  1. Seems nobody brought this up as a topic yet.. would be interesting for the QB situation: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/archives/2012/05/brock-berglund-decision-could.html I don't know how much eligibility he still has. I guess 3 Years but did not check
  2. I stilll don't get that SMU to big east thing... so you go out to save a conference on the east coast with exactly one decently close team and everything else faaaaar away. But what is in it for SMU? You could say its for the AQ...but its not gonna be here anymore....you could say that was not clear then...but there had already been a whole lot of talk about MWC/CUSA getting their own AQ or the AQ being abolished. It was already a realistic possiblity. You could say its for the money... but SMU already has money... and with the teams that are gone and no AQ there really will not be enough money to justify punishing all your non-revenue sports and and getting beat 80-35 in basketball about 3 times a season...and the money is not gonna be nearly as good as people think. Ok all those nice NCAA bids in BB, but people are gonna be surprised how small the TV-offer will be with the new football lineup. ESPN does not need the Big east anymore to cover the east coast. NT-fans understand what advantage it is to be in the center of your conference, and not at the fringe. I always though that move was less than ideal for both sides, but I understood that the big east had to do something to survive....but i never understood what $mu got out of it, and I get it less and less.
  3. Ok guys. Sorry I seem to have missed something in the last few days. I thought ODU was also going to be added to CUSA. What happened there? Was it just a wrong rumour? Is it still gonna happen, or did either ODU or CUSA say no in the end? Thanks for bringing me up to speed
  4. wouldn't they have to have a majority? I doubt that anyone except Big ten and some of the Pac 12 Presidents is willing to block it... I don't think that gets them even close to a majority
  5. Nahh come on it won't be that bad... USM will come to Denton
  6. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/7879241/unc-charlotte-49ers-decline-offer-sun-belt-conference-source-says Looks like Charlotte had already been Contacted by Benson, but chose CUSA over the Belt. Guess it is only a question of time till Georia Southern and Appalachian State find an invite in their letter box
  7. Why not 2 (times here) for 1 (at their place). I would do that.
  8. Perhaps we should arange some football games with UNLV in Denton... that would be a short trip!
  9. Well TV money may be better for the moment, but you also spend nicely on the non-revenue sports, and all that travel... tiring. What is more: if Boise should go back to the MWC, because without the WAC they'll have a hard time parking their non-revenue sports anywhere, then where is the big easts football perception gonna be? Are recruits gonna see much of a difference between big east and MWC and CUSA? In any case, if there is no AQ anymore, that is bad for the Big east... and $MU I would just feel more comfortable if we finally had an official statement about the CUSA thing.
  10. pretty slim with all the autobids factored in, we ought more to be like in the high low 60ies or high 50ies
  11. That is so possible... If we are moving fast enough now.. I am nervous for our CUSA move to become official as soon as possible, because of the fear that without the AQ boise turns a TCU on the Big east and then SMU and houston might want to come back too (for what is the Big least without Boise football-wise but a long travel conference) ! If UH and SMU try to move back before contracts are signed, it might still screw UNT. If CUSA feels that it is becoming more and more realistic that their members come back, they might think once more about letting new teams in. Particularly if those are in the same market.
  12. last 3 holes 14 shots up... Another title for UNT. 2012 is really nice so far
  13. Hmmm you must have different numers than golfstat for this course. They say the course is 7371 yards and the longest hole 611 (long enough mind you). I found several par 3s below 200 and the shortest par 4 at 379. Anyway...the course is equally long for everyone... the title is there for the taking .. go mean green
  14. Maybe... but it sure feels better to be on this side of such "takeaways"
  15. I guess that means they have a decision... all the better, they can now concentrate on the mens search.
  16. Am I the only one whos sunbelt extra live feed is not working?
  17. Well while I applaud Denver for their good run and jacking up this years respect and RPI for the conference.... as far as I know they will leave the Belt next year for the WAC, and I sure want UNT and the blue raiders and even USA to demolish them as often as they play them this season. It is not a lot of use if they are good and then next season every commentator will say that we lost the best team to -of all possibilities- the WAC.
  18. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/7319354/denver-pioneers-lead-week-mid-major-report-college-basketball also: wonder if there is any chance the belt might be a two bid league this year? I guess Denver beating Iona would go a long way there
