  1. I don't care how many top 5's he has as long as UNT is always in it.
  2. Baylor is a private school and the NCAA likes to make an example out of the private schools, especially non-traditional powers that get good fairly quickly.
  3. Maybe I'm being cynical here but one thing they do is insulate Wren Baker.
  4. Maybe he means we have quite a few assistant/associate ADs. I'm hoping the extra warm bodies are worth the extra salary we are in the hook for and not just collecting a paycheck waiting for the next gig.
  5. McCasland must be a terrible recruiter too.
  6. Haha no, it was just a google image search result for pee wall
  7. I don't know about a banner for a piss wall but I wouldn't be opposed to flying a banner over Ford Stadium again.
  8. After the departure of the beloved pee wall. That was the last "lipstick on a pig" along with a fresh coat of paint generously donated by Pittsburgh paints during the Todd Dodge years. Fouts Field bathrooms pre-2007.....
  9. This is huge. This is how we are perceived outside of our little fan bubble. Think about all the recruits we miss on because they won't even consider visiting our campus because of some preconceived notion. Examples like this show just how important getting a good showing at our camp can be. Get them in to see that we don't play at Fouts anymore like some of their coaches may still believe.
  10. Not to mention that he had a completely unproven quarterback who had thrown exactly one pass in four years in his top 5 last year.
  11. It took a trick play to beat them in 2015. Vito's article said "is it the X's and O's or Jimmys and Joes?" The damn article says that Wilson is the better recruiter. Everybody knows that. They've met once on the field and it was on their turf. Why don't we revisit this after they come to our place?
  12. Is it? Wilson took a 3-9 UTSA program and went 6-7. Littrell took a 1-11 team to 5-8. Where is this superiority that Frank Wilson has? In some made up recruit scoring system? The fact that they beat us on their home field? Littrell had a 4 win improvement while Wilson had a 3 win improvement. Anybody that saw our 2015 team knows that our team was in FAR worse shape after McCarney than UTSA was after Coker. Wilsin is supposed to win these recruiting battles, that was the whole point of Vito's article. Littrell is supposed to be the better game day coach and developer of talent. The winner of this battle can only be reflected in wins and losses because everyone knew the different strengths going in so don't act surprised when a national recruiter of the year from the SEC gets the upper hand on us. SEC programs aren't always known for their ethical standards.
  13. I may get laughed out of here but I just have a feeling Shanbour is poised for a strong year.
  14. I like it. How about the "good ol blues brothers boys band from Chicago"?
  15. How about playing to the younger generation and calling it "the most lit band in the land"? or The Green Brigade, our drum line will break/crush/destroy you
  16. That's a terrible analogy. In the NFL, the teams choose. In the NCAA, the athlete chooses. It's more akin to free agency then the draft. If we had NFL privilege we'd probably get to draft in the first 5 picks. Backup plan to a Big12 program and the young man's dream school is not a bad place to be. He didn't say we were the backup plan to UTSA. One player in their extensive 6 year history yes. Meanwhile our grand 100-plus year old program hasn't had a draft pick in 13 years and just that one in the last 22 years. You realize that these recruits were 4 years old when Cody Spencer was drafted right? Despite only having one draft pick, UTSA's at least happened while these recruits were in high school. Outside of maybe Joe Greene, these recruits have no clue who the draftees were that played for us all those years ago.
  17. Anthony Wallace would have me disagreeing with you.
  18. I have no argument for this. It was well laid out and thorough. My only nitpick is with Trice. He was A+ when he went to OU but if transfers had offer lists, his would've been substantially smaller when he came to us. Fair? Maybe he could be N/A?
  19. @TheReal_jayD seems to be close to the program. Perhaps he could give us all insight on what the number one reason recruits give us for choosing another G5 or CUSA program over ours.
  20. So why would an athlete care about the conference they play in? Maybe to increase their chances of getting to the NFL. If you can't play in a premier conference, isn't it reasonable to assume you'd go to the school that has the most players drafted among your scholarship offers? An area we are sorely, SORELY, lacking. NFL dreamers don't care about enrollment otherwise we'd be talking about UCF's dynasty instead of Alabama's. NFL dreamers are only thinking about one job and that is as an NFL player. Job markets are secondary to their dreams of getting to the next level. Star football players don't believe they need to increase their chances of finding a date. Facilities matter sure, but they don't matter near as much as NFL prospects to the 3-star and above players. You keep trying to use the rationale of a life-experienced grown man to that of confident 17 year old dreamers that have always been one of the best players on their team and always told how great they are. Very few of them select a college program believing they have little to no chance of making a NFL roster.
  21. You must not have been around in 2005 or 2006. Keep on perpetuating. If he gets buckets of offers, he won't stay with us because he is a 17 year old high school star, and will go where he is wanted and you make it clear to every early commit that visits this board, that they are not worthy of us because they committed before they had a substantial offer list. Pearson was only offered by Wyoming and us. He stayed true to his commitment and looked damn good in the spring game for a guy that should've been getting ready for prom. Maybe had he left his recruitment open longer before committing he would've gotten several more offers, who knows? All I know is the kid can play and I'm damn glad he chose us. I look forward to having the same feeling about Kason Martin, offer lists be damned.
