  1. Please take the LA Tech/UTSA grudge elsewhere. This is GoMeanGreen.com Best of luck to UTSA and LA Tech. Quite honestly, I would rather have LA-Laffayette come with us than either UTSA or LA Tech.
  2. I really don't think you guys understand... They could knock $10k off of what he's making here now. Here's why he wants to coach there (also consider his 13 years of asst. coaching there):
  3. Happy Birthday Tony! Looking forward to another year to celebrate with you!
  4. I'm pretty sure JJ stays at UNT until LSU comes calling. If that is now, then there's really not much that could be done. If Johnson is out at LSU, then you'd better believe that JJ has already made a call to their AD to inquire. It's his career. He's going to try and advance it. And if he ever gets the LSU job, I would not be surprised to see him retire there.
  5. Wow. Just when I thought I couldn't think any lower of this guy... I bet in the back of his mind he believes he could dodge a bullet from point blank range, or at least deflect it. The man is on top of his own world.
  6. Ooh! I love fun MENSA questions like this!! So, I can run a mile in about 9 minutes...well, 7 minutes if I'm in shape. When I'm running, I can drink up to a gallon of water. So if I'm running for 26.2 miles, then I think you have 1 1/2 buckets of water. What did I win?
  7. Valid question, but do you need to know "specifically" where someone lived in order to verify residency?
  8. Money and prestige aside, it's threads like this that would cause me to seek employment elsewhere if I were her. Very creepy.
  9. No doubt he's a legit 5* board op prospect. However, I think he wants to change positions. Not sure where he feels he should be playing in the broadcast, but you gotta think that with his skillset and coaching he's already obtained, the transition should be smooth. Surely the coaches in the RTVF department will be able to ease the transition and I expect Grubes to have a nice career at UNT. Hopefully we'll hear him as a sideline reporter during the football games. Jub-Jub to Grubes back to Jub-Jub!
  10. Either these guys are really dumb, or (conspiracy theory alert!) they went exactly where they wanted to go in East Texas, had to make up an excuse to cover it up, and sacrificed their intellectual reputation to hide it. Either way, not smart.
  11. I think we can all agree that coach Aston did well here. I think we can all lament that her regime was too short. But for all you mad guys, flip the table and imagine your "dream job" is offered to you while you are in a pretty nice spot already. Do you take it? If you say no, you're probably lying, or you're not challenging yourself enough. I can't blame her for jumping at this opportunity.
  12. I'm a novice here, so please don't kill me. When it comes to political threads, I usually California-cool, hip-hop my way into a thread, if I ever do... But here's a serious attempt: What if instead of making someone pay a penalty tax for NOT having insurance, you give some kind of credit for those that DO have insurance? That way, you're not forcing anyone to buy insurance (which according to the arguments, looks like it would appease the conservatives?), but you're rewarding those who decide to do so (which seems like it would appease the liberals?), be it financially or otherwise. The reward can be scalable: Virtually nothing for the highest tax bracket all the way to a hefty subsidy that covers alot of the cost of the insurance for the lowest tax bracket. Thanks for your consideration. I'll hang up and listen.
  13. I don't care about race, gender, religion, etc... Can the guy win, and win the right way? If so, hire him. I know you're playing Devil's advocate Harry, I just hope that is not the reason a guy like Daniels would get passed over. He could be an Iranian transgendered scientologist, for all I care. Just get us to the NCAA tournament, and do it without cheating! Go Mean Green!
  14. You have to give Joe your Souvenier-cup-size coke first before you actually get the jersey, so that's an extra $6 in the coffers each week! Hello Baseball Stadium!
  15. Steven White wins 400M Hurdles at Texas Relays.
  16. Luckily, you sign an LOI with a School's name on it... not a coach's. They'll be here next year, unless they back out of their LOI, in which case they would be treated like a transfer and would have to sit out a year, correct?
  17. Best Option: "Fresh off their stunning upset of LSU, come see the Mean Green pound Texas Southern! Then, keep coming back." Next-Best Option: Whatever UTSA is doing to get people to come watch them play. Worst Option: Do nothing.
  18. Nice! Hey, don't be shy about "accidentally" hitting a switch on your board that pipes in George and Hank on a Saturday afternoon in the fall. People in Fayetteville need some Mean Green in their life.
  19. This is a person who does not understand business then. Probably not an alumn of UT, let alone ANY university.
  20. The more I think about Trice returning kicks, the more excited I get about that possibility. My reason: He's short. When he gets up behind the wedge, he'll practically vanish behind those bigger guys. He's fast and shifty enough to get to the next level on his own, throw in the fact that opponents won't be able to really see him, and I think you have a recipe for large gains on Special Teams. I think we would consistently have good field position with him back there. Of course, kick/punt returning is pretty crazy and I would hate to see him injured. I think we're going to be relying on him pretty heavily on defense in the passing game. Tough call.
