  1. Never said they were a bunch of scrubs. I said I think NT had superior talent and I will stay with that. Also will re-state Marshall wanted it more.
  2. An inferior team that is 7-9 (6-8). Did you watch the game? I definitely though NT had the talent edge, particularly at the guard position.
  3. Assistant coaches most important function, particularly not coordinators, is recruiting. I believe that playing careers have almost nothing to do with their success. The better known the recruiter, the more likely he may get an initial visit. However, the recruit still has to be sold based on the program. It is about salesmanship. It is about convincing players that NT is where they should play.
  4. Coronavirus reporting is so heavily swayed by politics, it is very unreliable. For any positive slant, there has to be negatives released. Added to the political influences, now you have to be aware of the tremendous financial implications.
  5. Very poor game by NT, they just got beat by a last place team in Denton. They got generally out hustled by an inferior team. Apparently, if Nobles can' t have a big scoring game, this team is in trouble.
  6. The girls won and scrapped it out, this was not a good much less great game player.
  7. They not only could, they should. An old refrain, but CUSA is not a league that is likely to have outstandings teams even at the G5 level. With no clear leader at QB and probably the worst defense in D1 football last year, it certainly will be a challenge. I have confident that the defense is going to rise to at least G5 average nest year, which will be a massive improvement. I think the question is can Aune or any one else on the team be a reliably good QB. Seth has always had very good offenses, if that trend continues; than I can see a team that will be fighting fo
  8. Starters are not often thought of as breakout players. They are expected to get better with experience.
  9. I doubt anyone disagrees with your first two statements. An integral part of recruiting is selling a dream. I doubt NT would be remotely competitive recruiting if they go through an academic qualification evaluation process with potential players. We believe you can start almost immediately, but we are going to have to hid you in throwaway classes and if you don't make it in the pros, you are not going to be qualified for much of anything. The facts are there are very few difficult curriculums for any students. It is passing grades if you bother to show up, be
  10. An where please, would he get that PHD. You know there is some correlation between knowledge and education.
  11. What you have is a prime example of an athlete that should have never been in college under any circumstances. A premier athlete without question, Perhaps the greatest basketball player in NT history based on raw talent. NT certainly gets no kudos for their handling of Mitchell, but I am not sure what NT could do after his NT career.
  12. Well the weather is obviously not the issue and I find it hard to believe the teams can't come up with some bottled water. This decision just makes little sense to me, might has well just call off the season and hope that conditions are perfect for the tournament or they will think of some rationale to dump that too.
  13. Who said it was important for SMU and NT to play in basketball? It is actually very simple, SMU does not need NT for basketball attendance and the last thing they want to do is give NT a chance to beat them.
  14. NT should be seeing if this guy can play football in a hurry. Played in high school.
  15. They are fcs members, Southland conference equivalents.
  16. Well I have attended both, and frankly found the academics very similar. SMU is a much smaller student body obviously, and has a much larger donation base. Nether factor accounts for much to me. SMU definitely has the prestige factor if that is what you want to base your assumptions on. However, there are a lot of private universities that have them easily beat on that. Again, the big factor in football is conference affiliation. SMU is a huge step up in G5 conferences.
  17. The schools are definitely comparable, what are you talking about? I guess NT should stay away from playing other g5 schools like in AAC and WAC, because NT is a lower level of g5. NT should not play its closest rival, because they might get beat?
  18. You give them way too much credit. They out recruit NT because they are in a better conference. Not some great recruiting strategy. The biggest factor in recruiting is conference affiliation. SMU has always had that great advantage over NT.
  19. Baloney tickets sold are bolstered by some imaginary student tickets numbers Smu needs NT for attendance numbers, the several hundred of SMU fans that travel an hour to Denton are pathetic. SMU attendance is basically a function of who they can schedule that brings away fans
  20. Why does anyone believe Loftland if he loses weight will become a better player. His advantage is his size and mobility. The assumption that if he because a 220 lb forward, he would be much better is an possibility, but he could also be a lot less effective.
  21. No one has declared that Ruder is the answer, I wonder why some of you seem to be going to the opposite extreme. Looks to me like he is a fine commitment that may turn out to be a key signing. It is not like Aune can't be improved upon. Competition is key to team development.
  22. Why bring up Gibson, he was recruited by OU and left. Nothing NT could have done to kept him.
  23. Yes, I see a lot of resemblance in Fine's career at NT, and playing in a national championship game. Wonder how NT won any games with Fine with him running for his life all the time.
