  1. The offense has been nonexistent the entire game. No reason to allow Fine to play again at this point. Coaches should protect his well-being but I doubt they will.
  2. Only 10-3 is a small victory at this point in the game.

  4. Agreed, the fact there are two SMU threads on the first page of a gomeangreen.com forum is alarming. Thinking SMU sucks when they destroyed us is really a slap in the face to the UNT team.
  5. That team which you say sucks beat UNT by 22 points.
  6. Would special teams be successful if it was flag football?
  7. Wait for those nonexistent in-game adjustments we make at halftime!
  8. For the love of sweet baby Jesus, can we please stop comparing UNT to SMU?! Two totally different schools - one is a public institution and the other is private. One is relatively cheap to attend while the other costs over $70,000 a year. One has endowment of millions and other has over a billion. One has average ACT score of incoming first-time freshmen at 24 while other has average over 30. UNT is UNT....SMU is SMU. Let the Hilltopers do their thing and let's do ours.
  9. I noticed a team that hasn't played well in a very long time, like most of the second half of the season. Today's lack of performance was no different. A Tale of Two Seasons: Unbeaten Hype to Bowl ****Show
  10. Any salary increase should be withheld and given to the fans who actually traveled to watch the ****show in person.
  11. Totally agree. And using a FB formation and running the dive forces those teams who are scouting you to prepare for that formation...and that specific play...and other plays that could be called...and that then reduces the amount of time to prepare for your normal formations.
  12. I think this is our difference in GH. You are "ok" with him because he is still growing as an OC, while I have seen enough and would like to see someone with more experience (or have Coach SL call plays). I respect both viewpoints. There seems a lack of adjustment on our part when the defense adjusts to what we are initially doing. Why isn't a fullback used more frequently to help out, as you suggested? A tight end to help the left tackle? Or when 4th and 1 yard, put the QB under center (the defense might jump off-sides in shock)? For me, it's the lack of adaptability that is frustrating. And when two posters on a message board have "obvious ideas" that would seem to help the team, it is worrisome in that they are not used more often. 🙂
  13. It is the job of OC to implement different formations to help alleviate the rush and provide better protection for MF. I would love to see a tight end to help the left tackle (the tight end after providing some blocking help could easily be used as a last option on a pass play). I would love to see QS used in more play calling to keep the QB run option viable and then follow it up with MF running some (although very limited). It just seems to me that a more experienced OC could make the adjustments based on the issues you identified and be much more creative.
  14. And in those 3 years, he was an outside receivers coach at Washington State. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/washington-state-hires-former-texas-tech-qb-graham-harrell/ Coach GH serves two roles: OC and QB coach. I believe most are happy with him as the QB coach as Mason has developed into a better quarterback each year. My guess is most are unhappy with his role as OC and the play calling. I never really understood the OC role under Coach GH when Coach SL could have performed those duties or hired someone with much more experience. The offense is really good, at times, but I happen to think it could be much more productive.
  15. ^^^^ This And, let Mason call some of his own plays in NM. He could pat his helmet 9 times to signify the 9 win season and to let us know that the upcoming play was his decision. And on the last play of the game, while in the victory formation, he could pat his helmet 10 times. I think that would be fun to watch.
