophy for the fourth consecutive year. Yes, it's just a trophy, not an oaken barrel or a six-shooter or bronzed armadillo skull. Someone needs to get on that. 3. Why,oming? (0-5)The Cowboys traveled 1,611 miles to get throttled by Appalachian State 31-13 a game they started by surrendering a 59-yard TD run and throwing a 91-yard pick-six. On the bright side, they got to fly into and out of a massive hurricane-powered storm front. 4. North Texas Forty (0-4) Before you Mean Green fans get mad for suddenly going from unranked to fourth, take a look in the mirror. Actually, take a look in the mirrors of your friends and neighbors, because I received multiple emails and tweets from North Texas alums calling me out for not having the Mean Green ranked. Then run, because if you get caught looking into the mirrors of other people they're probably going to call the cops.
  24. ESPN published there bottom 10 for the week.. We are not ranked but in the receiving votes ESPN Bottom 10 1. Kansas (0-3) The Nayhawks suffered their record 31st straight road loss, falling to Rutgers in Pillow Fight of the Week of the Year II. It was a game that made "Fantastic Four " look like "The Shawshank Redemption." At one point there was a goal-line play where two officials called offsetting penalties while another signaled touchdown. Then KU intercepted a Rutgers pass in the end zone and followed that up with consecutive plays of a self-recovered fumble and an interception. Then the Jayhawks had a would-be touchdown called back for a substitution infraction when Big Jay accidentally wandered onto the field as he was doing the nae nae. OK, I made the last one up. But be honest, you totally believed it happened, didn't you? 2. New Mexico State (0-3) The Other Aggies failed to cover the spread against the Open Date University Fightin' Byes. This weekend brings the Rio Grande Rivalry, also known as the Battle of I-25 because that's the highway NMSU will use as it travels to Albuquerque to face archenemy New Mexico. They've been playing since 1894, a full 18 years before New Mexico became a state. After the game, tradition states that Pistol Pete and Lobo Louie meet at the 50-yard line and the loser has to keep a live armadillo inside his mascot head until next year's game. 3. Why,oming? (0-4) The Cowboys served as New Mexico's warm-up act before the Battle of I-25. This weekend Wyoming travels to Appalachian State for the Battle of I-80 East to I-29 South to I-70 East to I-64 East to I-57 South to I-24 East to I-40 East to I-81 North. 4. UMass (0-3) Best coach's news conference of the weekend? After a trip to South Bend, Indiana, that resulted in a 62-27 loss but a check for a million bucks, head Mass man Mark Whipple said, flatly, "Their varsity was better than our varsity. Their JV was better than our JV ... We'll take the money and run." Thankfully, that's not what the actual Minutemen said at Lexington and Concord. 5. UT(s) (1-3) (2-2)The University of Texas and the University of Tennessee like to feud about who should rightfully own the abbreviation "UT". In the span of one 10-minute Saturday afternoon horror show, all the Horns and Vols proved they were worthy of was jointly nailing down the Highly Coveted No. 5 Spot. Besides, the residents of Utah would like to point out that they are the ones who have the legal right to use "UT" whenever and wherever they want. And their flagship school's win-loss record remains Un-Touched. Waiting list: FA(not I)U (1-3), Rutgers (2-2), North Texas Forty (0-3), Georgia State Not Southern (1-2), Tejas State (1-2), Van-duh-bilt (1-3), UNLV (1-3), Fres-No State (1-3), Arizona's state pride.
  25. I am not in the area anymore, but of course follow from afar, and watch and attend games that might be in my area. I am still hoping the team will get things turned around, but this seems to me like it about to turn into a free-fall. I just wondering what type of season people think it will take for changes to be made, and where they would be. AD. Coach, ect. Again I hope we can turn it around and still win some games, it not unheard of to start 0-3 and finish 6-6 or 7-5, but need to see some big changes this week.
