  1. In an ideal world, he won't get much playing time even if he gets the waiver since he plays a position behind a 1st Team All-conference pair of guards and a True Soph C who was on the All-Freshman team. He would be at the mercy of the NCAA transfer rule which is to sit a year. I hope he does get the waiver though, just in case the injury bug bites our O-line.
  2. Right. If he's looking at playing this year, then he's probably looking at a backup role, so he may as well sit. But if he can get the hardship waiver, then at least he would be able to play if something crazy happened to Y'Barbo/Kirby/Lemon & McKinney.
  3. This would be great! Bring him in, and paired with Sam Rice, we'll have some nice D1 experience replacing some of our departing O-linemen. Hopefully Dennucci is as-advertised as well.
  4. I'm going with 7-5. Basing that record mainly on the return of our strong O-Line.
  5. This is interesting. I've never heard this before. What kind of traction is this getting down in those two cities? As mentioned a few times in this thread already, San Antonio has been used as a bargaining chip for several teams to drive deals they really want. Eventually, they may make it too sweet for a team to pass up. We'll see, but I highly doubt it this time around.
  6. For those complaining about the "Above the Rest for Thousands Less" billboards... They are advertising a new program Dr. Smatresk put in that worked very well for him at UNLV. The Eagle Express plan ensures $4000 back in your pocket if you graduate on time. It's new, so you need to get the word out about it. http://eagleexpress.unt.edu/
  7. Announced press conference attendance: 25,000. Pretty good turnout!
  8. The finger-pointing, whispers, & dropped jaws when this guy happens to be walking anywhere nearby.
  9. I think all 3 teams losing their QBs as well as UNT & Rice losing some pretty stout other players only compounds the idea of parity during the preseason.
  10. Would love an honest assessment from you about next season's front 4. Do you see any dropoffs from last year at any specific positions? Anyone coming in or stepping up that we can expect to shine and upgrade a specific position from last year?
  11. Keep in mind, we're not just trying to win football games. We're an Academic Institution on the road to Tier 1 status. The college of Arts & Sciences plays a very large role in that. Not much research funding in football, and apparently only Ernie Khuene and a handful of die-hards want to fund our b-ball 'research' project.
  12. UNT90 has mentioned this before, so the idea's not mine, but I think this is the excuse we could be fed if Tennessee or Iowa do not let us out of either game in 2015.
  13. Rice is coming off 2 straight fantastic years. If NT can do the same thing, I think we'll see a bump, like what they're seeing this year.
  14. "OK fellas, the best defensive strategy is a good substitution strategy. Let's practice getting off the bench, and immediately sitting back down."
  15. This is the worst-case scenario. I just cant really see it happening. The only thing that could be worse would be the catastrophe of an injury plague.
  16. I have a feeling beer sales may just do a little better (per capita, maybe even overall) at UNT basketball games than football games.
  17. He's already watching his back for lil' Coker to come take his spot after his eligibility is up in Tuscaloosa. The writing's on the wall Gio. May as well just quit now.
  18. How 'bout Fred Hitstone? Yabba Dabba Concussion!
  19. At least we're taking money from a middle of the pack P5 team (like we're doing this year in Austin) instead of from a returning SEC or Big12 champion as we've been doing for the past 10-15 years... The chances of walking out with the money as well as a W are a little better! The paycheck games are not going away until we can fill Apogee regularly.
  20. After Spring Practice, he's sitting behind Fred Scott on the depth chart @ MLB. I thought he looked good in the spring game and was very vocal on the field directing D-linemen & other LBs when he was in. He'll definitely be on the field this year.
