  1. Chico is staying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I am onboard 100% and have only been listening for 10 minutes.
  3. Happy Birthday to our recruiting guru.
  4. To expand, could they remove the roof, add suites and add a small upper level?
  5. Addidas provides uniforms for Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UCLA to name a few. I'm not sure if they are still with Nebraska, but they used to be. UA provides nothing for the fan in the right color and my fear is Nike will have us dressed like another Oregon with feathers and crap on our uniforms, or outfit us in something hideous similar to TCU's gray/black/red/purple uniform.
  6. I love the Kelly green, wish the green helmet would return, say no to Under Armour and Nike and yes to Addidas. Oh, and no black pants.
  7. These comments about Canales are ridiculous. KingDL1, with all due respect, people outside of Denton have taken notice of what he has done the last 5 games. How could they not? You act like Nort Texas performs within a bubble over Denton and that is ridiculous. Can Canales recruit? I would ask you to look at the players he has coached in 25 years of being an assistant. Recruiting is how all coaches spend their off season and is the lifeblood of every team. You all actually think South Florida's success was a result of Levitt's recruiting solely?
  8. I will support McCarney because he is the coach of the football team of my university, but he's got a lot to live up to to change my attitude about Canales. My fear is that Canales will end up a ULL success and lead them out of their trailers and on to greater success. Canales truely cares about NT, the players, the program and wanted to be here, so I just hope McCarney shows the same passion.
  9. My one complaint about our cheerleaders is the timing of some of the cheers. Why start a cheer when our team is driving on offense? Its is preferable to be quiet while we are trying to call the play. We should be the loudest when we are on defense. Now I sympathize with you regarding cheering on the alumni side. I was there Saturday and barely sat down during the game, and was actually surprised that not one person behind me asked me to sit down. As many have stated, this side will come around. I thank you for you years of service to North Texas.
  10. Got in to town last night and the first place I went was to see the new stadium. Even at midnight, the place looks awesome. The tail section also looks really good. I am. Lso onboard as one that really likes this.
  11. Unless RV offers Canales the Assistant HC/OC/Head Coach in waiting, he's not staying and he may not even stay for that.
  12. Really? He worked for Dodge. If McCarney is the selection, then I would prefer Canales. If Franchione is the selection, then I would prefer Canales. Leach...isn't any way he is coming to Denton. elToro and his mighty band of posting brothers and sisters are eerily quiet now. Green P1 and emmitt, great posts. I've also heard from some player's parents that state they really like Canales and would like to see him stay. Canales isn't staying for anything else but the head coaching job.
  13. NT will hammer Rice and run them out of the gym. NT wins by 10+ easily.
  14. Dr. Gretchen Bataille The perfect reach around for Lee F. Jackson.
  15. PMG will stop posting in technicolor and will finally come down off of his anti-Canales soapbox.
  16. I have become a fan of Canales, and if the announcement on Monday or Tuesday is not Canales and is not a big name coach, then I will be unimpressed. Why? Look at what he took over: 1. A team full of injuries 2. A team being led by a third string quarterback. 3. The third string quarterback has a broken, non-throwing wrist. 4. The third string quarterback was previously moved to another position because of injuries to his throwing arm that limited his effectiveness. 5. Oh, the third string QB's father was just fired as the head coach. 6. The team lost a teammate in a car accident. 7. The DC had allegedly already cleaned out his office. 8. The team had won 6 games in the previous 4 years. I have been impressed with the job Coach Canales has done because, in spite of the above points, he has rallied the team, made them believe they could win, promoted the heck out of a program he basically has one year invested in and has a fantastic resume. That is why I have been impressed with Canales.
  17. WAC = We Ain't Coming IOutside of everything else that hs been mentioned, the WAC is now the equivalent to the Southland West only weaker.
  18. With all due respect, why your sudden concern over who we hire? I believe you stated you are a fan of SDSU, so I am curious what your connection is to North Texas.
  19. Tell you what, since you are such a Levitt fan, how about Missouri hire Levitt and you send Pinkel to Denton?
  20. I care about the program as well. I guess we all have a chance to make fans or run them off. I would rather choose to make fans. Regarding the coaching search, the right head coach is essential in building a program and I think Canales has shown the ability to do this in his short time in the interim position. Levitt: Built USF, got them into the Big East, team always finished middle of the pack, left under player abuse allegations and doesn't appear to have many supporters in Tampa. Leach: Brought TTech out of the the middle of the Big XII to contend for the conference/national title, teams played no defense, never showed an interest in mingling with the supporters of the Tech program, left under player abuse programs and divided the fanbase. Franchione: Was successful at NMU as well as TCU, although Patterson has taken them to another level, failed at Alabama due to program issues, was run out of College Station due to a subscription based newsletter and divide the fanbase. Everyone of the coaches you support has some type baggage attached, that ended up hurting the program in the long run. Again, to clarify my position on the coaching search, I want the right coach that will build this program, unite the community, alumni, students and faculty and staff, recruits Texas, and specifically the Metroplex well, fits NT's budget, demands excellence both on and off the field from the young men on the team, and if chosen by another program as their HC and he accepts, has the staff in place to provide continuity similar to what Boise State and TCU have done.
