I agree, and I don't think we need a sprinter as QB. This kid sets up quickly, has quick feet, and good size. I think he has the tools needed to avoid the pass rush and deliver the ball. What I really like is we have three years to coach him up.

We could refer to this duo as McCanales, that way the HC gets top billing. Just spitballin' here...

I'll have some of what he's having.

1. Bower may be a good coach, but I question if NT fans outside of this board know who he is. Not sure how excited fans would be about this hire. 2. Leach will never happen. During the podcast or press conference RV emphasized that the new coach has to be willing to get out in the community, meet fans and alums, sell tickets, kiss babies, etc. Leach doesn't strike me as that kind of guy. 3. Fran....has he been out of coaching too long? Seems like if he was really passionate about coaching he would have found a job by now. Can't make up my mind of him. 4. Has Applewhite really done that much? I may be off base but doesn't he share his duties with another coach? This seems like too much of a gamble and we have to hit on this hire. 5. I like everything about Leavitt except the situation surrounding his termination from USF....but I think he deserves a 2nd chance regardless of what happened. 6. I don't think it could hurt having a Bowden running the program. Experienced coach that we might get at a reasonable price. I guess Leavitt and Bowden are my favorites of this list.

If you're coming from Dallas and want to avoid I35 altogether I would suggest taking the DNT up to Frisco. Head west on El Dorado through Little Elm and eventually you end up on the Lewisville Lake toll bridge, and that turns into Swisher Rd in Lake Dallas. Mileage wise it's a longer drive but it's a less stressful and sometimes faster drive.

I know!!! A Mean Joe, a Booger, a Buckles, a Spencer, a Cassel, a Cobbs, a Scott Hall or Andrew Smith, a Fitz and a new head coach.....and maybe some pixie dust.

4000 yards a year and five wins to show for it, big deal. Empty numbers in my opinion. Lots of teams rack up yards between the 20's just like we do, but we lack the ability to finish drives. As for the defense, yes it could be better, but how many times have they been asked to defend a short field due to a turnover or special teams blunder. As for Knott, he does deserve some blame, but am I the only one seeing field goals being blocked a full yard behind the line? Go back and watch some replays and see how fast defenders get around the edge on our o-line. It's no wonder he's pushing PAT's wide. These are all coaching points and Dodge is the head coach. Get rid of Dodge or his staff or both but something has to change. And if players want to leave because of a change, let them go. There will be others to replace them.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, but it looks like the Boise game will be broadcast on channelsurfing.net.

I am SICK of people on this board telling other people they are not real fans because they recognize what a train wreck our football program has become. I've been to every home game for the past 10 years and several away games, have you? I've been to every home basketball game for the past five years, have you? I'v been to almost every home soccer game for the past five years, have you? I've sat through rain, sleet, wind, cold weather, hot weather, and the spitting and cursing of away fans, have you? At what point are we good enough fans to have an opinion? Do we have to endure another 5 or 10 years of losing football? And lets get to your point regarding TD not being at fault. These are his recruits in his system running his plays. Who should get the blame? Is it Dickey, RV, Scrappy, the band??? Are we really to the point where its okay just to compete??? If so, I would say NT football has become the rec soccer program of college football. Maybe we should give the players orange slices at halftime and make sure everyone gets equal playing time. Somebody call Riley and tell him it's okay that he had four turnovers again as long as he tried hard.
