  1. I think they do this to see if something will come around in the next two years.... it is just that the MWC, CUSA and sunbelt are more probable to take FCS candidates, even if they do have open slots. Idaho is just too remote and the facilities too bad... and it does not look like any of those 2 things are gonna change in the next 2 years
  2. Well I think we should post this up in the teams locker room... just to add a bit more motivation and this priceless they don't take us serious anger that fuels some players so fantastically

  4. http://www.lvrj.com/sports/boise-state-beats-deadline-will-leave-mountain-west-160977565.html Here is a link. several others that say Boise got the resignation in from the MWC can be found also.
  5. Everybody seems to be posting a big board.... did not want to be left out this time CBS sports where TM is 8th http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/19445979/goodmans-2013-nba-mock-draft-whos-the-next-no-1-pick
  6. This is gonna get very interesting...and for once in this realignment thing it cannot be draged out forever, the decision will have to be made, because the countdown is running out.
  7. The deadline is Saturday (they need to notify the MTW before end 1 of July). Although the MTW could wave part of the fee in order to keep negotiating with Boise. What speaks against them staying is that the MTW s appeal for inclusion in the AQ for the remaining 2 years was denied yesterday too. But I guess there are still some very good arguments to stay, most having to do with Boise not yet having found a home for their olympic sports... and the BE has not yet offered them to include those.
  8. sure looks cool... this can only have a positive impact on any prospective student scouting UNT out over the net
  9. Wow they are coming in every day now... at this rate the class will be complete by mid july! I lost count, how many commits do we have now?
  10. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/hotseat Just because I like these kind of ratings, and there is never enough to discuss in the offseason... then again I do wonder if it makes sense to put up ratings by people who seem to believe that June Jones seat is safer than Dan McCarney s Job at UNT.
  11. Although you really should not feed the troll ... i have to say that did make me smile
  12. Your point may have merrit.... but please don't feed the troll (I gave you a minus 1 for that)
  13. Hi there, I wonder when the schedule will come out, and what is already known about it? Can anyone help?
  14. http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/tag/_/name/ranking-the-coaching-jobs-060612 So they have WKU as the best coaching job... but they see the same signs of progress at NT, that everyone on this board is seeing. Wonder where NT would have ranked in CUSA
  15. I just wpnder what being the star playerin a home stadium like this does for building the charachter of a 16-18 year old... and I just don't come up with a lot of good things.
  16. I wanted to give this a minus... then a plus... then I gave it nothing... this is just too out there
  17. Hope I am wrong but I fear push at best. The year after should be great though...
  18. I am not claiming to be that knowledgeable...neither about troy nor about the future...nor am I as positive as you describe about JUCOs.I just see it as market thing. If everybody gets very down on JUCOs they will become interesting. The truth is that NT often is rather at the back of the line to pick its High school talent.... sadly enough that don't mean we get to pick first among the JUCOs.... but if the moment should ever come when everybody abandons the Juco route (say nobody has more than 5-6 on their roster and most only 1-2) going anticyclical on JUCOs would become interesting, you could start picking up some real gems.... but right now I am quite happy with how the staff does it... better to only have a few JUCOs and a high rate of "panning out" than many and having a low rate. With JUCOs you got to hit, you don't have muchtime to adjust them to the system and form them.
  19. I would take the 20 best Jucos in the country over the 1201th to 1220th best HS talent any day.... ...but of course I'd take the 1-20 HS talent over the 1-20 JUCO talent even faster. bottom line if nobody goes the JUCO route that leaves good talent to be picked up... but right now there are enough teams like Troy out there building with Jucos. Because of that I feel it is the right now the correct thing to only occasionally take JUCOs: when their upside is really big and the probability of them panning out really good. But some of those are out there
  20. What is even worse: the best round of the day (TAMU) teed off in the same group as our guys. At least Carlos Ortiz is still somewhat in contention to go to the NCAA finals as a single
  21. And just to add for those interested: TCU leads their regional by 8 shots after day 1 and SMU and theri star coach are second in theirs 5 ahead of 6th place... would be nice to keep up with the jonses.
  22. Tief for 4th after the first day. NT is right in this! except for ICLA noone is far ahead and there is NT and 5 to 8 other teams battling out the remaining 4 spots! National final is still a very real possibility. current position team scoring rounds total score to par thru today 1 1 3 UCLA -4 F -4 284 284 T2 34 Chattanooga +6 F +6 294 294 T2 Colorado State +6 F +6 294 294 T4 21 Clemson +7 F +7 295 295 T4 15 Texas A&M +7 F +7 295 295 T4 26 North Texas +7 F +7 295 295 T4 39 Memphis +7 F +7 295 295 8 46 Virginia Tech +9 F +9 297 297 9 Northwestern +13 F +13 301 301 10 11 Arkansas +14 F +14 302 302 11 Iowa State +17 F +17 305 305 12 Jacksonville St. +20 F +20 308 308 13 Pennsylvania +25 F +25 313 313 14 Alabama State U. +31 F +31 319 319
  23. I say that would be right, if it were only Football schools in the Big east they could find a consensus who to add and how that goes down regionally... but with all the basketball schools wanting part in the decision, it iss either split or fold for the football schools...and split is a lot more complicated that just adding in a functional conference. It takes longer and gives schools much more possibilities to back out and do something different. And if more than one of that group bolts, it is pretty much over.
  24. Way to go mean green... winning conference championships never gets old!
