Spread the news... For us folks who are out of town, but want to stay up todate on Mean Green Sports. I have season tickets and have not made a game this year.. Both Football and Basketball, but they have all been used.

This loss is tough to take.. got to learn to win games like this. I think the coaching staff will get it figured out.

I am out of state and was not able to make it back for the game Saturday. I have not seen what the attendance was? anyone else know? Thanks.. But hey keep the heads high... Coach Dodge and the Staff will get the ship moving fast and in the right direction.

I just moved to Michigan, and was wondering what Coach Dodge said regarding the game against OU, and what to expect against SMU. Also everyone needs to keep the faith, we will get there.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Southlake Carroll High school coach Todd Dodge will reportedly be named the North Texas head football coach to replace Darrell Dickey, who was fired on Nov. 8. Dodge was an assistant for North Texas during the 1992-93 season. The UNT board of regents will vote to authorize the hiring of a new coach today at 2pm. Sources close to the situation tell KNTU a 7pm press conference has been scheduled to announce the new hiring. KNTU will air the press conference beginning at 7 on FM 88.1 The One. this is from the KNTU website....

MAy need to be at 7:00 so that the board of regents meeting is over, and so that Dodge is done with Practice at Southlake..

I hope someonoe will carry it live.. would be good to see or atleast hear on the radio.

With this new hire, it is time for the Mean Green Nation to join and support this decision. RV has hired the coach he feels will lead us to the next level. I personally think it is the right move, but right or wrong will support it, and give the new HC of North Texas a chance to show if it is a good or bad choice. GO MEAN GREEN

I think it is a mistake that is supposed to be on the track schedule.

yes it does.. Sagrin only counts games against Division 1 Schools. Our first game was against a non division 1 school Cameron. Still great to make the jump

I do not think there is one set yet.. My guess is they would like to have a coach hired by mid December (help recruiting) would be the first choice. But they will take the time to make sure they get the correct coach.

The Southeastern Conference has told the Gamecocks they can only play a rooster crow during timeouts, after a score, before the game, during halftime and when the game ends. South Carolina had been playing the rooster crow before critical third downs and other times to pump up the crowd. The SEC told the Gamecocks they were breaking conference regulations about when artificial noise could be played. "We are certainly disappointed that we have to limit the Gamecock crow, as we know its a crowd favorite, but obviously we will comply with the Southeastern Conference rules and regulations," said Jeff Crane, the university's athletics marketing director.

Kragthorpe was on the staff at North Texas - back in 1994-1995. Following his four-year stint at NAU, Kragthorpe became the offensive coordinator at North Texas in 1994, spending two years with the Mean Green. At North Texas, he coordinated an offense that led the conference in total offense. While there, he coached quarterback Mitch Maher who broke single-season school records for passing yards and total offense. After two seasons, he then moved to Boston College where he spent the 1996 season as quarterback coach, coaching current NFL signal-caller Matt Hasselbeck.

I agree at times like this football takes a back seat to life. OUr thoughts should be with coach Dickey and his family. I am sure the staff will be able to handle and additional responsibilities.
