  1. My guess surely to be wrong - The FBS schools will break away for football and the NCAA will continue to run FCS and below along with other sports. I believe it was Sam Houston's president that said that they would have preferred to wait and move up but he was not sure if that would be possible later on. There will be two distinctively different divisions within this new College Football Association, similar to the current P5 and G5, but the top division will be smaller than the current P5. My guess 30-40 schools. You will have two sets of playoffs.
  2. Let's not return rights to the states where the founders meant for them to be. Amazing how many want the Federal Government controlling everything.
  3. Missing the point. This is not about working within the portal - It is about the coaches who have their programs recruiting players before they enter the portal.
  4. There is a major difference in accepting that the portal is a way of life and just setting back and accepting the tampering. Good for Seth. Good for the coach at Pittsburg. Hopefully more of the schools that are reaching out to kids before they declare for the portal will be called out.

  7. Coming to the P5 soon? I could see SEC schools with 20+ coaches and full-time recruiters/tampering specialist https://footballscoop.com/news/report-ncaa-transformation-committee-could-eliminate-coaching-staff-caps Abolishing the "countable coach" limit would allow each team's staff of analysts and quality control coaches to provide on-field instruction to players -- or to provide on-field instruction and no longer look over their shoulder for their employer's compliance staff. It also means schools could send analysts and quality control coaches on the road to recruit -- and/or to hire coaches specifically to go on the road to recruit.
  8. My reply was based on the question of what defines "a great season".
  9. With this schedule it would need to be 9+ and win a bowl

  12. Not an issue one with anyone who questioned the hire. MY opinion though is if you are going to blames the man for everything that does not go right, be willing to also credit him for the positives.
  13. Per Footballscoop.com UTEP: Head coach Dana Dimel has netted a 1-year contract extension. He'll now make $800,000 in 2022, $825,000 in 2023, and $850,000 in 2024.
  14. I think his main factor was that he wanted no part of coaching in the SEC 🐥
  15. You have to wonder how long until this hits the high schools. With so many districts having open enrollment and so much recruiting already going on how soon until legal pay-for-play comes to high schools? Then again, maybe this will help curb some of the bogus private schools that are set up to be athletic factories claiming to provide educations.
  16. Seems its more about - Give me mine now! Too many believe they are entitles to play immediately; if not move on to "someone who deserves me". Have to question the intelligence in the thought making process when so many are not getting new scholarships. IMO, if they take the leap, they deserve the bad along with the good.
  17. The NCAA was so quick to put the rule in place they didn't think about the safeguards. Total lack of oversight from the start and no penalties for tampering. Guess they thought there was still ethics in college sports - could not have ben more wrong!
