  1. Good call with the Timberlake, but I think Forsch is almost a dead ringer for Cole Hauser as Benny in Dazed and Confused. Mitchy. Mitchy, mitchy, mitchy...
  2. I must have missed the thread about Lance's quote.
  3. The Rutgers sign is a nice touch.
  4. I missed the media the past few years that say UCLA's D is littered with NFL talent.
  5. He can run the ball 60 times and attempt < 10 passes for all I care, as long as it gets the W.
  6. The BSU-Georgia game features the ugliest matchup of unis I've ever seen.
  7. Good read. I don't read much into coach speak. I've heard them sandbag things either way: the opponent is so good, or our team is so terrible.
  8. Did anyone see the post-game DT interview? He looks borderline emotional.
  9. I'm relying totally on GameCast for this one. Looks like UCLA has a bit of momentum? 31-21 and driving to make it a 3 point game.
  10. Chico needs to find ways to get Lance in space more, now that our mobility at QB is limited. Dunbar looked really good on a couple of screen catches against FIU.
  11. I think we the transfers we have coming in, 2012 looks promising. I really hope we don't have to wait longer than that!
  12. Yeah, it was rough watching some of the other positions. One play that resonates with me is DT hitting a streaking Willie Taylor perfectly in stride and wide open. Except Willie turned his head up field too soon and the ball slipped right through his arms. It was one of many instances, coupled with T.Y. having his way in Q1 and JJ going down, that really made the game rough. UTEP football is not on my radar much anymore. I love my Miners, but I've been whipped into a pulp by Price's own trend: his teams are terrible in November. National COTY and Rose Bowl winner be darned. I don't have TV, so I'll pull up the Houston live stats. I know next week is gonna be rough. I think that the our learning curve this week will be outstanding, but against Houston it might not show.
  13. Nothing up my undies, and certainly not trying to get under your skin. It's all fun debate. On the flip side, I don't think message boards are where "no excuses" reside. As fans, we look for trends, and that's what we're talking about. In this case, a young line might explain our offensively futility. So in that regard, you and your "no excuses" theme probably wouldn't be a home run election for admin, either. I agree that "no excuses" should be taught to the players. I'm glad that is what I read DMac saying in the post game.
  14. I'm happy for USU. But you can't convince us seniority on the line is moot. We're in a mess. Stop comparing us to every other program out there. The expectation is to get better every snap, every practice. Fly to the ball. Get angry when things don't go your way. Just. Get. Better. Stop looking at others and our past. There are just too many dynamics. Coaching trends, staff turnover, talent gaps, position switches, emotional highs and lows. Kudos to USU and their game 1 heroics. But screw them. My own expectation is to get in a position where we can win every game. Not scare a game 1 opponent then lose conference games and top off at 4 wins for a decade. That is there coach's trend. The FIU game sucks. Being shut out sucks. We get it. It's one game. Move on. **edit Just noticed we are now comparing our coverage to other local media coverage. ugh.
  15. Have respect for those that have been following UNT football since the 1960's onward. The kneejerk on this board is a whip, but imagine 30+ years of watching our administration piss on this football program, and then Denton kick it when it's down. rough.
  16. lol. Truth is, you don't have to enjoy the bball game. Try stepping into a UNT building where everyone is having a good time, and our team is getting a W. I'm not a fan of baseball, but I find the games to be a great hang. Now if only it didn't cost me $20 to have a snack/drink at the Ballpark...
  17. I agree with the consistency that Chico brings, but is it so simple? Someone with football experience help me out. Is an OC allowed full control, or can it vary from coach to coach?** Does it make a big difference if you have a new OLine coach? Does that apply to us? What about other O position coaches? Did we not have turnover in WR/QB/TE/RB coaches? ** Will we ever know? I'm as frustrated as the next guy regarding our offensive performance Thursday. But I'm not about to assume that retaining Chico means these players are going through the same system/routines as last year. Then again, maybe they are...
  18. When did JJ go down? What was the score up to that point, and how were we looking in the trenches?
  19. Emmit touched on it: it looks like this is going to take more than one off-season to fix. Did anyone record the post-game coach interview? I want to hear how mad DMac was.
  20. You're so much more efficient than I.
