  1. Not that we will get a stadium built anytime soon, but can someone tell me why they oppose a new UNT stadium like Ford Stadium at SMU? Please explain what is so negative about this facility? I would have this at Eagle Point in a heartbeat. Even the same capacity.
  2. "Dodge said 85 coaches attended a practice just before spring break, even though there was no special event taking place that day." Nothing special going on, yet they still came. When was the last time that happened at NT?
  3. You should have been there in the 1960's. It's light years ahead of the old days back then.
  4. We finally have faces to go with the names of the new coaching staff. FB Coaching Staff
  5. Boy GreenJoe, do we think alike. As I type this from my hotel room in Kauai, Hawaii, preparing to fly to Honolulu, enroute to home, we'll pass over the Battleship Arizona Monument. I don't think the T-shirt theme is appropriate. We should come up with a different theme that is more respective of our men and women in uniform.
  6. Seems like the Mean Green Insider could break out the old video camera and shoot some footage, then posting it on the Mean Green Sports site. Is that too much to ask?
  7. Some day you may be fortunate to meet "hooknbull". He's an ex-NT player from the Hayden Fry era, who, if you ever sit with him at a game, will disect every X and O, and every defensive scheme known to man, each and every play. He really gets into the game and a very fine gentlemen to know.
  8. Did I read somewhere on this board that Ajani Banks will not be with us in the fall?
  9. Not because I'm a veteran, but why not, somehow, recognize all of the veterans in attendance at the Navy game?
  10. Pictures don't lie. My mistake. BUT........before Dodge's tenure at TJ, the helmets were definitely White. I just couldn't remember the years. I'm talking about the late 1950's, early 1960's. That's when I use to watch mighty TJ play when I was a kid.
  11. This response has nothing to do with Smitty's design ability(he's really good), but the NORTH TEXAS on that helmet just doesn't do it for me. Whether we have green helmets or white helmets, give me SOW or NT exes logo on our football helmets.
  12. Hell will freeze over and the aggies will beat UT 20 years in a row before that happens!
  13. Dodge played for Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson HS. And yes, I believe the helmets were white.
  14. I don't understand this at all. I'm not a "big donor" by any means (but I am consistent!), and have parked in the Green Lot for many years. There's still plenty of parking spaces in that lot. It goes all the way to Bonnie Brae so there's plenty of spots. Why move the tailgaters out?
  15. Jeff, I hardly ever disagree with you on anything, but you can't be serious about Howerton?
  16. US Billionaires According to Forbes Magazine, there are 415 known billionaires in the United States. If we could get each of these people to donate a paltry $100,000 each, this year, we could have our stadium. Who's in for an email campaign??
  17. Who could forget the Model T and the Victory Bell?
  18. We need a poll to find out the political makeup of the members of GMG.com. -Democrats -Republicans -Independents -Other
  19. Greendylan, you did such a good job getting North Texas on the list, do you think you could get the editor to put our logo on there too? Give me his email address and I'll send him our logo. Son of Worm must be displayed.
  20. Anyone remember Fred? Washington from the mid '60's? I seem to remember him being 6-7, 270+#'s, or thereabouts. Very good offensive tackle.
  21. This is where the mistake was made. Keeping her after 10 years with such a poor record. Was our Athletic Leader back then so blind that he did not see this?
  22. Armageddon is near. Emmit is pulling for the aggie$.
  23. Old buddy, I'd gladly take a 30,000 seat "SMUish" stadium over what we now have. Our stadium is "high schoolish".
