  1. Unless he was lifting weights with Tony at the time you talked to him, I can't believe it.
  2. That list of potential coaches reflects the national perception of UNT's desireability. This guy probably has no clue who Tony Mitchell is. If it's not Forrest, I expect alot of jaws to drop when the new coach is announced.
  3. I'll be rolling up to this garage sale with 8 - 10 friends and/or family members, then send the oldest one up to the attendant to haggle over the price of a pair of shorts while the rest of us fleece the place for all the good stuff. That's how garage sales work right?
  4. The confusion here reminds me of the confusion around our favorite term for a player that leaves UNT.
  5. I see a trend developing at North Texas, and I like it.
  6. Looking back at this video, Houston couldn't even fill their own allottment of seats.
  7. I had a smile on my face the entire time I watched. I'm proud of him. I won't go through this until 17 years from now, but I imagine this feeling will be similar to watching my daughter graduate (and then enroll at UNT of course). She'll be mine for 18 years, then I've gotta let her go pursue her own dreams. Ahem. Uh... Paper Tiger for sure. Good riddance.
  8. Tony, We here at GoMeanGreen.com have really given it alot of thought, and I know it sounds crazy because we've only known each other for just over a year, but we think you might be THE ONE. Please, don't be alarmed. We just had to tell you. We just couldn't keep it inside any longer... We Love You. Tony Mitchell, will you marry us?
  9. looking at some of their comments, it sounds like they have a paper tiger as their mens b-ball coach.
  10. I like trends... and there is a trend developing at North Texas.
  11. PlummMeanGreen has been around here for quite some time and he really cares for the Mean Green too! Asst. coach? You need to hire the best coach for the job. Now, if that turns out to be Kaspar... then welcome home! Otherwise, best of luck @ SFA and stay Green.
  12. I think Dempsey is a special player that we will be able to hang our hat on for a few more years. We know what we're getting from this guy, and it is top notch play. Now, IMO, Jozy's progress in Europe is much more important for the U.S. Squad. He seems to shrink in Intl. play. But maybe if he gains confidence/training against top European squads, it will all click and he can be an elite striker for us.
  13. If the women's HC spot was so desireable that an ACC coach would leave, then I wonder which ACC coach would be interested in the men's HC spot? Coach K can be had. PICK UP THE PHONE RV!!!!
  14. My educated guess: RV listened to his fan base and hired coach Forrest... ...to be the women's coach.
  15. Didn't Capel get Willie Warren to come up to Norman? I don't think I would mind this hire. Plenty of HC experience, plus a few years under coach K. If he's interested, I think you have to kick the tires. EDIT: I think his scandal was more related to the STUPID Oklahoma boosters who keep giving players money. UNT doesn't really have that kind of booster, so he should be good here.
  16. That's what's so great! We will! They're called Rice and UTEP. TX St. or neither.
  17. If it's really ALL ABOUT the market size, then why not go after MTSU? Nashville market is bigger, and MTSU is constantly winning the Bubas cup. They would be instantly competitive, rather than taking 70-0 beatings in all sports for 2 years or more like UTSA. We have history with them, and I would think they would appease Marshall & ECU.
  18. This is only correct when Thompson is healthy and eligible. Once he graduates, we are not OK at QB with the guys we have "in house".
  19. Heck, I can do better than that! I'll pay Monson $500 myself if he wants to come here.
  20. I hope to shake both of our new coaches hands at the Denton Coaches Caravan.
  21. I think my GMG.com bretheren could use this:
  22. Shawn Forrest Bob Marlin ...to sad to care anymore.
