  1. Flusche was a RS Jr this season.
  2. I wish the North Texas Daily could write stories with Headlines like this...
  3. I am so excited about this game! I cannot wait to be there for this win! (Yes, we are confident, but not over-confident. Just know this team won't be denied!)
  4. We are staying at Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk on Fri and Sat evening. Free breakfast and happy hours help negate some of the cost. I remember parking by a bridge with a nice little walk the last time we played in San Antonio. Will be so happy to get a Win this time!
  5. I just want to thank our Mean Green fans. This is my 3rd year traveling to the away games and I have to say that there were plenty of times when we were far from home and our fan section never said a word. This thread is not meant to go into all of the reasons for that. It is just meant to say Thank You to the fans that have traveled to our games this year and have made their presence known! It is always more fun to participate. Our fans at the Army game did a great job and our players recognized that! I believe we have turned a corner and there will be no reason to not be out there enjoying the games and supporting this team. Let's bring it to San Antonio and Let's Go Mean Green!!!
  6. I don't have a passport...yet
  7. This team is happier than they have been in a long while. They have coaches that believe in them and take up for them. I know they don't want to go back. They will be fighting for every win. Yes we are going bowling...any where but the Bahamas, Please!
  8. There will be 3 of us taking the ferry to the game.
  9. The game day ferry sounds very cool...like a floating tailgate with a beautiful view. But it looks like the trade off is that you won't be in time for the parade and won't have time to check out the campus. The ferry will arrive around 11 am and leaves 45 minutes after the game.
  10. We are winning this week! One thing that we have this year, that was missing last year, is hope. I fully expect that this coaching staff and this team will be better this week, because of last week. We tailgated with the Marshall fans last year. We told them we would return the hospitality when they come to Texas. We were all in green, so no one could really tell who was who...lol! Let's Go Mean Green! Beat Marshall!
  11. I had a pretty good view of this incidence...The guy in the stands was upset that one of the kids in a black shirt(transfer???) had a smile on his face while talking to other players on the sideline. I don't care how offended the fan was, I don't feel like he should have been yelling at the player on the sideline. And when the security guard on the field, came over and asked him multiple times to stop...he should have done so.
  12. I was so thankful to see a large crowd at last night's game. I hope we are able to get a large portion of those people back. I know...just reading comments, some may think that is asking a lot. I was able to talk to a few players after the game and there was a big difference between looking in their faces after the game this year, compared to last year. This year I saw disappointment, but not hopelessness. I heard one of them tell their friends, "Come Back! We will get better." I am not sure he believed that last year. But sounded very confident last night. Please come back on Saturday and support this team that wants to Win! This team won't quit!
  13. The team always comes into the Red/Blue lot 2 hours before the game(or at least they did the last few years)...They are preceded by the band that marches thru to take their spot in line to greet and then follow the team thru the lines of fans. This is so cool, and I feel like most people don't even know this happens. We will be there all day, but I hope our crew shows up in time to enjoy the afternoon and enjoy the entrance of the band, then greet our coaches and players. This will be our first opportunity to let them know that they made the right choice when they chose North Texas....Let's Go Mean Green!!! P.S. We love moochers and we have Green Kool-Aid...Join us!!!
  14. Get the word out! Let the twitter fans know...Let's Go Mean Green!!!
  15. The west side was used by Recreational Vehicles most often when the grass was too muddy (which happened a lot last year). This year, they plan to move to the pavement if the grassy area is too muddy.
  16. There are options(for the Blue/Red Lot)...Being donor at $1000 level will get you a reserved spot for the season...$500 donor can purchase a season pass for $400 and park in what is available when you get there...or a donor at any level can purchase a pass for specific games for $80. Just need to call the ticket office and if there is time they will mail it to you. We stay Saturday night as well...might not be a good idea to drive after celebrating!
  17. Our group will have at least 3 RVs there for Friday night. I can't wait!
  18. What I want to see on Sept. 3??? Is a full stadium. As a parent of a current player, I would do anything to help this team RISE. Last year was hard for everyone. My constant prayer, during this off-season, has been, "Dear Lord, if my son was on what people say was 'one of the worst teams in this school's history', please let him be part of the team that turns this thing around". Maybe last year had to be so hard so that we could have everything that we have now. I am thankful for the big name coaches that decided to come to North Texas with the confidence to right this ship. I am thankful for the new players that have come to this University to help in this quest, but I am also thankful for the players that toughed it out and stayed here and are buying into our New Beginning. My favorite scene from the movie 'We Are Marshall', is the morning of the first game of their rebuilding year. Their new coach is in his home just wondering if anyone is going to show up at the game on that day. He goes outside to retrieve the morning paper and what does he see??? People everywhere...headed to the stadium...excited because it is Game Day! This is what I would love to see on Sept. 3rd. And why not??? North Texas has a venue that is both fun and affordable. Sure--you can stay at home and "see how this team does" before you invest any time or effort, but I am asking everyone to come out and support these players and these coaches. Invite your friends and family to show up. Being part of the game is more fun than just watching the game, or reading about it. Get Fired Up Mean Green Nation! Let's Go MEAN GREEN! It's almost GAME DAY!!!
  19. Turner Smiley is a good kid that will be just fine. I will be rooting for him to get past this and if it keeps the same thing from happening to other kids...then we will all be okay.
  20. Where in NYC are y'all staying (looking for hotel recommendations)?
  21. I received mine at 9:49 am this morning, and mine had the link. It included a photo which had the red arrow to watch the video.
  22. I believe they are conditioning him to be an O-Lineman...The recent departure of a few OL guys makes moving Wylie a good idea.
  23. I understand that several players had the flu this week. I could not find Avery Fortenberry and was wondering what if he was one of the flu victims.
