  1. I am glad you have picked an avenue (this board) for the inevitably original, intelligent posts that come with this new theme. Regarding your comments on TCU, all I have to say is it don't matter who they play when they are going to beat anyone. Winning makes everything look better. With sawlt awn it.
  2. As a quick aside, I can't help but notice that when Mack/Bob play those cards to the media, they are 'hammering' home the expectations, etc that come with the program. When Dodge plays those cards, he gets blasted for "throwing these kids under the bus" and "not taking responsibility". But when you have rings on your finger that say National Champs, I guess you can say whatever you want.
  3. Remember when we were winning Belt titles and people were still bitching about the mess behind the scenes, and the draws on third-and-long? Excuses will never go away, for either side of the argument. There comes a time when you have to move on; wipe the slate clean. I am ready to read about more excuses and nit-picks, but on the heels of win streaks and bowl games...and student-athletes passing their tests.
  4. It wasn't luck. He built the UNM program into a top-25 tier (with a lot of help from a Lobo named Urlacher) before he made his way to Firt Worth. For nearly a decade, Fran was the man you wanted to build your program
  5. Is that based on a Wired Mag poll? Cuz those are the only polls I will believe. /teasing Plumm, can you link me to a source for that?
  6. If they started a game, they are starters. IMO, it doesn't matter how they got there. If you're going to be nitpick about who was starting opening day vs. who wasn't, so be it. Same logic applies when we read all those pre-season mags and their evaluations say things like, "UNT's offense line returns 10 players with 48 starts between them."
  7. Didn't a Bowden-coached FSU team play in the first game ever at Fouts? If so, it seems full circle to hire a Bowden to coach the first game in our next stadium
  8. I never officially adopted a player, but I think this is as good a thread as any to mention I love our DTs, and it looked like Jeremy Phillips was a beast yesterday.
  9. Cowboys offense today > Mean Green offense yesterday?
  10. BWAHAHAHA! The truth is funny. SMU is a second home for the Miners. If there are no conflicts with UNT events, I would recommend any Mean Green faithful to watch UTEP-SMU in Dallas. Football or basketball.
  11. Perhaps, but it was done because we have been relegated to Riley. Stick another kid in there and maybe Chico gets the reigns again. It's a big ol' clusterf&ck of a guess as to what is going on under Dodge. lol
  12. It doesn't make sense to me if we don't know what offense the next coach is gonna bring. IMO, Rodge is our perfect back-up guy. Stick whoever we have left as the starter and leave Rodge as your backup. He won't last the season as the starter...that's what the doctors said, right? Give Teagarden or Baine reps as the starter and see what Canales will devise. Less risky than chucking the whole thing for a new system, mid-season. Having said that, I will support whatever QB starts moving forward.
  13. Your phones ringing, Dude. Thank you, Donny.
  14. Riley was never able to throw the deep ball. The injury "only" limited him in the sense that he will not be able to take the wear and tear that comes with hundreds of snaps through the course of the season.
  15. This very likely ends any consideration for Leach.
  16. I guess that's the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuatin' itself.
  17. How about a shutout win, is that possible? ME THINKS SO, with a little help of course.
  18. I have heard high school coaches hate him. Dodge was bombing away on opposition late in the 4th even when Carrol was up 56-7. Surely they can't all be lovey-dovey over him? Which is it?
