  1. Navy is Army, except they can keep you accountable with a passing game.
  2. Could he play both ways like Myles Jack? Is that a possibility at this level with this staff?
  3. I'll take whatever I can get versus whoever I can get. (Not army and decent match-up are my preferences)
  4. I'm 100% in your camp. And so is stone cold.
  5. This isn't even a real topic. It's an overreaction.
  6. Yes a username on internet forum makes me sound like an idiot. The effect it has had on my life has rattled me to the bone. I think i'll sit here and rethink my life entirely because of this great point you have made. You are wise beyond human comprehension. Thy Davy Crockett inspired wisdom, cherry-picked from an internet quote site, has awakened me.
  7. I'm well aware. I chose this name because it puts old fuddy duddy fans like yourself on tilt. People showing up making this sound at the stadium is better than an empty seat.
  8. We did go over every single D1 team. And then the top of the FCS. Because FCS - G5 change in a similar manner to P5/G5 any really wrong moves we would have made would correct themselves over time. I totally see the validity of moving UTEP to the Pacific side of things. NMSU is bad, T-state is bad and Sam Houston is on top of their league. There were several teams we didn't like relegating to FCS, but the numbers had to be balanced for the system to function best. If you could give me the schools you'd take out NMSU etc, it makes it easier for me to consider the change. In FCS where they belong. We figured Sam Houston could beat them. I'm up for being wrong though.
  9. Anything you would change or conference shake up you think we missed?
  10. Hello Folks, I a lot of time with a buddy talking about our dream scenario of realignment. Please note it was part geography and part competitiveness that drove it. I'm obviously a North Texas fan (G5) and he's a Notre Dame fan (Indy P5). So first let me hit you with how the CFB Playoffs work now in the wonderland before we go any further. 12 Teams, 10 conference champions and two at-large bids. Very March Madness like on a smaller scale. Obviously, 4 teams would have a first round bye depending on the ever-loathed ranking systems. Everyone gets a shot, even if they'll get dumpstered in the playoffs. Straight and clear path, no excuses, no east coast bias, etc. With all that being said, there is still an obvious stratification of P5 and G5. This leads to a huge financial difference. How can we at least give the little man a shot at the big money? There are 10, 12 team conferences. The five P5 have a direct G5 affiliate. Why does this matter? We want CFB to work like the Premier League (that's soccer). The division champions of the G5 league will square off not only for the playoff game but for the right to pick which division they will land in in their affiliated P5. Both division champs are moving up anyway, it's just a little kicker. If you finished in last in your division in P5, better luck next year, you're moving down. While I won't go into detail about FCS, it could theoretically work the same way. So what does moving up get you other than a harder path to the CFB Playoff? The almighty dollar. We all know the money is better up there and if you can stabilize yourself in your new shiny P5 league, you can reap the exposure rewards as well. It will also be a very quick litmus test to find out if and where a team really belongs. In order to do this we made some realignment decisions. This is what that looks like: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qaen8H0lEzs4HOVQDmLIvDtfZYpcVqLtssDXDsKU5y4/edit?usp=sharing Southwest Pacific Midwest Atlantic SEC Lonestar Division Lewis Agriculture Continental Jazz Texas USC Notre Dame Va Tech Georgia Tech A&M Utah Pitt Louisville Auburn Baylor San Diego State Penn State Virginia La Tech TCU Colorado Ohio State West Virginia LSU Texas Tech BYU Nebraska FSU Georgia Houston UCLA Missouri Florida Miss State Native Division Clark Industrial Coastal Bluegrass OU Washington Michigan Miami Ole Miss OSU Washingotn St Michigan State UNC Tennessee K-State Cal Iowa Clemson Vanderbilt Arkansas Boise St Minnesota Navy Kentucky Arizona Stanford Western Michigan Temple South Carolina Arizona State Oregon Wisconsin Duke Alabama Southwest Light Pacific Light Midwest Light Atlantic Light SEC Light Lonestar Light Lewis Agriculture Continental Jazz UNT Air Force Cincinatti Marshall Tulane UTSA San Jose Purdue Old Dominion Southern Miss SMU Utah State Indiana Appalachan State ULM Rice Hawaii Ohio USF Georgia Southern UTEP Fresno State Miami (OH) UCF FIU Sam Houston Eastern Wash Akron Charlotte ULL Natives Light Clark Industrial Coastal Bluegrass Tulsa Wyoming Northwestern Syracuse Western Kentucky Kansas Oregon State Illinois NC State Troy Ark State ND State Toledo Maryland Middle Tennessee Iowa State UNLV Eastern Mich Rutgers Memphis New Mexico Idaho Central Mich Boston College Wake Forrest Colorado State Nevada ND State Army South Alabama There is some room for negotiation or suggestion on the realignment but this is what made sense to us. Hope this was at least entertaining and i'd love to hear your thoughts. (Yes i'm aware this will never happen). Edit: For the Record. I wanted to call the SEC the Deep South.
