I have always thought men's soccer was a no-brainer. Hell, I woulda tried to walk on as a student. We are literally in one of the hotbeds for talent in America as well. The club and high school ranks are littered with guys who would/could bring NT to a top level within a matter of a few years. Also, it really doesn't cost much to maintain given that uniforms/cleats/balls are your only real costs outside of travel. Baseball would be more expensive by far. Not to mention I'm sure we could hold about 15 scholarships aside and the rest could be guys who would gladly play as walkons.

The number one reason we don't want a stadium like SMU's.....drumroll please..... We haven't figured out how to get the funding for ANY stadium yet so we'll settle for complaining about any stadium in principle.

I wouldn't think so. Kentucky has already been turned down by Donovan and others so maybe Gillespie doesn't take the job and UT's coach is the next in line.

I don't personally see a problem with the shirt, I love the humor and I love the effort. With that said, though, I don't think it should be made and mass produced. Make no mistake, I don't think the shirt has ANY bearing on how anyone feels about the war or our servicemen WHATSOEVER but the possible interpretations are potentially damning. If even one naval serviceman or retiree looks at the shirt and feels slighted then I think it's a mistake. Furthermore I think the potential bad press is not what we need. To me it's comparable to NT flying a confederate flag at Fouts. Sure, we may put it up to show our love for our southern heritage but it also screams loud and clear to African-American fans and players a different message. Even the possibility of negative interpretation should be avoided.

In years past I've rounded up a posse of alums/students to go around to parts of Denton and put up schedule posters. We usually hit the square, University Drive, stores around the mall, etc. It's an all day affair and doesn't pay but I think the exposure and positive contact between greenbloods and Denton businesses is a major plus. I'd be willing to come to Denton on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday whenever the schedule posters come out...any takers? Anyone wanna give up a weekday afternoon for the green?
