SMU was probably the worst D1 team, that I ever saw last season. This year, they return those same bad players, besides a handful of freshmen, that were in high school 4 months ago. Chad Morris is a heck of a coach, but I can't see how Vegas makes them the favorite? Plus, this should be a 50/50 crowd, I don't get it.

Your response, just made my case. Todd is a good man and he brought his son to UNT, when he had other options. It didn't work out for Todd, but that's no reason to slander him. I was excited for Todd getting the NT job, and that was my sole reason for discovering and joining this site, I've never bothered to change my handle. I enjoy seeing all Texas teams do well, especially locally, but I still can't understand, why you guys ignore the great success of TCU. Like I stated, I peruse many sites, I have a feeling, (besides ponyfans) you can not say the same.

#1. Agree, this was the same talent that SMU had last year, with the exception of a handful of freshmen. #2. Agree, I'm big into HS football and Chad Morris is the real deal. UNT better clip them this year, cause like it or not, that train is going to pull out of the station. #8. Disagree, more SMU fans will show up for a season opener against a 4th ranked old rival, than NT...and you know it. #9. UNT SHOULD bring more fans than Baylor, the alumni base and students in DFW dwarf that of Baylor's. I peruse many fan websites, but I never seen one that is so obsessed, with admitted hatred and vitriol with one school...as UNT is with SMU....not even close. Some posters such as emmitt, should seek professional counseling, it can't be healthy.

SMU is talent devoid, most of their games were over by the end of the first quarter. Chad Morris will turn them around, but he will need two or three recruiting classes, just to be somewhat competitive. SMU was last or next to last nationally, in almost every category.

With 34,000 students, an enormous DFW alumni base, season opener, "rivalry game", no excuses for not having at least 15,000.

Why no mention of top 10 team TCU? They are CLOSER than SMU and would fill the stadium. Media folks say, SMU losing to UNT last year changed the program's focus. June Jones was out, two day's after the UNT loss, maybe SMU fans will thanks NT in the future.

Fair point, but he also has coaches from Tech and NMS in his home last week, why no disdain for those schools?

I checked, but the game sold out yesterday. Anyone have any extra's? One of my co- workers is a big Memphis fan, he took me to Moody to see their game against SMU, they have really hit all the right buttons, that place was as loud as any Mavs playoff game that I went to in 2011.

Haven't checked the site in a while, but looks like it's the same old thing, SMU bashing. You make yourself look petty, everytime the excuse of "SMU is paying", anytime they have success.

As much as most of you guys love to talk about SMU, I'm shocked there's not any talk of this game? Big rivalry game, with #20 TCU in a sold out stadium. I went to the game with a couple of TCU friends, very, very exciting game. To the dismay of the SMU haters, looks like June Jones is doing it yet again, so you will just have to face reality. Denton is closer to Ft Worth, so the worry warts over here, should try and schedule the Frogs. SMU beats TCU in overtime.

Some of you people need to use your head. SMU is in Dallas, TCU is in Ft Worth, UNT is in ....DENTON. Put your jealousy and hatred of SMU aside for a moment and THINK! If by some chance the Big12 does survive, and SMU gets in, guess what? There will be an opening in CUSA. You better start praying to the football gods that SMU gets in, because if they dont,UNT is stuck.

Never knew Craig Way was from NT? I've never heard him mention it, all he's talked about for many years is the Horns. George Dunham is one of the best things that's ever happened to NT, whatever he is paid, it's not near enough.

I went to the game with some Army friends, proud day for the Military! The Armed Forces Bowl had a great game day presentation, very very impressive, lots of fun for all! Really tale of two halfs, SMU was flat as can be in the first half, add in three or four turnovers and Army was up 16 to zip at halftime! I guess June Jones lit into them at halftime, cause they looked much different in the second half. SMU's kicker stinks, he missed two fieldgoals, including one on SMU's last drive that would have won the game. After Army's first drive, their offense couldn't do much at all. It was one of those games where SMU would win nine out of ten times, SMU doubled Army in total yardage, but it was Army's time! I was thrilled Army won, but, it wouldn't hurt my feeling if the Ponies would have won. I know thats blasphemy with most over here, but they are from DFW, and I will be for TCU bigtime tomorrow! Go Frogs, Go Mustangs, Go Meangreen!
