Blah blah blah. The 70s and 80s were literally 40-50 years ago. All of those players are senior citizens now and at least half of the fans plus most of the folks in charge from back then are dead now. We live in a "What have you done for me lately?" world. SMU has done jackshit and Jack has left the building. You can get butthurt at my comments all you want, but the reason I am here is because of the over the top responses I get on here for breathing. Other than that, I have nothing against UNT. I do however hate SMU just like I hate the Techtards in Lubbock, the nerd school nearby, the people who mistake their farts for air freshener in Fort Worth and the cult in College Station. The people in Austin and Waco aren't even worth mentioning. So I can roast SMU all day and not get bored.

SMU was punching the air after seeing Utah, TCU, Rutgers, Louisville, BYU,Cincy, UCF and especially dear old UofH get elevated to a P5 conference. You have no fans. You have no recent football or basketball success. You even tried to rebrand yourselves as "Dallas" even though The University of Dallas already exists. SMU even divorced the Methodist church for a chance at the P5. When ALL of this failed, You guys resorted to buying your way into a P5 conference. The jury is out on if this will work, but I predict SMU may try going independent in football if this falls through.

Always. Everything that had ever happened to them is somebody else's fault. They were "screwed" out of the ACC by Louisville. They were "screwed" outta the SEC by Tennessee and Ole Miss Now they were "screwed" outta the Big 12 by us apparently. According to them, they were the 4th team in but we allegedly went to Gov Abbot and Lt. Gov Patrick, made multiple threats in the state legislature and bumped Memphis for the 4th spot. Take the victim mentality UNT has at times, pump it with steroids and you get Memphis. Surely it has nothing to do with the fact they don't play football or basketball on campus, have poor academics, no research dollars and Memphis being a shithole.

The best part about being a fan/alum of a new P5 school is watching SMU, USF and Memphis kick, whine and scream about it.

All 23,500 of them were purchased by me.

We also host Oklahoma State, Sam Houston and UTSA. This was all one hell of a coincidence, but we dont even leave the state of Texas until Oct 28 when we go up to K-State.
