  1. It boggles my mind why anyone is high on Aune after last season. It was the, very literal, on field translation of the word "Meh". As for slack, just go for whoever wins the camp. Don't pull and swap and twist and whatever we did last year. Whoever shows the best product just go with it. Caveat: unless they put up a performance on par with Greer and Mcnulty, then you pull them. I'll never forget that first snap at UT with Greer...
  2. https://sports.yahoo.com/big-12-pac-12-meeting-200038490.html I feel like this has some legs to run on, makes a lot more sense than AAC/Big12 Doesn't help us still... But good business
  3. No interplay with the helmet shape and design. Wouldn't match anything on the uniform. Its the equivalent of a freshmens graphic design final. Simple lines, flow into the helmet. Rich colors that compliment the uniform. Simpler is key, do too much and its just looks like too much (As dictated by a director of financial operations whose only artistic background boasts a "help beat cancer" coloring contest at chili's, which may to this day still be posted on the conroe, TX chili's wall)
  4. These concept helmet/uniforms articles really grind my gears. Maybe 1 out of 10 us usable. Pretty graphics =/= usable outfits. And most are just downright hideous enough for SMU to actually use
  5. He mispronounced bert... Seriously I appreciate his comprehensive view on UNT vs local sports. He doesn't use that green tinted lense, but gives a real a perspective view as any UNT fan could. The 'stache is throwing me off. I think I like it
  6. This is America my friend, land of the free economy. Founding fathers knew that the pursuit of better things (happiness, success, and, of course, more money) drives us to our ultimate potential. Don't like it? Be sure to pack your hammer and sickle on the way out. Buckle up, this capitalist ride is just taking off, and we got a decade of crazy ass football shenanigans ahead of us. I mean... Jason F'n Bean is a starter again. None of this makes sense anymore. I'm just gonna watch and enjoy the fireworks.
  7. Get those Jabs in while you can big boy. Houston is perilously close to being a has been. 2 more years of Dana and you'll be right down in the dumps with us. We can brush each others hair, do our nails together...
  8. Been a pretty crappy week with all the news. Why stop now? Wren was always going to move up. I wish for nothing more than his and our success. What's next... Seth signed to a 10 year extension? Maggots found at Apogee? RV opens a Jimmy johns franchise?
  9. I feel like we all knew this was where it would land for years now. Still sucks to be one of the have nots. That in mind, getting ahead of that portal to pull in players who drop down is our future aim. We won't be landing big recruits (not that we did before...) but we can scoop up the super conference leftovers and dropouts. FCS 2.0
  10. Plus we need to give them something to write about. I imagine there was a nice article after the 2018 beatdown, but we've done nothing worthy of print since. maybe the Phil hire just because it hits close to home. But on field... Crickets.. (Ok, and the peter pan play)
  11. I have commitment issues. I just don't know if I'm ready for that leap in our relationship. Its not U(NT)... It's me
  12. And beat our ass (except one year) ever since. I admire your eternal optimism Plumm.. but we aren’t anywhere near where those green koolaid goggles make us seem.
  13. Not gonna lie Being a UNT fan aside, that would be one hell of a fun conference to watch
  14. Thanks! Not very intuitive, but its is after 5 and drinking time.
  15. That someone is Wren Baker, who so far has done a phenomenal job. We are about to find out if he’s got the marbles to make the big decision and buy out Seth. I believe he will. (All assuming this year goes as expected with a rather bad losing record).
  16. I won’t say it can’t work. But how many FCS games did you watch last year? I watched 2 and I’m a football addict according to the very unhappy mrs. There’s still some money and success in lower rank organizations... but that to me is a worst case scenario
  17. I'm extremely confused by the "winning %" category: A lot of team have a 100%+ score. Kinda degrades the validity of this...
  18. You have to respect this guys High school career. Simply a legend in every way. Maybe got into the college arena too late, who knows. With Riley he is setting up a Dodge Dynasty.
  19. I hate to support the University of North Mexico in any way... but that's an under-served market that brings in some viewing revenue. And I really just hate to play them.
  20. With how swiftly this seems to be moving, this is a do or die year, not just for Coach Mumbles, but UNT in general. We have to ball out and show them we can be a top 80 (or 64 team) or just Rudy ourselves off the field with our own satisfaction. I'm not saying the split will happen this year, or even at all. But if you are planning ahead, you have to assume it will in 3-5 years. College football has to coalesce, it's the nature of business and the rapid expansion the past few decades was not sustainable. a 130 team league? 41 bowl games? Only the diehard few (which obviously is most of us) would watch that. and I skip over half the bowl games every year. I'm torn, because I think a smaller and stronger College football conference would be so much more fun to watch... but I want a piece of that pie too for my team. my very, very terrible team. Who I will still watch every game regardless.
  21. XFL...AAF...all those failed leagues. No one cares if you aren't in the premiere league. The money will dry up and go to the big dogs If we end up in 2nd tier football (P5 Mega conferences, Other Div 1s, FCS) no one really cares about you anymore (unless you are the QB from North Dakota). I expect, if it goes that way, most Div-1 non-FCS will end up moving down. A few will cancel football entirely. The rest will have to follow the majority in those by necessity. Are you really going to tune in for Eastern Carolina vs UNLV bowl game championship? maybe if it's a Tuesday afternoon and I've had a lot to drink.
  22. Utsa... I repeat.... Utsa is ahead of us for any organizational shake up. No one is looking at UNT and saying we deserve a shot at something bigger. Sure, a 1 year track record of wins won't change that. We should be at 4 now. SL 110% dropped the ball and its up to your next coach to clean it up. Wish I got paid 2 mil to do half a job...
