  1. $6 a pop and only General admission. Not a bad Wednesday night outing for the fam.
  2. Just bought my tickets for the family and CAN'T WAIT!
  3. Whoever Notre Dame goes to will have it all, really. Big XII and PAC 12 are in a position to offer enough, but likely won't win, even over independence.
  4. Now a 4 seed in the Florida region. Would be a fun game to go to!
  5. Only a 3 position drop, which is surprising. I'll certainly take it, but it makes me wonder what a larger win would've done. Pushed us up a spot or two?
  6. Despite the recent losses, I still have UNT. UAB was a preseason darling, but they just haven't played up to expectations.
  7. It's hard to beat teams twice in one season, much less 3 times. That's how the saying always goes in college football, but adapting it here. If given the chance, I don't think we lose the 3rd time.
  8. My first take is that this is a positive change for schools, but a 50/50 for the players. The previous rules allowed players to exploit the system when they didn't get the start treatment they expected immediately. Many players transfer to be closer to their families and hometowns, and while that's all and good, others were transferring multiple times to advance themselves only. Programs and the player's own development were significantly impacted by the exploiting players and these short-sighted decisions compounded that. Kids are going to have to make a more serious decision based on the new rules when deciding to transfer, and that's not a bad thing. They'll learn that their commitments mean something more than a single year. These kids all think they'll start immediately because they were the star of their HS team and then warm the bench while they develop into a legitimate FBS player. This will partially fix that, so I approve. Not that anyone asked my opinion.
  9. Ha, I've been here long enough to know that, unfortunately. Believe me, I knew the boo birds would be out for that one. Credit to those 3 schools because they play and recruit well, obviously, and at a higher level than UNT. Truth is, though, we wouldn't beat them, plain and simple. Even with Jimbo Fisher's team in utter shambles, they still pull it out. We might keep them close, but at the end of the day, 0-3. The hope is that Morris can change all of that
  10. We'd lose to half the teams below us in the rankings. I guess I'll take it though!
  11. I was make this same point. Drew is 52 and Mac is 46. Drew isn't going anywhere save for a scandal a-la Art Briles. I'd put good money on Mac taking a major program job like WVU if offered. That said, the offer would have to be pretty decent money-wise to move to West Virginia.
  12. Just for the record, attendance is almost never the fault of the players or coaches. Coaches sometimes. But not often (looking at you Tony effing Benford) THIS MAN CAME IN WITH RECEIPTS! Also, Twitter is an informative place, folks. Go follow Mean Green accounts.
  13. Yeah that whole post got away from me because you hit a chord. Animus toward the city's culture, not you, friend.
  14. And Baylor has enough money to throw at him to keep im there. I was just going to say that I live in Austin, and almost not by choice. I wanted to just quote you because there weren't ever "good ole days." This city has always been a subordinate wanna-be town that thinks it's big time, and only just recently got its first professional sports team. That's not the ultimate measure of a city, but it sure says a lot. This city sucks, frankly. If you want to challenge me on that, name me a major park not owned by the state or UT that's over 352 acres, a major art museum not owned by UT, a functioning traffic system, a zoo that doesn't suck, and really any other feature of a major city over 1,000,000 people. /rant.
  15. FWIW, St. Mary's College has moved up to #8 as of 1/9. Despite the score of our game, that still helps us.
  16. By this logic, we are currently "equals" with Florida International. We are not equals with Florida International.
  17. Right, but it may not be as easy to get there from Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Greenville and others, is what I'm saying.
  18. Then folks can have all the Kason Martin/Jason Bean fun they want living in the past, and the rest of us can continue on with our normal lives
