  1. Why not? TCU is closer to Denton, and they are #12 in the country! But you and a couple of others, would rather get your panties in a wad over a 1-8 team? Think about how "small time" and down right stupid your logic is.
  2. I watched some of that SMU-NAVY game yesterday. SMU was done before the game started, that game was played in a monsoon with 35-40 mph winds! It was crazy! Oh, and since Ft Worth is closer, is TCU a rival?
  3. One of the guys on The Ticket said yesterday, that TCU may have one of the top non BCS classes in the country, and that SMU has 22 commitments.
  4. You would have to think, with the desperate need for this stadium, that no matter how the votes come out......that the university will say it passed. They know that if it doesn't, we are doomed.
  5. I watched the game on the tube last night, they must have counted tickets sold? Because there was not 16,000 fans there.
  6. "Rice called off the dogs in the 4th quarter?" Let's be honest folks, Rice called off the dogs early in the 3rd quarter. I have to admit people, this is really bad. I have always been a huge Todd supporter, but I've never seen a team this bad before either. Any chance, that the power brokers decide to remove Todd?
  7. You have to credit Rice, they could have easily scored over 100 points.
  8. I agree, this is a VERY big game for UNT!
  9. There are a number of reasons here. First of all is the so called home field advantage, as you will see today, Rice draws terrible. Second, NT has had 2 weeks to rest, and prepare for Rice. Third, let's look at the Rice schedule. SMU---CUSA game Memphis---CUSA road game Vanderbilt---SEC road game Texas---Big 12 road game UNT---0-3 SBC team Then back into CUSA play, against their most hated rival Tulsa. Mentally, put yourself into the minds of the Rice players, and go through that schedule. There is very little chance, that we get their best shot today. And Todd will have us ready to play as well! We have a great opportunuty to get a win today!
  10. UNT is in Denton TCU is in Ft Worth SMU is in Dallas For some reason,we get more coverage in the DALLAS Morning News than TCU does. TCU fans should be the one's complaining, but they don't, even though TCU is closer to Dallas than Denton is......and let's not compare our program with TCU's. We should be thrilled, that we are getting more coverage than TCU, but still we get the conspiracy crap. And SMU, like it or not, is only a few miles from the DMN offices. UNT is bigger than TCU and SMU combined!!! Any problems we have, are because of...........look in the mirror.
  11. To be fair, (which is uncommon over here) the tv announcers said that SMU has three freshmen starting on the o-line, we don't. By the way, I'm in a bad mood, because Todd isn't redshirting Riley!
  12. I don't know what you are talking about? My DMN edition has more coverage on page 18C than TCU, and a picture of Casey Fitzgerald. I would think the TCU fans would wonder why NT gets more coverage than they do, when Ft Worth is a few miles closer to Dallas, they draw bigger crowds, and they have a very good team, year in and year out. Can anyone else back me up on this?
  13. It looks great! I'm surprised that you folks are not complaining, that it looks just like Ford Stadium at SMU?
  14. I have determined that UNT fans' two favorite hobbies are pondering a new football stadium and all the ways in which SMU has undermined the Mean Green. I have been saying the same thing for exactly one year, but Vito is not hammered for speaking the truth.
  15. WOW! Click on to the parking, and Boulevard links, and look at those prices!!!!! Are you kidding me? And a number of those things are sold out? UNT needs to hire a couple of their sales and marketing people, we can get this new stadium thing rolling. http://www.smu.edu/athletics/football/
  16. Hello Poneez, SMU was 1-11 last year, how do you guys get 900 people at that price to come to lunch? And where does the money go? UNT might could use some cash too!
  17. Heard on the Ticket that SMU had almost 900 people, at $75 a pop, for their kickoff lunch today. Is it just me, or is that insane? Mabey we should do something similar?
  18. LOL! Well all of you SMU haters should be able to stay off the suicide hotline for at least a year, like I posted last week, one of the preseason mags said SMU plays 7 or 8 teams that were in bowls last year. June Jones is a great coach, but, I would be surprised if they won more than 3 or 4 games this year. Focus on Todd Dodge, UNT, getting the stadium built, and stop this jealousy of SMU's money.
  19. we're blaming TCU for not playing us, and therefore being cowardly, yellow sissies. I hope you are kidding.
  20. SMU and TCU have been playing football for 90 years or so, they don't need to "create a rivalry". Weather it's TCU or SMU, it doesn't matter, NT needs to stop blaming some other school for not being in a better position. We just need to look in the mirror, if blame needs to be placed. It's not mean ole' TCU or SMU fault, it's UNT's fault.
  21. Don't get me wrong, I think June Junes is a great coach, and without question he will get SMU going, but, I just don't know how much he can do in his first season. I read somewhere, that SMU has 7 teams on the schedule that went to bowls last year, they may be lucky to win 3 this year.
  22. Does NT put billboards in Dallas, or just in the Denton area?
  23. Smart move by Todd, to make sure the public knows what he needs, and expects.
