I'd be willing to bet the answer is quite a bit. Teams don't win titles if the point guard is a liability because he has to touch to ball so often and opposing coaches would eat him alive if he weren't up to snuff. The size of the point guard doesn't bother me unless you're in a position where the opposing team's point guard is long or your point is forced to rotate on defense and finds himself against a big man. By the way, Memphis' point guard who killed us with the penetration wasn't much more than about 6' himself.

QB. This offense is predicated on a QB that knows who to get the ball to and when. If none of our QB's take the job and run with it our offense is dead in the water.

I agree that there should be some incentives tied specifically to winning but the season ticket sales and game attendance incentives won't come without the wins so he could be killing two birds with one stone.

If you had read what I said correctly you would see that I was not trying to take both of them...in fact the contrary is true. Stebo's team was short one body so I was offering a two for one trade. And as to knowing about Rick's friend based on a bio...this wasn't the same as Stebo purposely hiding Andy Blount's identity. Stebo and Steve talked and conspired before the draft even happened to stack the deck against me. Stebo knew EXACTLY who he was drafting. It's just too bad he'll lose just the same.

Talked to Pierow today and he said that he and the misses want to play (and I really want her to play ). Sooooooo....does this mean Stebo gets TDP and I now get the first male pick by default? Can I bring in Dan Marino as long as I give him a screen name and he posts ONCE? On a more serious note...Stebo we'll give you both of the late additions (I think it would give us even numbers) for either QB on your team, preferably FFRick's friend because I want to make Justin 3-1.

Yes that was me that you met on the bus at UT. And my mother-in-law works at Colleyville Heritage not Coppell. I will be sure to tell her she made an impression....she gets a kick out of that stuff.

Parents, and the kids, may well hold the final say in where an athlete goes but don't underestimate the power a coach can have over a kid. This is why assistant coaches are hired all the time because of their "connections to high school coaches in X area". These kids have been under the tutelage of the same man, or woman, for four years in most cases...and in some cases "coach" is a surrogate for "father."

This isn't the least bit surprising. When SMU fired their most recent coach (Billy Tubbs I believe) who was black and very close to Dallas high school coaches they burned more than a few bridges. Many of the Dallas high school coaches vowed never to send their kids to SMU because they don't believe Tubbs was ever given a fair shake. Let's hope they stick by that policy.

So on my days off I have to find something "fun" to do. Here is what Lera and I devised for tonight...it's PG I promise. During American Idol (yes I watch it) we have to take a big drink of our beer/margarita/wine/whatever when any of the following happen: Randy says..."We got a hot one tonight!" Paula gets up and dances. Simon says..."Cabaret" We should be drunk by contestant 4 or so. Feel free to join in.

I just got off the phone renewing my season tickets and asked about the tailgating policies. Here is the scoop. They are switching the orange and blue lots (blue is the largest area right now where $10 parking used to be) to make more room for new donors and are moving the student tailgates into what was the orange lot. So, people are not being forced into the grassy area next to the PEB. If you currently tailgate with the "Greenbackers" you'll still be able to...we'll just have to either pick a new row of parking spaces in the new orange lot or we'll have to keep our old one and just park in blue. I'm just glad nothing has changed for me.

If you want to come get drunk in the parking lot and not attend the game....screw you. We don't need ya. As to moving the tailgating across the street reducing attendance I gotta call BS on this one. Am I honestly to believe that people would drive across Denton, all the way in from out of town, or even just across campus with the intention of attending the game...and then be dissuaded by walking an extra block? Come on. And as to comparisons to "big time" schools. OU has their "campus corner" which is about half a mile from the stadium...or people tailgate at the Lloyd Noble center and then TAKE A BUS to the stadium. At UT people tailgate wherever they can for miles outside of the stadium. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gets the access that we enjoy at NT. Let's stop whining if it means getting monied people into our stadium and involved with the program.
