When you're right you're right. I saw part of a USFL game (Tampa Bay vs Philly) over the weekend. Maybe 20 people in the stands. Don't see how that league makes it.

Guerilla resistance by the Ukrainians. Russian body bags. Divided Russian public opinion on the invasion -- sanctions and even more economic pain for the Russian population. Could very well be a pyrrhic victory -

So apparently Putin sent forces through this area because it's an exclusionary zone (because of the radiation still there from 1986) -- meaning he's willing to expose his own troops to radiation poisoning to achieve his aims. And the even bigger issue is this, from the NY Times: Should an artillery shell hit the storage unit, “radioactive dust could cover the territory of Ukraine, Belarus and the countries of the European Union.” -

Most Ukranians don't want to be with Russia. It's been a bone of contention with them for centuries.- 119 replies

Yeah, UConn deserves the bump after the win over Nova. Old fashioned Big East basketball last night. -
Apparently some athletes are going to boycott the opening ceremony. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/02/02/olympic-athletes-preparing-boycott-opening-ceremony-winter-olympics-beijing/ The Chinese government says that "Any behaviour or speeches that are against the Olympic spirit, and especially against Chinese laws and regulations are also subjected to certain punishment." So, will a boycott be considered behavior "against the Olympic spirit, and especially against Chinese laws and regulation...subjected to certain punishment?" You'd think the IOC would push back against Xi in favor of the athletes, but no. They're a disgrace.
