This is fantastic news! Without Morris the team crumbles. Now we get him!

WSU Head Coach Jake Dickert on Morris leaving for UNT
Udomann replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
UNT is a dream job because it got him more money. I don't see anyone (yet) treating this gig as more than a stepping stone. Nor should they.- 7 replies

Do you know how unbelievably low that bar is? 2/3rds of the teams make a bowl. Much less a CUSA bowl where the bottom feeders go. The bowl system has become so watered down that it doesn't matter who plays or doesn't. Its an exhibition match for a few extra dollars. No one cares about 80% of the bowls. Why would the players?

Morris Vision on What North Texas Can Be
Udomann replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
In complete transparency, it felt like the safe/low bar kind of hire. Aside from the UIW experience he really doesn't add more for the role than SL did. When firing Seth, more than anything, I wanted a coach who could re-invigorate the fan base and potential recruits. The "Sexy" hire to get us excited. I don't hate this hire, but I wasn't enthusiastic about it. Overall I like the guy, but didn't fit my personal expectation of the trajectory we needed to take. But he's here, he's our coach, and has full support from me until he doesn't.- 29 replies

Morris Vision on What North Texas Can Be
Udomann replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
He keeps saying all the right things... Might actually make me like the choice. Lets see where this train goes -
This isn't an embarrassing accident. It's a territorial display. Morris immediately establishes himself as the alpha male in front of his own boss, while displaying his progeny as a sign of his successful reproductive capabilities. Truly the king of his domain All hail Coach Eric "the lion" Morris

Allow me to summarize my excitement for this hire: Out of all the coaches we could have hired, he was one of them

Somewhere, very nearby, in a rundown bar where you can hear the water trickle through the ceiling tiles while Mariah Careys "all I want for christmas" has been stuck on repeat for the past 3 years... Seth Litrrell looks up from his half drunk Old Fashioned, squints into the brightly lit TV screen and simply mutters..."WTF?"

The worst thing the administration could ever do is listen to us fans We are fickle, rabid, passionate, and spend half the time with a BAC of .2. Before breakfast. Hell, half of us can't stand the other half, half of the time while not remembering who the other half is the other half of the time that we didn't like. Get Riley or Fuente and call at a week.

Update from Footballcoop.com (Monday Morning)
Udomann replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Glad to hear it. This is too terrible a choice to have any legitimacy -
Monday Morning: Who would you rather?
Udomann replied to MeanGreenDan's topic in Mean Green Football
Kenny Perry is the most unexciting, head scratching, and WTF inducing choice I could imagine. I could not imagine a hire that would have the fans more disappointed than if we just rehired Seth. If Mosley makes that hire, he might as well just leave his keys on the desk when he leaves the building that day... -
Prayers to Coach Traylor on the loss of his father
Udomann replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
UT basketball coach arrested Leach on end of life care Traylor losing his father... Shitty day in college sports. Best of thoughts to our outstanding rivals. -
Horrific news for someone who has literally changed the landscape of how college football is played. Sounds like it's not something he'll pull through, and I truly hope that changes. Legendary person.

Gotta take his shot. I wasn't big on him as UNTs QB, but I hope the guy sticks the landing and is able to do some great things at the NFL level
-
Sure, it's likely a loss. But our recent changes show that the University and team deserve our support now. If Seth was still there, I can understand a little light protesting by not going.

I think the general consensus is that OBJ isn't a prime receiver anymore, but a good 3rd. When you put Gallup/Lamp/OBJ on the line the defense is going to struggle covering that since all 3 can be legit threats, even with a bad knee. Sounds like he's still in recovery, probably wouldn't play until 2023. Problem is, he's 3rd string WR at best now, but probably asking for 1st/2nd money, at which point, why didn't we keep Coop? Cowboys Cornerback needs are far more important now than getting OBJ

I love cobbs about a much as any green bleeding American can, but he's really still at best an entry level HC. Maybe if he had a solid OC job to refer to. I feel he might benefit from HC time at FCS first. He's done fantastic work with your RB room, and they love him. I think he could find something entry level very easily

Breaking News Seth Littrell has been fired.
Udomann replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Nothing was going to help out chances. Boise was gonna spread us in toast and eat us for breakfast
