How is Benford even tied to this job? Did his agent contact RV, so RV decided he would be a nice fit?

Fran knows he can cheat a little bit since he's going against an 8th grader with a wrist splint. Sad thing is, he got beat every time. Do we really want this guy coaching our team?

So I'm starting to wonder if Capel is really even being considered, or has declined... I haven't seen any rumors floating around out there with him other than what's on our board.

If I'm forced to chose between these 3, Benford is dead last. I would be cool with either Shawn or Fran. I agree with CMJ though. I'm thinking these 3 are not RV's 3.

Why do we have this bio on here? If we're gonna put this one up here, we may as well put up bios for Shaka Smart and Brad Stevens. If RV somehow pulls this off, I'm ready to buy tickets to wherever the final 4 is located... I just don't see it happening. I think Monson would be easier to get than Marshall. And I don't know if he is really attainable for us either.

I think we learned that RV has better contacts than what we can come up with. Remember 2 weeks ago when everyone was on the Matt Daniel bandwaggon to be the next ladies coach? Yeah, I like our actual hire a little better. If Kaspar has not been contacted, he probably wont be. I'd rather have Fraschilla, and I think Fran is to UNT what Johnny was to LSU: The guy we know we can get, but lets kick the tires on some of these other guys... like say, a Duke Asst. coach with recruiting inroads in DFW?

Hey, the great thing about this station's range is that if there are some country-music listeners who just so happen to be gamblers, then they'll have better reception than those who live in Dallas or Fort Worth! And if there's a specific kind of fan we need more of, it's the 70 year old chain-smoking grandma (tracheotomy optional) who is suffering from scoliosis from years of sitting at her favorite penny slot machine.

I think Griffey's last 8 injury-riddled years of his career proves that he was not a juicer. He's the best player I've ever seen with my own eyes.

Right. A ship is open for him, but per NCAA rules we can only bring on 25 new players this year. So unless one of the incoming freshmen don't make it, then all of the 25 ships for this year's incoming freshman class are full. Too bad.

Yep. OU boosters paying players... what else is new up there? Whether or not Capel knew is almost irrelevant to our situation as we don't really have that kind of booster @ UNT (The stupid-rich, brazen kind)... but, it still has to be in the back of RV's mind when considering him. I think a guy with program-building HC experience (VCU), Power-6 HC experience (OU), and a stint as an assistant under coach K. has got to be a person you take a close look at, if not favor.

The reasons to hire coach Forrest are named Mitchell, Williams, & Jones. He's an ace recruiter with remarkable ties to local AAU and High School coaches. It would be a shame to lose those ties. Also, the players love him. The reason NOT to hire coach Forrest is his lack of Head Coaching Experience.