  11. I guess I just didn't see it. normally the first place i look. Thanks for the coverage.
  12. I couldn't find the huddle, but he was at the game last night according to twitter: http://247sports.com/player/davien-ford-46036902 http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/rockdale-tigers-(rockdale,tx)/football/stats.htm Update: Here's the team huddle http://www.hudl.com/team/v2/15648/boys-varsity-football/videos
  13. Yeah, however we get more of this, let's do that. It's cool to have real analysis for our game instead of pawned off secondary coverage. This was awesome. For the record I loved McNabb as a player so I may be a little biased lol.
  14. I would like this one: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baltimore-sports-blog/bal-former-gilman-quarterback-kai-locksley-transferring-from-texas-after-season-20161017-story.html He retweeted McNeil's UNT offer. Would be a nice pair of four stars to add. Could play Receiver at an elite level as well.
  15. As far as impact I could see him having an impact similar to Marcus Trice who was a highly recruited high school player who transferred from OU.
  16. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/188224/deandre-mcneal http://www.hudl.com/athlete/671741/deandre-mcneal McNeil was suspended from the Longhorns indefinitely after an unnamed infraction of team policy. Transferred out with the goal of going back to D1 as soon as possible. He is a sophomore this year at a California Junior College. Real 4-star prospect with offers from Alabama, Miami, A&M, UCLA and more. We did offer out of High School. Great potential play maker. I hope the off the field stuff is cleared up. Tweeted that we offered today.
  17. One other offer is better than no other offers. Glad to see a progression of offers and things this week. I need to watch the film but excited to see recruiting activity in general.
  18. The only one i've seen on social media is Sulphur Springs QB/WR/CB: http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/ryan-humphries/HKCLEiRFEeS00gAmVebEWg/default.htm By the looks of it knew Willie Ivery. HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3914136/ryan-humphries
  19. Billy, thanks for taking the time to put this together. I really appreciate it. I don't think we are just hugely disadvantaged, I was just curious what the perceived advantages were. I agree recruiting-wiser we're in a geographical position to capitalize more than most of our C-USA and P5 competition. That still doesn't convince a kid to come to UNT. I'm sure you're right that part of it comes down to leadership and management. But I do believe our recent history hurts us a good bit. If you've lost repeatedly to the competition who does make it out there (La Tech and UTSA come to mind), it's a pretty easy selling edge. I'm interested to see if Seth really means he only cares for guys that fits his system and not rankings or offers and if that translates to wins. Again, thanks for the great read.
  20. I'm happy with the progress and everything. So put me in that camp before we start this discussion. My question is on all these threads I hear, we should be top five C-USA recruiting, we should(n't) be rivals with UTSA, etc. We should be stealing recruits from those guys, etc. Can you explain to me why you actually think that? I get that's where we want to be, but what have we done in comparison to some of these teams that you think it should be that way. I'm not trying to troll anyone, I just want to add to my perspective. I understand we have a long history to our program, but honestly our last .500 coach was Jerry Moore. The last guy to go above .500 was Hayden Fry. That's 36 years of mostly mediocre season. Of course some parts of the Dickey Era and the 2013 season. But what would make those things a given? I think we're going to have to earn that status. I don't we should be, I think we want to be.
  21. Actually, I get full service with AT&T in Apogee. Always burn my battery checking other scores around college football.
  22. As I yelled from the stands: I've made better calls without cell phone service.
  23. My bet is that Augie would be a walk-on or preferred walk-on at this point. Maybe I'm just being hopeful.
