  1. Will D Smith be in spring training? If he is a real deal, then he and Conner Means and little Mac should have some elevated competition. I know this drove coach Mac crazy last season, along with me. Good thing is that I see a frenzy to improve over last year, I haven't seen too many frenzies to improve in years back. Gotta be Irish Mac.
  2. Welcome home Julius !!!! UNT MEAN GREEN FAMILY.
  3. Got to have a better than 500 season, if not, again, he has to go.
  4. GMG24: Good comments. I think we all feel that way. Tired of sorry Board of Regents and administrative leadership "LEADERSHIP". This university community deserves winning academic and athletic programs, in athletics UNT needs to wake up and get on board. Why the lame leadership?
  5. I agree on the concerns expressed about QB assessment by staff. Feels like we were not properly prepared or ready for prime time last year.
  6. Damn it you guys, now I'm excited about UNT football again. Send me my season tickets, heat up the hot dogs, get me a cold brew. We're back again. GMG
  7. Coach Wintrich really changed the physical character of the UNT football teams during his time here. You could literally see the improvement and growth show up on game days. I knew he would probably move on as gifted young people wanting career growth move on. So best of luck Coach Wintrich at BYU, thanks for what you did at UNT. Get us another good one Coach Mac !
  8. Babe's good humor and candor have always reminded me of Dandy Don Meredith on TV and radio. Yes he has been a great guy for UNT.
  9. Hope this great kid and others we're after make it to the Mean Green Nation. I am so anxious to see UNT bounce back ! Guess I got spoiled by that cool Heart of Dallas Bowl victory year before last.
  10. Brelan getting signed by the Steelers is wonderful news for our young UNT hero. This great kid deserves a shot, he won games for UNT.
  11. I know the P5s do not want a non P5 play off bowl game, but... not all of the games we love to watch in bowl season are pure P5 bowls. So do you think that P5s will still be a part of a tradition rich bowl system playing non P5 programs. What's the future of bowls. ?
  12. An NCAA football playoff bowl system is in place now and some P5 coaches have talked about not playing Non P5 football programs in out of conference games. So my question is, in future bowl games outside of the P5 playoff system will P5 schools still want to play Non P5 schools in the various "other" bowls? Or, will it pretty much be as it is now where "when invited" a P5 school can either accept or refuse the invitation? Seems like even a P5 school would want whatever extra money and/or notoriety that's available.
  13. I'm surprised at the DCI Bowl attendance shown in the above pics. I figured Miami and South Carolina fans would travel better.
  14. Does anyone know what the La Tech / Illinois attendance was at today's HOD Bowl game ? Just wanted to compare it to the 2014 UNT / UNLV game. Looked like both teams had pretty fair attendance. Glad CUSA won, wish it had been UNT.
  15. If this UNT team can play with this consistency on going then the worm has turned. GO MEAN GREEN...!
  16. Outstanding, thanks you guys. I'll pass this along to others who have asked me. Really helped.
  17. What is the value of gray shirting versus red shirting versus neither status? I know it's F-ball 101 but sometimes I have a hard time fitting the value in to the overall longevity of the team.
  18. This looks like a very good pick. Cosh has extensive experience and knows McCarney. Should bring a comfort level back to Mac. I'm encouraged !!
  19. Craig looked good on the interception. Nice to see another UNT alum making it in the NFL.
  20. Hey, I like the UNT / SMU series. It could really keep north texas metroplex football alive, bitter and on the map . smu hates UNT and vice versa. TCU won't last for long in the 12, just no way, too much money needed for the long haul, too little available in the LONG haul. UNT needs to hang tough and not get weak kneed, if so it could finally become the big dog of metroplex football.
