My understanding is that there were height restrictions imposed by University Park when SMU built Ford Stadium. How much of the money is going to go to the UP establishment to get them approve this? I've always thought that the next step would be to add suites on the east side, mirroring the west side. Some additional seating could be added, but if more suites could be sold, that would pay for it.

TBH, I thought it was Hedlund - getting my decades mixed up. But I see Hudlund wasn't coach of the men's team until 1991, and as we know, he WAS the last men's coach. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hedlund

And you know who the coach was...

I watched the Gunsmoke episode just the other night, and found out he was an NT alum when looking him up on IMDB and wikipedia, and also that he had passed away just last year. A memorable actor. -

It doesn't matter to NT at all. Yes, it should be moved to The Eagles Nest.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LIU_Sharks: The LIU Sharks are the athletics teams representing Long Island University's (LIU) campuses in Brooklyn and Brookville, New York.[2] The Sharks compete in NCAA Division I athletics[3] and are members of the Northeast Conference.[4] The LIU Sharks are the result of the July 1, 2019 unification of the athletic departments which had previously represented two separate campuses of LIU, the NCAA Division I LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds and the NCAA Division II LIU Post Pioneers The Brookville campus apparently was originally CW Post University. I guess they're filling a void created by Hofstra dropping football after 2009, who was somewhat of a power in I-AA.

I suspect that the driving forces behind this new bowl game are Wren Baker, Dr. Smatresk, G. Brint Ryan, and Mike Aresco of the AAC. I would not be surprised for the game sponsor to be Ryan LLC, and I expect the game will be held at Toyota stadium, given the relationships that already exist. The only question is whether NT will play in this bowl. Personally, I think that Toyota stadium has too small of a capacity for the number of NT fans who would attend a bowl so close to home. Yes, we've never sold out Apogee, but we did have 35,000 or so at the HOD Bowl in 2013. We certainly could sell way more tickets than the 20,500 that Toyota stadium holds, and that doesn't include the number of tickets our opponent might sell. If we're in it, I'd love to see the game be played at Apogee instead, but I don't think that's realistic given that it's our home stadium (although that's OK for the Hawaii bowl), the limited number of hotel rooms in Denton, and, unfortunately, the lack of support by the Denton community for NT athletics. So my hope is that NT gets to play in the Armed Forces Bowl against another Texas school, and this new bowl then has a couple of out-of-state schools invited.
