First, I want to say I love this team and I wish all of our athletic teams fought like the soccer girls do. As with all college sports it comes down to recruiting. Next season, for the first time in school history, we have a proper facility for the soccer team. It will be interesting to see if we have an uptick in recruiting over the next couple of years.

Gibson is a little bigger and stronger than last year. Aside from scoring 32 pts I thought he played a fairly smart game for a guy with not much experience in college games. Jahmiah Simmons will be a very useful player around the rim. He's physically strong and looks like he will be a good rebounder. Tikhonenko is a wide body and appears willing to fight for loose balls and rebounds but needs to work on his shooting. If anyone is interested in the ladies, it looks like we finally have some size to match up with our guard play. I'm interested to see how the season pans out for the ladies.

I don't know anything about Carthels recruiting history but I think he wants this job. When Commerce & MSU had to finish their game at Apogee last month i think he even tweeted something about how he always wanted to coach Mean Green football and thanked Wren for making Apogee available. If Littrell leaves I think Carthel deserves a serious look. Now, having said all that I'm interested to see if Littrells success here leads to a higher quality coaching pool for us to choose from.

I couldn't agree more and I don't think some people realize how big a talent deficit we were in. We have some really good players in certain positions but we have some key spots where we still need drastic improvement. The good news is I think those areas will be addressed with the 2018 and 2019 classes. We've seen dramatic improvement in QB play, D-line play, defensive and special teams play as a whole over the last 3 years. I think this staff deserves credit for that. Its hard to see us lose winnable games and the coaches made mistakes yesterday, but its still the best time to be a NT football fan in my fandom. For the first time I can remember we have good coaches and an AD, President and BoR that actually support athletics.

I agree completely. I'm not complaining, just offering my opinion. I've seen some really shitty football in my days as a Mean Green fan and I try to remember where we've come from.

It's amazing how small the difference is between winning and losing. If our starting OT's were just slightly better we'd likely be undefeated.

Two thoughts: 1. This one is on Littrell. The call to go for it on 4th down to start the 2nd half was a 9 point mistake. 2. Regardless if the call was right or wrong on Mason's fumble the play was blown dead and is not reviewable.

Exactly, with Easly gone we don't have a RB capable of making an adjustment if the play is stuffed at the point of attack. There were tons of yards and a few more first downs left on the field if the RB's just get their heads up and see the many, many wide open areas outside of the tackles.

D-line is the most improved unit so far this year. Seems like no matter who is in they are killing it!

i'd love to help them out, but I would probably have to sell one of my fighter jets to make room for it.

They are fouling us but we're not getting the calls. I don't remember seeing a game called this way all season, but we need to adjust to the refs and get going.

I thought Greg White looked good. I'd like to see a set with Guyton, Bussey and White on the field at the same time. Bussey looked bigger/stronger than last year. Novil made some good plays on the d-line as did Siggers at safety.

My cousin and I are leaving Denton Friday morning but not sure what time yet. I'd like to avoid Dallas traffic.

There are actually quite a bit more in attendance than what you see in the student section but they are scattered throughout the arena. That being said we have a long way to go to get back to attendance levels for students and almuni that we had during Johnny's tenure. Tonight's crowd looked to me like the best so far this season. I know a lot of people walked away from the program under Benford but I think you will really enjoy watching both the men's and women's programs compete. Both play tough defense, work hard and are getting better each game.

Coaching gem by McCasland, we just had no answer for Young. I've not seen a better freshman yet this year.

I've said this numerous times before, but Robb Coffey should be our PA man for football and mens basketball.

I couldn't agree more. Army is definitely the dirtiest team we've played recently. I hope we never play them again in any sport.
