  1. What a horrible thing to happen at this time of year for all involved. Hopefully the rebuild is speedy and fits in architecturally with the rest of the Square. I'd hate to see the start of a Fry Street like makeover happening there.
  2. Charlotte is the one dragging CUSA now. Some stronger teams are going through a period of mediocrity just like we did when we started losing Sunbelt under Dickey. The bottom of CUSA has hired up and now it's up to the rest of the team's to compete. The Miners and the Houston Owls are looking. It's only Charlotte that's keeping on their coach. The East would never have agreed to add anymore West teams. ODU was added and is already begging along with Southern Miss for a more regional alignment.
  3. Everything is awesome this season!
  4. I've got a feeling that if the Desert Aggies are invited to a bowl, they will go. I also have a feeling that it will be the end NMSU football. At least at the FBS level.
  5. Are they even eligible for post season after playing a fbs transitional team twice in the regular season (oh my god!) And have 2 byes? I know Army gets some kind of pass if they play 2 FCS teams in a OOC.
  6. Yeah, but they were trying to go independent. Idaho is dropping down, but a lot of their natural rivals in virtually every single sport are in the Big Sky Conference. I'm not sure where the rest of NMSU's teams are, I think they're still in the WAC with little to no rivals. If football drops down too, do they join the Big Sky as full members? I can't see them surviving as an independent FBS school if they can't afford to travel to a bowl.
  7. K-State is one of the best traveling fan bases, right up there with Nebraska I believe.
  8. There were near 2250k when I shut it down... my stream was awful, but I think that has more to do with Spectrum's "excellent and upgraded service' than Stadiums broadcast.
  9. I've always rolled my eyes at the negative Green Brigade posts until last year when their show was a straight up copy of their 2012 show. Plus the fact that you can't find any official content online. A former coworker of mine who was on the drumline told me that Nick Williams will report any content on YouTube because they're all his arrangements. There needs to be a change, the GB is straight up boring these days.
  10. I'm pretty sure it was the ticket drives when people bought certain meals they were doing when y'all first started out. Not the most illustrious intro into the FBS, but it has to be one of the more successful. I just didnt know if some UTSA alum owns a hunk of the KFCs in San Antonio.
  11. What was the initial connection between UTSA and KFC? Do they have vendor rights in the Alamodome? Was it a local franchiser that was a big supporter? The company banking on da moneys? I grew up and have lived the majority of my life in SA and I still don't get that association.
  12. This is completely unprecedented. Louisville may very well get the death penalty and lose its accreditation since they've already been put on probation for both last year. And they're not the only school or conference involved. This is huge.
  13. Saw this quick answer on the collegebasketball subreddit Conspiracy to commit bribery , Solicitation of bribes and gratuities by an agent of a federally-funded organization (Lamont Evans, Emanuel Richardson, and Anthony Bland), Solicitation of bribes and gratuities by an agent of a federally-funded organization (Christian Dawkins and Munish Sood), Conspiracy to commit Honest Services Fraud, Honest services wire fraud (South Carolina, Oklahoma State, Arizona, USC), Wire fraud conspiracy, Travel act conspiracy Also this snippet from Sports Illustrated "The federal government's stake in this topic is multi-faceted. For one, the alleged bribes took place across state lines, meaning the persons travelled to different states or communicated across state lines. Such “interstate" activity triggered the possibility of federal charges for conspiracy, bribery, fraud and other crimes. In addition, the federal government financially supports both public and private universities, including through financial student aid, grants and tax breaks. From that lens, coaches handle federal resources and those coaches' salaries are partly subsidized through the federal government. Further, these coaches, as one of the complaints details, “have the ability to provide sports agents, financial advisors, business managers and others with access to the student-athletes they coach" and wield “enormous influence over the student-athletes who play for them, in particular with respect to guiding those student-athletes through the process of selecting agents and other advisors when they prepare to leave college and enter the NBA." In at least an indirect sense, then, federal taxpayers are funding corruption in college sports. With that background in mind, the Justice Department charges that the coaches and financial advisors conspired to commit bribery through educational programs that receive federal funds. Travel Act conspiracy also serves as a basis for charges. Under federal law it is a crime to travel in interstate commerce, or use the mail or any facility in interstate, with the intent to distribute the proceeds of any unlawful activity or “promote, manage, establish, carry on, or facilitate the promotion, management, establishment, or carrying on, of any unlawful activity." Here the defendants are accused of using the U.S. postal system to further their system of bribes. Through this supposed scheme, the defendants allegedly “concealed bribe payments to high school student-athletes and/or their families" in exchange for matriculating to particular universities. By accepting those bribes, the Justice Department observes, the players became ineligible to compete in the NCAA. These five defendants are also accused of money laundering, meaning using unlawful means to give ill-gotten gains the appearance of being legitimate money."
  14. If you select watch on Sling under Bein in our time slot, it lists NT vs UAB at Apogee under the main title of Clemson vs. VT. So I'm holding out hope it'll be our game.
  15. I'm calling that the Pennywise stance. Get that man a red balloon!
  16. UAB's attendance also has a hell of a lot to do with why the program was shut down. Nothing gets you people on your side more than scandal and public outcry against the top dog in Tuscaloosa unashamedly shutting down a branch schools football program. UAB has been running off of publicity and hype the entire time they've been gone. I wouldn't sleep on them either, but their attendance isn't based off of people missing UAB football.
  17. The coastal bend needs some prayers too. The last few days have been awful. We had to evacuate Portland on Thursday and made it to my brother's place in Pflugerville. The power could be out for another week to 2 weeks, still don't know the status of our home, and our church was pretty much destroyed. Thanks Harvey.
  18. I graduated from the College of Art and Design. I don't forget it.
  19. Oh yeah, the way Dickey left was really classless. I didn't say I liked his inclusion to the HOF. Plus didn't his OC Ramon Flannigan try to fight one of y'all in the middle of a game?
  20. The Emergency Management, and City Management and Urban Policy programs are among the top in the country as well.
