  1. poor ol' Tasty and Q. They can't post on this day, the day you start a look-a-like thread. One big tease.
  2. If you want to take it a step further, let's bring in the DMN, because they are the ones that pay him and review his work. If they're okay with crap reporting, they should be the ones held accountable. Damn the DaMN!
  3. If you have a shirt/hat advertising a certain website of the initials gmg.com, why not wear it at the undisclosed location?
  4. I have had a couple fantastic trips to the Pourhouse. Just to be clear, "Poorhouse" was simply a typo and not meant as any shot against them.
  5. On ESPN+ A certain establishment in Lewisville is showing the game. BTW, did I mention how much I dig The Poorhouse and Central Grill in Denton, and The Fox and Hound near Corporate in Lewisville? Fantastic places to meet, greet, and catch a game.
  6. One of these days a car is going to roll that hard into a concrete pillar that supports an over-pass. That'll be a disastrous day.
  7. If I'm playing UNT, I'm going to game plan very similar to what MTSU did: aggressive when they attack the lanes, hope for fouls, and put our depth to the test with foul trouble. Interestingly enough, I don't know if there is a team left in the tourney that could do it as well as MTSU. What WKU brings to the table, off my vague memory, is a different set of skills (great guard play, good ball motion, but not as big?) We were great today because of several things, but what stood out to me was that MUTS shots were not falling and our backups really stepped up big time when Odufuwa and Trameil had to sit. We will definitely need the latter as this tourney plays out. I just can't overstate how fortunate we are to have the depth that we possess and the free throw shooting our guards and big men BOTH have. I don't really know much about WKU, except to see solid play from them. I don't know if they've ever "folded" in a game? Well coached. We have to hope their shots don't fall and one guy does not heat up *cough*Slaughter*cough*. Our guards did really well today getting into the lanes but I wish they can draw more fouls. Maybe it was just me, but I thought the refs were calling the game in the MUTS favor early on, which put George and Eric in the positions they were in: on the bench. I'm also ready for Adam to get back into the groove that we saw the last 3 - 4 games of the regular season. He just disappeared again! Does anybody else revel in the though of having this kind of production: Odu/Tram combine for appx 15 points and 20 boards, Josh hits his usual 20, TT gets 12 - 15, and McCoy gets 15 - 18? I imagine that kind of performance would free up DJ and Dennis to roam the floor at will, and we would kill anyone in the league. man I am just full of shit incredible coach speak today!
  8. ...in an otherwise dark world? Speak for yourself.
  9. Obviously, there was a clause in the Poorhouse sponsorship contract which prevents any other eating establishment to be mentioned on this board, even if the 'house is not showing the game. This is excellent marketing. Oh, and.... Central Grill.
  10. Let's keep this thread going and change the face of North Texas marketing. Anyone up for a Jamie Adams and Paul Batchelder ignoring party? I have inside sources that tell me those conniving bastards think the internet is evil and never check their email. Perhaps they've tag teamed Brett in his attempt to terminate Mean Green sports.
  11. It doesn't have to be one end of the spectrum or the other: 60+ years of horrible administration and liberal anti-athletic oriented students is going to have some carry over. We've had some great times the last 10 years, but some apathy is still present and can't be dismissed as if we are Tennessee. And if this wasn't announced until the day after or before the Wednesday game, than I think marketing could have been better. Especially if times were changed and minds were not made up. Feel free to disagree.
  12. I had a great time last year in Manhattan, and decided to see if there was some opinion around here regarding our 2009 road games. If you had to rank them in terms of bang for the buck/mileage, how would they stack up? Here's the unofficial 2009 road list (per NT03's sig): 09/03 @ BALL ST (thurs) 09/19 @ BAMA 10/10 @ ULL 10/24 @ TROY 11/28 @ ARK ST This is really on a whim for me based on word of mouth, but here's my preference: 1) LaLa. I've heard so much about their food and tailgating. Sun Belt support: check. short trip: check. Seems like this is a must-go at some point in the near future. 2) 'Bama: I have never been to an SEC stadium. 'Bama would be a great start. 3) Troy: don't know anything about their food, but this is a great football program and witnessing a road win there would be really cool to have under my belt. 4) Ark State: I don't' know anything about this place, except Quinn's magical catch a couple years ago over-shadowed a really crappy-looking field. I'm tempted to say this would be last behind Ball State if not for distance. I'm sure some of our Arkie regulars would be happy to chime in with some input. I'd love to hear from them 5) Ball State: too f'n far. Sorry. Anyone ever been there? If you've never done this before, it's a lot of fun. If you're a 20-something or early 30-something Greek, it probably is worth checking with the local chapter and seeing about some hookup. I did that in Manhattan and made some great friends. More to think about: player parents make these trips and you'll probably get to meet some. These kids work their tail off for us and conversely we get a pair (or two) of Mean Green subway fans with their commitment. Manhattan gave me the chance to chat with the Warrens and it was a pleasure. Big fan of Steve now. Plus. Tailgating. and football. and tailgating. Did I mention tailgating?
  13. You mean McCoy will resume lighting it up.
  14. Wow. Never heard people complain about Brett before. Thank you for your opinion.
  15. Hey look, a bio section. *click* *No way they tell the world who they really ar.....aaaaaand sure enough: Here’s where our fake bios will go
  16. Incredible. FNMA bought our department lunch. I got to build my 10" Cavalli's oven roasted pizza, as did every one else! Thank you FNMA stimulus. Thank you tax payers. Thank you elephants.
  17. Never ever forget this guy is the end of UNT athletics. Don't trust a f'n word he writes.
  18. So who can we compare ourselves to?
  19. Throwing your hands in the air and saying "we didn't know" doesn't purge you of the charges, FSU. pay the price.
  20. Only if done publicly. I find they're quite personable via the message service. There is a fun Hispanic-themed thread going on in the Non-UNT sports forum. I need some inspiration though, so get in there and fire away!
