I wish the men played like the ladies. Hyder and Goodwin look great so far this season for Freshman and I loves me some Laura McCoy.

A few weeks ago I went to my favorite taco stand and received a dime from the Cayman Islands as change. Had it in my pocket for two of my daughters soccer games and got two wins. Decided to take it to the ULL game and bingo, hit again. It will be with me tomorrow at Apogee.

Cracker Barrell also had hats for $21 and t-shirts for $10 a couple of weeks ago. Walmart on Loop 288 had a fairly large NT setup as well.

Here's my thoughts on tonight for those of you not able to attend. Nice crowd, larger than I thought would be there, made up mostly of students. Drum line, Cheerleaders and Dancers all did a nice job tonight. And now for the basketball. Ladies first: Petersen said they've had 10 practices so far and you could see that they are in preseason form. Not that they played bad, but early on shooting was off. Shooting picked up as the scrimmage progressed and the ladies did a pretty good job of stepping into passing lanes on the defensive side. We are noticeable bigger than last year with 6 players at least 6ft tall. A couple of the ladies had some pretty good guns hanging out of their jersey. My summary for the ladies is that we are bigger, we crash the boards more than I remember last year, and Laura McCoy is a badass. Men: Benford said they've had 5 practices so far. Hard to take anything from the scrimmage as the men didn't attempt to play any defense, but it was entertaining. We are big and athletic. Coleman is slightly taller than Mitchell, but he is a wider body. I can't think of anyone in the Sunbelt that will be able to move him out of the paint. Overlander has a good shooters stroke, but I'm not sure he will see the floor much this year because we are so deep. Patton has good ups and Holmen looked good as well. Jones and Williams both looked great tonight. Jones looked like he had a point to prove during the scrimmage and I swear Williams has even better ups than last year. Tony was Tony with several dunks and a couple of jumpers. My summary for the men is that we are big, athletic and fast. We will be a high flying team. If Coleman can play as a true five, we are a handful for anyone. I try to stay level headed about things but I'm excited about this team.

I was thinking the same thing. This guy comes with a built in metroplex recruiting network already in place. Win this year and we could see this program take off quickly. Hard not to be excited.

I'm pretty sure this is being played as part of a showcase tournament called Dallas International Girls Cup. My daughter is playing in it so once I see a finalized schedule I will post here. Most likely the game will be at the UTD Soccer Stadium or Ross Stewart Soccer Complex.

I'm with you on this. The AD makes all kinds of resources available to all our athletes. Life is about priorities and people will make time for the things that are important to them. Also, these are Texas kids and they have been dealing with no pass, no play since 7th grade.

The best program in NT Athletics marches on. Lets throw some real money at the soccer facilities and recruiting budget and see if we can turn this into a top 25 program. I dont think it would take much.

You may consider yourself meaner and greener than those who bailed on you. Soldier on alone if you must.
