  1. I expect Chris to be immediately impactful, wherever he winds up, since his coach will probably realize he has a Russell Westbrook-type, shoot-first PG, and tailor the offense accordingly. Question for you all: Which would you rather have step into Chris' empty starting PG spot? 1. Todd Eaglin - http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/041614aaa.html 2. Trey Norris - http://www.goyotes.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/trey_norris_820067.html Remember when just about everyone was on board with losing Norris for Hardwick? "Hey, if we're going to be big-time, this is the kind of move we have to make!" There were a handful of us who were very much concerned with that move. Now, we have neither, and a huge hole to fill at the most important position on the floor. The reigns are now firmly in the hands of Todd Eaglin. God Speed Mr. Eaglin, & forgive me for doubting. I'm pulling for you man.
  2. Exactly. The excuses = defiance, or ignorance. I really don't think he's ignorant. Rick, If you would like to make a move but cannot because the BOR wont let you for financial reasons... Don't respond, instead, file the complaint away in the over-flowing cabinet of fan displeasure, and bring it in (may need to rent a forklift) when the finances are in line. But, please don't tell the fans all of the bogus reasons why this catastrophe is not coach Benford's fault.
  3. Let's focus on the existing 'pipeline' at DeSoto and focus a little less on developing a pipeline into Denton High.
  4. GMG.com isn't the right soap-box for this. We're all die-hards here... even the ones who criticize.
  5. Best of luck to Zed in the future. He made some nice plays for the Mean Green last year.
  6. When driving through Waco on 35, this place basically dwarfs everything else in town.
  7. Seems this kind of smokescreen would certainly affect his confidence as well as the confidence that his teammates have in him. I just don't think that is McCarney's style.
  8. I would be very surprised if we made it into the 60's. I would not be surprised if we show up next (87). Anywhere in between, I'll just throw out #79, would make sense.
  9. For real. I dunno about you guys, but this Bergdahl guy doesnt seem like a guy we can expect to come in and help right away. Probably headed for a redshirt.
  10. FAU finished the year very strong and was bowl-eligible, but sat home. They're going to be a good team.
  11. Though the source is shaky at best, I would consider this good news. I see alot of similarities between Greer and DT.
  12. http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/article-NickEatman/Linehan-Sees-Some-Similarities-Between-Dunbar-Reggie-Bush/8bd61d22-be98-4911-a881-67678ebab0aa?campaign=social_20140603_25257446 "Hes shown me a nice feel for the game as a runner and a guy who can do some nice things as a receiver, too."
  13. Adding onto this, It helps when the CB's are quick enough to read a screen and blow by blocks for the tackle. Buyers was doing this all year. It also helps when you have quick sideline-to-sideline LBs to assist and keep the play outside, & Lairamie Lee & Marcus Trice to come up and bust some heads. I'm with Billy on this one.
  14. Right. Some folks like bud light and other pisswater beers. But I'd rather have water out of the drinking fountain before I drink that. Get a OSDH-type selection in there though... now we're talking.
  15. Why would Navy be in the West instead of Cincinnati?
  16. Right, and I think if the State demands any kind of recuperations, Mr. Ryan's firm will be able to flip it to where the state actually owes UNT more money.
  17. Abilene Wylie... Yeah, he's going to Baylor. Ol' blue-collar UNT doesn't stand a chance.
  18. Don't slow the roll! It's been like 100 yrs, or so, since Abner Haynes was here. I'd like to see a decent, Hall-of-Fame-worthy, running back emerge this year.
  19. I don't think an 11:00 start is an attendance killer. Although the sun will be upon us all, it won't be quite as hot as it is around 5:00-6:00pm.
  20. If we're not playing at the Cotton Bowl again, I'm ready for that NMBowl today. I'm just not going to the Bahamas or Hawaii.
  21. So last year, we played Lemon at Tackle and moved McKinney to Guard for a few games when Antonio Johnson was out recovering from surgery. If we go with that lineup, we have the entire line back. However, it appears Lemon is going to play Guard again this year according to this Vito article, and I don't think they're going to put McKinney at Tackle... So we will be breaking in a new O-lineman this year at Right Tackle (Rentfro?). Still, overall, this is going to be a very, very good unit with the potential to put 3 players on the 1st team all-conference team.
