  1. B.J. Lewis has played and caught some balls this year.
  2. I believe all of these guys have been in the game at some point: J. DeSoto S. Dibrell K. Ealey B. Johnson BJ Lewis C. Montgomery M. Mosley AJ Penson G. Vizza That leaves the following guys who I believe have not been in the game yet: M. Davis G. Garden B. Hager J. Johnson M. King J.Padron S. Roberson K. Russo J. Scoggins M. Tomlinson E. Walker
  3. It looks like SMU's Ford Stadium on the inside to an extent. Similar layout. The stands are steeper though, and the concourse is wider. There is not a huge pressbox like SMU's though. It does have suites. There is a 2nd deck on the home side.
  4. The 38 completions were distributed among 5 different WR's. I believe Breece was in on offense when we threw a pick. Or he could have been on a special teams unit like punt or kickoff. Breece did line up at WR a few plays to give Fitz a breather. B.J. Lewis made a few catches scattered over the course of the game. He is a very explosive player. In the secondary, which I must say played a lot better, Bush and Green stuck out to me at CB. Nurudeen did play. I don't recall Ealy being in there on D. Meager's rushing yards seemed to be 1/3 on broken plays and the rest were designed. The offense was running some QB/RB Counter plays out of the shotgun, as well as something that looked like a QB zone play. They only ran the QB Sweep once and it didn't do much because of FAU's speed on the edge. They were vulnerable up the middle, and that's where we attacked them in the running game most of the night. I felt like Coach Dodge & Ford called a very good game. There were certainly some complaints in hindsight, but overall they had a good plan, and did a nice job against an athletic defense. I love how they came out and established Jamario. O-Line did a nice job considering their athleticism. Our blitz pickup looked good. FAU dropped a lot of guys into coverage, so we were able to run the football with good success. The 3 sacks were due to being flushed out of the pocket. Honestly, DM got tripped on a couple of them, or otherwise I feel like he had a good amount of real estate in front of him to make a good chunk of yards. DM did hang onto the ball too long on several occasions. Jamario was effective when he touched it. Probably could have touched it more, but FAU made good adjustments at halftime to defend our short passing game.
  5. Well...they are called 'Suites'. There is one for the Athletic Director and one for the President. Next time you're there, look up at the press box. You'll see the boxes on the left and right of the press box. They are surprisingly nice on the inside. Have good food, TV's, free drinks, etc. They are for the VIP people and boosters to sit in and enjoy the game.
  6. and the game against Middle Tennessee will be a good one!
  7. Lefty will have these guys improving each week! They will be technically sound, and will handle their assignments well. The only problem is when they are out-athleted.
  8. Sweetwater has a wide variety on their menu. You can get fried pickles that are similar to the ones at Hooters!
  9. A.J. is one heck of an athlete with a nose for the ball. His best days are certainly ahead of him. TD is just getting his feet wet this year, and he will be ready to step in at LB and help for 3 years. I feel that he is a game changer on the defensive side of the ball. When at Lufkin HS, Coach Dodge called him "the best defensive player I have ever coached against."
  10. The new stadium design was posted Saturday night in one of the Suites at Fouts Field. Very nice looking. Everyone will like it! It's significantly different than those drawings on the website.
  11. How can you say that FAU was the better conditioned team? They had 3 or more players cramping starting in the 3rd quarter! And this isn't even the humidity of Boca Raton!
  12. You might as well disregard those drawings! There is a whole different look than that! Much nicer!
  13. We have a few options of shifty backs....and they aren't here yet, but they're coming! Lance Dunbar from Haltom is a waterbug, and very explosive. Similar to the back from LSU. Willie Taylor from Hillcrest is an explosive player, who poses a threat to go the distance any time he touches the ball. He may run a 4.5, which is good, however, he plays VERY FAST! Just don't know if TD and co. are going to put him in the secondary, or at receiver, or even line up at RB some? Just be patient. Dodge has the tide turning, and it will continue to improve. Gotta love how Dodge attacked their Defense in the first half with the Inside/Outside Zone plays, the QB/TB Counter plays out of shotgun. Schellenberger said they were going to drop 8 into coverage...and they did, so we ran it right down their throats. Loved it!
  14. It's amazing what a new coat of paint will do! It is good to see that the university is taking pride in their stadium and their program!
  15. Recruits are allowed on the sidelines, and depending on the school they are visiting's policy, can take up to 2 guests with them down to the sidelines.
  16. at least the University is taking pride in Fouts. It is what we have NOW. We need have great attendance to support our much improved product on the field, and establish the foundation for our future endeavors (across I-35). Then we can take our Top 40 football program over to the new, state of the art facility, and not have to worry about repainting very often, or hot bathrooms, or ugly signs! Fouts does look a lot 'cleaner' than it did last year!
  17. Check out the highlight videos of some of these kids on Rivals and you will certainly see they can all play! Dunbar, Taylor, and Brigham are game changers at their positions. Have spoken to some high school coaches who have played against Vernon, and they said Darrien Williams is the best player on their team that has several good athletes. Rucker and Mart are both Top 300 players at their position. Both are big, athletic receivers similar to Sam Roberson of the '07 Class. Franklin and Atkinson are both big, athletic lineman who will certainly make an impact. Obviously Riley Dodge is a game changer. He is the reigning 5A Player of the Year. I'll take those any day of the week. Dodge knows what he is doing. He doesn't need the 5 star athlete to win ballgames. He knows what fits his system, and is recruiting his needs.
  18. Maher, Andrew Smith, and Scott Hall were all very good QB's in recent time at NT.
  19. Dane Johnson---former Texas Tech All Southwest Conference Free Safety. Now the Defensive Coordinator at Hebron.
  20. Very nice, practical place. Not a ton of bells and whistles. Actually, you can tell they cut some costs by using a ton of metal and chain link. They also used cinder blocks for the restrooms/concessions instead of drywall, which also costs less. Similar to the TCU Baseball complex. I love how both places are practical facilities, that are nice places to see ballgames, and yet they don't have golden sinks with Knights engraved in the bathrooms. You don't need all of that stuff to have a functionable stadium that is eye-appealing.
  21. I would love to see more Euless Trinity players at NT. i.e. Trevor Vittatoe, who the old regime never recruited! In living in Southlake for 15 years and knowing Coach Lineweaver from his days as the Offensive Coordinator running the vaunted wishbone at Carroll, he not only knows how to develop football players, but like Coach Dodge, he develops character. Look at Youri Yenga starting for SMU last week. Wish we could have that kid at NT. What about the Robert Johnson kid (#88) the DT? He's like 6'7" 330 or so, and very athletic. Is he being recruited? I'd also like to get on Samir Baker and Dontrevius Robinson over there, as ET backs are always good.
  22. AMEN! Imagine if we give Dodge, Meager, or Vizza the necessary time to throw week in and week out. We could average close to 500 yds a game. Not to mention the ability to open up running lanes and holes on 3rd and short! Dodgeball is exciting!
  23. This offense does not call for 300+ pound linemen. It calls for quick, agile, smart, technically sound offensive linemen to keep guys off the QB. I agree that some of these kids need to gain quality weight, however, they do not have to way over 300 lbs to be a good lineman in this particular system.
  24. The good news is this: We have the reigning 5A Player of the Year coming, and 4A Player of the Year here now that are both Quarterbacks for the Mean Green. We also have the guy who can coach an average QB like Meager into a good college QB. Imagine what he can do with guys like Vizza and Riley who he is recruiting because they fit the specific needs of this system. By the way...what do we call our system? Tech is 'Air Raid', Florida is 'Spread Option'...what do we call ours?
