  1. It was great the first 20 times and then....it became a beating. Thank goodness it was retired. It seemed that every college football band now plays it.
  2. That was a huge kick to the groin. One I still wince at when I think about it. Thanks. FYI - I also had front row center for Tubby's crotch kick as well.
  3. I liked the article myself. He defends UNT's football program against the ESPN write up and give's GMG.COM some free pub. No place is idiot free. That includes GMG and the DRC.
  4. From what I saw, their defense isn't anything special...MTSU's looke better. We should be able to run the ball. As for the offense.....not much of a running game. The key is to contain and get to their QB. Their TE is going to give us fits. That guy is a player.
  5. For those of you that listen to the 1310 The Ticket and even those that don't: Monday, August 29, 2005 "The Hardline are broadcasting live from UNT's University Union from 3pm to 7pm. The first person to stop by and eat a twinkie and marshmallow covered in hot sauce and wash it down with a shot of hot sauce, will win a $75 gift basket from Frank's Red-Hot hot sauce. The first ten to complete the Red Hot Challenge will recieve a Ticket P1 Pledge Party t-shirt. We're also giving away Fogo de Chao gift certificates, Tony Hawk cards, and much more." Hopefully they will have a good crowd turn out.
  6. Being a proud Mustang graduate of JJ Pearce High School...give me Daniel Meager! Give'em hell Danny!

  8. A reliable source has it that Dr. Pohl's face will be on the 50 yard line this season to thank him for all he has done for the Athletic Department.
  9. We can have all the great TE's we want...getting the ball to them is another story.
  10. Just to set the record straight...... The Student Recreation Center had nothing to do with Dr. Pohl or anyone else in the administration. It was spearheaded by a few students back in 1996.
  11. Pocket Schedules?????!!!! Wow......somebody put this thread out of its misery!!! That's 5 seconds of my life I can't get back!!! August can't get here quick enough.
  12. Green Bat and I are in for all games Fri, Sat and part of Sunday.
  13. ULL is the best team in the league right now.....Denver a close second. The Cajuns don't really have a weakness.......all of their players can fill it up when needed. They killed us on the boards and were to quick. Their defense was impresive...they were daring us to shoot 3's all night! They are by far the most athletic team in the conference. Having said that we held our own for being the weaker team but we still have some issues: Shooting - "Stru-gg-ling" You would think this has to turn around soon. Rebounding - Not very aggressive Free Throws - Were better last night Turnovers - WAY too many last night - difference in the ball game. This team has to right the ship soon.....it would be embarrasing to not be playing in the conference tournament we are hosting. A lot of home games left and we really need to end this losing streak at the Pit against NMSU. See you Saturday! GMG!
  14. Tough game tonight against a solid Lafayette team.......I think this game is the biggest game of the year. As the season is winding down with the tourney only a month away, it's time to go on a run and re-establish home court dominance. With a big win tonight and an expected win against a struggling NMSU on Saturday, I think this is the time where this team really needs to start peaking. Thoughts? I will be there tonight with Dad in tow. He hasn't been to the Super Pit since the orange seats have been removed. It will be fun to see his reaction!!!
  15. SMU doesn't have a baseball program.........
  16. I agree with a lot of your points but it's tough to compare basketball and football as far as attending. There are more home basketball games than football and half of those games are on a weeknight. Most of us alums who live outside of Dallas just can't make many weeknight games. It's tough to get there on time and you get home fairly late depending on where you live. Football games (almost always on Saturdays) are planned for in advance and become a half or full day event for a lot of us fans. The game is just part of the experience. I love that tailgating before the game is encouraged and I hope it continues to grow as I was there for the TCU tailgate party. I used to have season tickets with Greenbat and we loved it and still support the team as much as the football team but weekend games are the only ones most of us can attend that live a fair distance outside of Denton. Those who live outside and can make all of the weeknight games, more power to you and I applaud that. Just a few thoughts for those of us who follow and support the basketball team but just can't always attend weeknight games. I will be there Saturday night against Ark. State! GMG!
  17. I think you guys did a great job as well. One suggestion.....I think it would look realy cool and would make it louder, since all of you are standing, is to jump up and down and yell when we are on defense. GMG!
  18. As I posted last year on this same topic.......FORGET THE GOAL POSTS, TEAR DOWN FOUTS!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I have attended many TX/OU games (most of them VERY close games) with UT friends over the last 15 years and if your a college football fan.....it is DEFINITELY worth it! Especially with both teams undefeated! This game IS college football. The whole sports world watches it now that both teams are regular top 10 teams. The atmosphere for this game is better than ANY other sporting event I have ever been to (I have attended an Ohio State/Michigan game). The reason is because it is one of the few rivalries left (Florida/Georgia maybe?) where it is played at a neutral site and the stadium is split at the 50 yard line, half burnt orange and half crimson. During each big play in the game, half of the stadium is cheering and dancing while the other half is cussing and watching the other half go crazy! Television truly does not provide just how great the atmosphere is. The stadium is electric. I have a friend from high school who played for Texas in the early 90's and he said words could not describe the feeling of running out of the tunnel into that stadium with that type of electricity! These teams HATE each other. This has become THE RIVALRY game. If you ever get a chance to attend the game.....do it. You won't regret it. GMG!
  20. Berkner is back in the playoffs for the first time since 1990. They play Carter tonight at Texas Stadium
  21. Shane - Thanks for the insight! So you mean you are from the enemy? Say it isn't so!? The evil that is the purple and gold of the Richardson buzzards!? Now that explains a lot! When were you there? Richardson and Lake Highlands.......glory days are in the distant past. Justin - I looked on the SI and DMN website but couldn't find it. GMG!
  22. In the latest SI that just came out, there is a great picture of a JJ Pearce High School(my alma mater) WR making a TD catch against Mesquite Horn. A friend of mines son is one of the lineman in the picture. Shane - I'm curious as to how in the world that picture made it into SI?! I thought you might have some insight on this. I know the picture was from the DMN but just couldn't believe it found its way into SI. Pretty cool to open the #1 sports magazine in the country and see your high school leading it off. GMG!
