  1. It will have been 10+ degrees above freezing for over 5hrs before tip off tomorrow. Today's sun is already doing a good job melting the street slush/snow here in Plano. Also will get above freezing for 2 or so hours just before sun down today. They absolutely should not cancel/move the game.
  2. There's a few of us that workout under the #UNTMEANGREEN tag you can assign to yourself pre-workout. I stumbled upon it one day when looking at other local tags. As expected there's a whopping 24 members, but none the less I'm still repping the Mean Green during workouts. We have a Tread and a OG Bike. Wish I had the old Tread+ before they figured out it was eating children. Slatted like the Tread+ are the bomb. Our two Pelotons might be the only things that keep me moderately in shape lately.
  3. https://businessofcollegesports.com/name-image-likeness/smu-supporters-plan-to-fund-1m-annually-for-nil-startup-ponyup/ I'm sure the SMU Athletics Dept had NOTHING to do with getting this NIL program setup that happens to benefit their players. Maybe when the the Lovelace Family or whoever calls Wren promising to wave around a check for baseball (as the stories go at the occasional AD press conf) Wren should instead encourage them to setup a independent program similar to SMU's that helps these kids immediately get NIL money. Otherwise the only NIL deals coming out of Denton will be a once a week free hamburger from RipRocks or all you can eat Fried Rice from Mr Chopsticks.
  4. Exactly... If Seth & Co can't do what it take from wins, training, in game performance, promotion of the team, and promotion of the players to get these kids into the NFL then I'd recommend the kids go elsewhere too. How many times on Sunday when they're introducing the starting line do you hear "...from University of North Texas". These young players notice this too. Playing D1 football just to get a piece of paper is may be cost effective from a $$$ perspective vs paying 2020 era tuition, but long term its a hell of a way to destroy your body just to save money. I don't know why any of these guys would play if they didn't have real Any Given Sunday ambitions.
  5. If you follow both brothers on Twitter they're getting a ton of P5 offers... Not just Penn State.
  6. People may think this, but for years we methodically leave Central Plano 55-60 mins before our Thursday 7p (and occasional 6p) games and make it to the Pit Parking 10 mins before tip off. I could see it being a bit longer if you're inside of Belt Line Rd or 635, but I'd guess there's enough semi interested alumni in Collin and Denton Counties to fill the Pit 10x over. The problem is I'm not sure some alumni know how good the team is. I think the Alumni Association not having in person events in Dallas, Ft Worth, and Collin County in 2 years (I think the last Stonebriar CC event was pre-CV19) is starting to take a toll on Mean Green interest. They did a decent job of repping the programs. Also you can't discount how much Littrell has f'ed up interest in BB by having a year over year crappy football performance. Football is a gateway for interest in other sports, especially when alumni interest is so fickle at UNT. UNT could try brining two tour busses to central spots in Dallas, Ft Worth, Legacy, and McKinney and offer to shuttle fans to Denton prior to the games. Even if they filled half of four 56 passenger buses, that could be 100 more people brought to the pit.
  7. We'll be where ever we play first round this year. I still have great regret for not jumping on a plane to see last year's R1 game in person.
  8. Watched it from our inlaws house. Wish we could have been in Ruston and not out of state. Amazing win! GMG
  9. Is it "SMTTT"? AKA: Southern Miss To The Top *cue stupid Mississippi eagle noise*
  10. The Green House always looks like an awful arena.
  11. Basketball team is torn up by all the bad football news?
  12. I'll miss seeing his parents at the away games. They're good people. At this point I'm quite sure Littrell is a Okie Grifter.
  13. He still is a bad Quarterback and we need to want for more than twice washed up transfers.
  14. If Cam Rising had been QB for Utah the first 3 games of the season Utah could have been in the hunt for CFB Playoffs this year. Charlie Brewer deserved to be benched there. Ask Baylor fans what they think of him if you're bored. Charlie Brewer is not a good QB and if he succeeds at Liberty it's only because its a weak conference. If Brewer is the best we can get from the portal we might as well spend time developing a QB in house... Couldn't be much worse than Aune.
  15. The Old Denton crew in the Hub Club Country Club loves his country Coach Taylor Friday Night Lights approachable swagger. Just like everyone is happy with how crappy the food has gotten up there, they're also still thrilled with the performance of the Mean Green Football Team. They should change the Hub Club button on the Apogee elevators from "3" to "6" because most of the people up there just want to "Hit 6" every year.
  16. To remove it makes little sense unless we're getting an end zone suites type facility similar to Southern Miss. It's safe to assume the natural next addition to Apogee is actually the additional rows on the visitor side bleachers for which the over engineered supports under the tiny bleachers look perfect for. After that I'd assume you have a AD facility upgrade in the south end zone with possible premium seating and suites and then you have a conversation about replacing The Wing® with something better. Bear in mind we're probably $75m to $100m down the road in improvements at this point if we've gotten that far. While the seating is less than ideal, it continues to be the perfect cheap GA seats and has a cool architectural element that most stadiums our size don't have. It would cost too much to remove unless we had something really awesome to replace it with (and we don't). I'd like to call out that the AD has talked a big game about new premium seating/experiences with the eventual AD building end zone expansion but we aren't exactly filling the Club section up more than maybe 50 percent in the years I've set up there. I have had the seats next to us filled one game in 5 seasons by a couple I've never seen since then; but the ticket dept swears the multiple times I've bought extras that those seats are filled and I can't buy them. The couple on the other side of us bought 2 seasons and have been gone the last two (maybe covid but I doubt it). You really think they're going to build an end zone club section that isn't connected to the current Hub Club that the AD has to staff another bar at and have another half ass plastic container buffet at? Doubt it.
  17. This is the first thread I've read since Seth melted down in the Bowl game... Glad to see UNT Football is getting ready for another middle of the road #OldDenton dumpster fire this year! I probably should tap out till late August.
  18. And the didn't even need the 2020 season money gun to get the kids there!
  19. I've sat in plenty of bars watching UNT games on my phone and earbuds. I know he just moved out of the Dallas area, but he should have expected this. It was hard enough to get a bar in Plano to play the UNT March Madness games last year and they were actually on a real TV channel.
