  1. UNT is obviously the best offer. I could compare each school and program line by line. Suffice it to say UNT would be his best choice.
  2. I'm thinking SMU getting TA&M to play a home game in Ford stadium was a flashback to the old SWC days and that TA&M was doing smu a favor in part because of that. None the less, since our seating is similar to Ford stadium's, why can't UNT draw a Texas A&M to Apogee? Politics? Money? It's who you know not what you know? What do we need to do?
  3. We talk a lot on this board, maybe some of you are making the point to regents ,others, etc. I doubt that the right people read our internet conversations.
  4. Harry's above post is absolutely on target. I support his comments and analysis 100%. I would love it if we dedicated fans could collaborate and get a hard copy of Harry's letter/post to the leadership that matters. I want my University to succeed !
  5. Let's get some FB transfers. I feel bad for their fans, players, coaches and students ! Sounds like U of Alabama didn't help UAB any, that sucks, but not unexpected. The P5s want to suck up everything for themselves. I hope their new system falls apart soon, which I believe it will and need another D-I make over.
  6. Photo of boy hugging officer at Portland's Ferguson protest goes viral | http://t.co/ww68BN2L99. God bless America !

  7. If Zac Whitfield had gotten that ball and ended up in the end-zone we would be erecting a statue of him in Mean Green Village. It didn't work and so no statue this year. Shake it off #23, there are twenty-two guys who play four quarters, there were lot's of other chances to win. Can't wait for more UNT football in the spring, Go Zac W, Go Mean Green !
  8. Mac and the boys need to pull this one out. Next year's season tickets are already calling me and I want a bowl next season. McNulty, Means, Dajon? I think Means becomes number two, don't believe Dajon is totally invested. Wish he was. Maybe, just maybe, but Means is and he has good stuff.
  9. Yea tho I walk through the valley...but who wouldn't be real worried...
  10. Lot's of frustration expressed in all of these posts on this topic. I think we all hit the concrete really hard when we fell back to earth after having a 9-4, bowl win season. It was an unexpected and very hard fall. I believe that the only real impact we fans, students and alums (who aren't millionaires) can have is to write or contact members of the BOR , same as we do congressmen, and let them know how passionate we are about our university and that we demand that they prioritize the athletic program. I am not minimizing research and academics, but this issue of athletics puts a major spotlight on UNT. Success at the HOD bowl brought huge tangible and intangible benefits for UNT, the BOR should be loud and clear that the momentum gained in 2013-14 be aggressively maintained.
  11. Since I'm not as immersed in basketball as I am in football, could someone explain the difference between shooting and making three point shots in the Jones / Benford systems. It seems to me that under Jones the team shot and made a lot of three's. Under Benford the team can't seem to buy a three. Is that because of offensive strategies and focus of recruiting? Or just plain bad luck?
  12. Excellent assessment Harry, thanks. There is also the Skladany factor. I feel confident Mac has a short list ready, but again Mac is losing a capable and long trusted friend.
  13. All Jordan has to do is growl real loud, lay down and roll toward the opposite team's line. Y'all remember Ed "Too Tall" Jones of Dallas Cowboy fame? Great pick up, welcome to the Mean Green Nation Jordan. Plan on winning, plan on bowls.
  14. I have never seen this before. How sad, and disappointing for an important public official. I hope she gets help now that her addiction has been exposed.
  15. Can't wait for tonight's game against UTEP. If we win it marks team progress and opens up legitimate possibilities. Go Mean Green !!!!!
  16. Glad for the win, but the struggle doesn't help my confidence any. Game should never have been in doubt. GMG
  17. My Brother - Pfc Dale S McWright 45 RPM: http://t.co/zC09vxQl6k via @YouTube I was wi Dale when he died in Nam, then went to Cogido, VN

  18. Now I've listened to the Podcast replay... Couldn't agree more that player evaluation , specifically at the QB position, for some reason failed. Mac has probably already had several migraines about that. As a CEO I got my butt kicked a couple of times TOO, but good leaders rapidly adjust. Mac is a good leader and good for UNT and its community, but he will have to act on this issue. He knows he can't just hope for the best. Your comments on the O-line... again, I think if any of our QBs could read the defense, and then make a few consistent passes, the run game would break open. I don't blame the O-line for the lack of run production. If I am the other team's D-Coordinator I would simply box in and blitz all the time with these QBs. If a pass gets completed on me, not really a big deal, probably won't happen much - so box-in. That's not the O-line's fault. I really do see UNT improving in the future. It has too many tangibles in place of late; bowl win, stadium, student growth, nice looking red shirts and renewed interest developing. I would like to hear Harry and Evan discuss how the G-5 conferences might organize to put out a great college football product in light of the new semi-pro P-5 carve out. Maybe I missed a previous discussion, my bad. GO MEAN GREEN, BEAT FAU. RUN THE TABLE MAC !!
  19. Somehow I screwed up last night and couldn't get into the audio portion of the podcast and I really missed it. Jumped in and out of the Chat room but nothing worked for me. Glad to have the replay of Harry and Evan. Cogido
  20. I'm all in. But ditto Harry.
  21. Texas athletic director: With new rules, Longhorns will pay each player $10,000 http://t.co/qF3SKsXLU5

  22. Good luck to our damnable little pony neighbors, but my MEAN GREEN are going to make some noise.
  23. Mac's not about to let this crap happen again next year. I think that this year he relied on Canales and Skladaney way too much and both sides of the ball have bombed. He needs better help.
